kills me to think of all the bike related stuff i could have got for the cost of the car...plus insurance....plus tax
Hopefully, you bought a car that is cheaper than your bike ;). Otherwise, I would consider it as waste of resources ;).

Lovely jersey, but (adopts barrister tone) I put it to you Mr Jawgap, that you have NEVER been, or ever WILL be a World Champion! You sir are a FRAUD and an IMPOSTOR!

I do not know Mr Jawgap, but I think the allegation that he somehow is not entitled to wear a jersey bearing the world champion stripes is outrageous

How do we know that he is not the world champion of something, maybe even the hanging of retro jersey's precariously on shelves?

Wear it with pride, you deserve it, your place in history is assured.

    Hi Astra,

can I ask how you're finding these wheels? And how much they cost you all in? I'm thinking of copying you :D

I 've done around 300kms with them so far and they are holding just fine. I think the rear one is flexing a bit when I am out of the saddle going nuts but I haven't verified it 100%. If you are above 75kgs go for either 28 spokes or for Kinlin XR-270/XR300.

If you run campag 11 you are welcome to borrow them.

    Cheers,

I'm a 60kg lightweight so will go for 20 or 24 if I get them, Thanks for the offer to borrow them, I'm not using Campag though.

Ever since it came out I've been keen to run it and I can no way justify owning it but with a large increase in milage over the past few years I've lied to myself by thinking I can now jutify it so I've finally taken the plunge:
    shimano-dura-ace-di2-road-group-set_z00.jpg

It's going to be an interesting fit as my frame isn't Di2 specific so some mods might be required as I'm not keen at having the cable guides left unused but see how it goes. At the moment I'm about as equally excited about fitting as I am about riding with it. Ordered yesterday so will begin fitting after L'Etape next weekend.

You're going to need another shifter and brake and a longer chain or I foresee difficulties!

Splurged on a second hand MTB from adverts, collecting tomorrow.

I ended up having to take a late evening shortcut home along 10K of the canal towpath during the week on my trek 7.5FX hybrid. The canal is in flood at the moment, so there was plenty of splashing and sliding and ups and downs. I had a ball of a time.

So I borrowed my brothers trek 3900 to try the same route on a MTB on saturday. The second time out I did 30K out and back, sallins to hazel hatch, this time there were cranes and the largest kestrel I've ever seen, no cars and only three people.

When I find something I like, I have this tendency to do it a lot.

I bought a Claude Butler cape wrath d27 from adverts on Sunday, picking it up tomorrow. Yep, entry level bike and all that, but it'll save the 7.5FX from the hiding it took during the week.
Also splurged on a better helmet.

BTW, If my wife asks, the claud butler is in fact my brothers (trek 3900), on extended loan.

My first brand-new bike! I got sick of folding carseats down or attaching racks when I have to get picked up from work for various reasons.

It's OK, this is the vulgarity thread.

Images Of Beauty is where we can pretend that the shiny stuff just arrived from our sponsors. :pac:

SIDI & Spiuk - though I bought the Spiuk in the LBS for only a couple of euro more. The shoes are just a want but I needed the helmet after a crash last week.

Those Sidi's seem to be savage value, and they look class! Think I'll invest! :)

also not mine c.card has taken a hit but these lovely items arrived today and were put to the test already:
    WPSHRS80CA_P3.jpg
    Shimano RS80

    AERONRACE_3_4_L_MED_01.jpg?w=350&h=350&a=7Ladies bib knickers

Wheels are just !wow! improvement on the stock wheels. It feels like I've got a new bike. They feel stiffer than stock WHR500 and the same time they absorb so much more vibration from bad road surface. Now it takes much less effort to accelerate and easier to get up the hills too. Absolutely delighted here.
dbh bib knickers are perfect fit (but could feel small for taller lady) and are very comfy with just right amount of padding. I went for 40km spin and not a single thought about adjusting in the saddle crossed my mind. That's also improvement on same priced Pearl Izumi knickers I have. If I knew this before I'd went for dbh brand ones, they're so much better.

I was thinking about these wheels very recently ;). Could you compare them to Mavic Ksyriums for example, i.e. the bearings quality and the hub design. Mavic hubs have the inner bushing that wears out, but great bearings. It would be interesting to see how these compare.
I believe the RS80 may be more comfortable to ride.

Enjoy your new toys anyway :).

I can only compare them to the stock wheels that came with my bike when I bought it. it's my first road bike too so I'm not much use giving the advice. I've read a good few reviews about similar priced wheels before making my decision and these wheels had the least (if any) bad reviews about them.
