I'd like to post some pics but they seem to be too large. Do any of you have a good program/ method you use for resizing file sizes for photo?

Try Imgur, an image hosting site that let's you resize on upload.

Try gimp, it's basically photoshop but open source and free.

    Paint.net

A lot simpler than Gimp, and does all of your basic image editing with ease (and quality). Oh, and its completely free.

Looks like a Hummer from that angle, mounted coaxially to the .50

It's a GMV, HMMMV variant. Good truck, same one in the first 2 pics.

does the mini gun have its own power supply?

It has a battery box that contains two 12v batteries. This is in turn slaved to the truck's power.

maybe it's cos it's an old film (a dinosaur) and the good Captain considers it rubbish (into the bin)

I dunno...... been so long since i saw it that i can't remember if Clint has a bath at the end of it.

I think the Night Raven from GI Joe was based on firefox? Or is that just a 20 odd year old memory playing tricks on me....

Agreed... Passion, honour and respect for the fallen like I have never seen. Thanks for posting. The sniper in the ghillie suit was an interesting touch.

I was wondering about that.. Maybe he represents the spirit of the fallen soldier?.

The soldier being honoured is a sniper.

He was well known for his skills as a sniper both within and outside his Unit.

That's a true warrior send off... The utter silence as the haka ended was unbelievable.

Was over in RMA Sandhurst last Friday at a commissioning.
197 Cadets being commissioned and ~700 Cadets on parade.

Panoramic stitched photo of all three intakes in front of Old College. It's fierce small but I couldn't find a site that would let me upload a 56mb photo so what can you do :pac:

This should be a link to it in my dropbox in case anyone wants the original.
10 points and a gold star to anyone who spots the former FCÁ/RDF man

I'm not in A Coy but since you know him, then you should probably know me by association.

Have you tried pix.ie? I've thrown large photos at it, and it lets me. With most sites, it's less to do with MB, and more to do with pixel number. This is one example of a 67 photo (28610 wide) panorama that I put up for the craic (bah! to my non-level tripod).

The 28610 pixel length did cause a problem, but the nice folk at pix.ie fixed it so I could show it. Maybe try it? Maybe not 56MB, but I'd say you could try another picture format, and still keep most of the resolution?

    Thanks that worked a treat.
Saved it as a png instead of a tiff and it jumped down to 34. Had to crop a tree off of the right hand side off to knock it under the 32 mb limit.

Here is the link, as I don't have the balls to embed it I'm a very considerate person :)

I can't find that particular badge, but 4 lines denotes a sgt or petty officer third class in the Korean military.

I think you might be right. Not US either. Id say the rank is displayed on his epaulettes, the flash on his arm is probably a branch flash.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,670 ✭✭✭Rascasse

They're French and the rank looks like Maître-principal (warrant officer first class in RN). A better look at his jacket cuff would make it easier.
