How about the Vectrex I just put up for trade? Okay so it has an issue with the picture, but I'm pretty sure the CRT itself is fine, the sound is fine, the case is fine (few white marks on it) and it comes with a controller and 7 overlays. (The controller analog stick is a little bent and needs to be straightened out)

If you can't get the image fixed it would be great for replacement parts.

More laser trip wires and an angry badger for the air vents. No one ever expects an angry badger in the air vents. Its like the Spanish Inquisition of badgers.

The Spanish Inquisition actually gave people 40 days notice, in which people would be expected to gather evidence to prove that they were in fact not a heretic.

So, everybody expected the Spanish Inquisition :D

Anyone know where I could get a spare Moon Base PCB? Sent mine off to Andy's Arcade but he told me without the schematics it's uneconomical to repair...

I've a CDi to trade against it!

And you call yourself "Retr0gamer" and bigged up the CDi to us all, again and again, subjecting us to the Zelda franchise being ass raped, trying to convince us it was a love letter or something...

And the first filthy little Vita to come along, the first, and you dump it like a 50hz copy of Starwing on a PAL Snes....

    FOR SHAME!!!!

My grandfather was a Lancaster Bomber pilot in WW2. The stories he used to tell about those things were incredible.
My granda couldn't walk or talk in all my memories of him.
Fortunately my dad had told me many times about how he went over to England during WW2 to help maintain the railroad tracks.

I don't have any links to the second world war in my own family, but my great grandfather joined the British forces and was injured towards the end of WW1 - He died on the way home from France.

My great grandmother remarried a couple of years later, the hussy! :pac:

On the other side of the family, my two grand uncles were in the IRA during the rising. My grandmother had all their medals and one of their diaries, but they went missing at some point and were never recovered. I reckon they were stolen :(

Just after waisting half a day trying to get my nes to work messing around with the 72 pin connector. Turns out it wasn't the connection at all. i was using a ntsc game in a pal console so all i had to do was cut one of the wires to the 10pin nes security chip.

Anyone know where I can pick up a USB 3.0 cable tomorrow? Reason I ask is I don't shop in bricks and mortar really so no idea who's carrying these spares right now. Looks like something fried both my external drives yesterday. No idea what but two separate external drives died on me.

Changed the USB 2.0 on one drive and it worked. The other is USB 3.0 (it's the 3tb drive I bought in Abu Dhabi last week) and I don't have any other USB 3.0 cables to swap it out with right now.

In other news, work gifted me a nice 128gb SSD so I have that running now on my home laptop. Vastly better performance! I have an SSD in my other Ultrabook so the speed increase wasn't a big shock, but on my personal laptop it makes a big difference!

My gamesroom only contains games I will play... someday if I've time!

Aside from Rise of the Robots, Streets of Rage and Goldenaxe.... they'll probably never get played again...

Ignoring the Master System and Game Gear games*, only Streets of Rage 2 has aged well. SoR1 had fun moments (The second last level is a masterpiece of mindless fun) and SoR3 has its fun too but they're not desert island games the way Streets of Rage 2 is.

SoR1 felt numbingly repetitive and artificially hard at times and SoR3's plot is a liability to the game.

*Haven't played 'em to have an informed opinion one way or the other.

So that's my brand new 3tb HDD gone, kaput, DEAD.

I've had it just over a week, never used it, bought a new USB 3.0 cable to check it wasn't the cable (replacing the 2.0 cable on my other external drive resurrected that one) and yet still, when you hook up the power.......... nothing............. just the ticking sound of the white LED. No drive noise, nothing.

How the hell it died so quickly when I never even used it I don't know.

Anyone know the replacement process for WD? They can pay for shipping, I doubt the shop in Abu Dhabi airport will refund me.

Last time I buy a WD drive anyway.

EDIT: I opened the casing to remove the drive and one of the tabs snapped so they'd know I opened it, thus my warranty is now void. GREAT. Waste of money there.

Down in Bray Bowl last night, and many of the arcade machines down there need to be put out of their misery. The Police 24/7 machine isn't calibrated, so you can't get past the first screen. The House of the Dead II (or 3, I'm not sure) is missing a shotgun and seems to be running in some bizarre old-school 3D mode. But the Time Crisis 3 machine is a particularly sad sight. The aspect ratio on the second screen

Also on a completely unrelated note, is Arc the Lad worth playing?

What we need, Mr. U, is a proper arcade. The instant problem however is the inevitable profits to overheads, maintenance, staff etc. How I would love to see even a very small retail unit converted to a cubby hole of coin-operated gaming goodness. Imagine, Dublin's first and only equivalent to the 1st floor in HEY!, or the entire building of the world's greatest arcade... Mikado!

Or a beers at Adultappleflavouredbeveragemale's gaf will do. However Batrider is staying locked in the vault! :D

**** it, I'd live with a Taiko no Tatsujin machine in a shopping centre foyer ;) Would still be superior to what we have these days!

Despite my former distaste for it, I am now officially hooked on Cherry Cola. I've been gorging on Dr. Pepper & Coca Cola Cherry for since yesterday & I now fear for what will happen when my supplies are exhausted.

I felt it important to mention this...why, is beyond me. Perhaps blame the sugar levels?

Hmm, wrap it up and pop it in the freezer for 3 hours and then try it (only good for a temp fix while you retrieve the contents). Do you have a free spot inside a pc to put it instead of the external case??
