Hi everyone hope ye all had fantastic weekends!
I had the most wonderful relaxing weekend in galway with my friend.
I went for my 3d/4d scan on Friday at a place called terryland medical centre and it was spectacular, got to see my beautiful babs face ! She has the most dotey chubby cheeks and fingers and arms a cute little button nose and arms little rosebud lips :-)
It was so funny seeing all her little expressions frowning smiling and opening her mouth to take a drink!
The man doing the scan couldn't have been more helpful answering all the questions i was firing at him!! He checked all babys vital organs and could even see that she was sprouting a bit of hair! ( hence the continuous heartburn :-P)

Everything looked ok to him apart from her being a little bit small for 28 weeks she measured 27 weeks. But i just have to up my calorie intake and all should be fine :-) it was well worth the money and im delighted i got it done. Got mat app tomorrow .

We spent the rest of the weekend just taking it easy, walking around in the sun, eating, a little bit off shopping and even managed to go to a bar for weeks ( non-alcoholic) cocktails
On Sunday we had our spa treatments which were bliss and baby really enjoyed them as she was wrigglin around inside me when i was lying down
Went to the casino and won loads including a few teddies for bab one with 20 euro stuck on him! A watch and and two pairs of earrings !! I was as excited as a child!!
By the end of it all my feet were swelled like an elephant so i feel your pain girls.

so, back to normality now, work tonight and mat app tomorrow.
Hope all mum and bumps are doing well :-) xx

well pushki that just sounds like an amazing weekend, bet it was very sureal seeing your babies face? i cant wait for mine now :):)

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭new look

Aw Pushki sounds like you had a great weekend, just what you needed :)
I tried to register for the pampers pack too but don't think it worked either.
This is my first week with no apps in about 6 or 7 weeks! It'll be nice not to run although I'm getting used to hearing or seeing the babies every week at this stage. I'm really getting spoiled!
Nice to be a bit cooler today alright although I feel that today took the mose out of me and I wasn't even doing anything! Must be the last few days of heat catching up on me. Also a baby in each set of ribs doesn't help either!!! Just keep thinking the June Bank Holiday is almost upon us. Time really does fly when you're having fun!!!!!!

Hey girls, how is all? I'm doing just ok, was in for an appointment with my midwife yesterday and when she was doing the doppler the baby kicked it out of the way lol we were both laughing and then the smile left her face, she kept the doppler on my stomach for ages, and she said I'm just going to ask you to sit outside for a little bit with a cold drink, baby's heart is racing. Sat out in my car as it has air con with loads of water and went back in and heart had gone back down to 155 (which is still high for my baby, as it's heartrate is always between 130-140), she was for sending me to the hospital and said I was dehydrated, so ladies remember to keep hydrated in this weather. I have NEVER drank as much water in my life as I have this last week, and I was still dehydrated, so even if you think you are grand, fill up that pint glass. I had the worst experience of my life yesterday, I was so frightened, and I was there on my own, as my husband started the first day of his internship yesterday (practically the 1st appointment he has missed). Was so shook up all yesterday evening. Hope all you ladies are well x

oh my god laura you poor thing, i hope everything goes ok with you and the baby, th e warm weather too the last few days we need to be drinking all the time, that what my nurse told me, she said in any sort of heat it is very very easy to get dehydrated,

    thinking of you x

  • Registered Users Posts: 566 ✭✭✭Rose35

Oh god laura, what a fright to get, thanks for the reminder to keep hydrated, i am heading to water cooler now for another glass of water to be on the safe side. xx

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭SSFG

Pushki glad you enjoyed the weekend and the scan was good, the sonographer is very good there alright answers questions, and never rushes you or anything. Did you post a pic of the scan?

Laura, hope you recovered ok after the fright, must have been horrible there on your own.

Well hello ladies, long time no chat!

I'm finally freeeeeee! Exams over with, such a relief. Had been getting by on about 4 or 5 hours sleep a night because of the stress, so it's nice now to put the feet up. They went well for the most part except for one, worried now that I'll have to repeat it, because the repeats are in August which is such bad timing :( It was awful, it was the one I was most worried about and had put so much work into, but the day before the exam I couldn't feel any movement from baby so I was all up in a heap and didn't sleep a wink, and was so exhausted and worried then that I couldn't focus whatsoever. Luckily though baba did a few somersaults and gave me a couple of digs in the ribs to reassure me later that day after the exam. I think I was just so stressed and busy that I hadn't been noticing the kicks as much, but it was a really horrible day, I was so worried, can't imagine what a worrier I'll be when baby is actually here! I guess there's no point stressing now about if Ill have to repeat it or not, all I can do is wait til the results come out.

Just been reading back over the last few pages great to hear everyone is getting on so well- laura you poor thing that must have been soo scary. Hope every one enjoyed the nice bit of sunshine, my feet swelled up so much, I had horrible looking cankles!! They're finally back to normal now that it's cooled down.

Also, the other night my family and friends threw me a surprise baby shower!! I got such a shock, it was so unexpected, haha I think they were afraid they might send me into labour if I got a big fright! Had a fantastic evening, they're so good, and we got an insane amount of presents- I'm sorted now for shopping for baby clothes, towels, toys, nappies, wipes etc! Will have to get cracking on packing the bag now!

Wow 30+4 today... does anyone else find it scary how quick the weeks are flying in? All the August babas will be here before we know it! Hope you're all well xxxx

Pushki, Hope you're ok. Sorry about your dog , and I cant believe your boyfriend could do that to u!, You know what we all think on here but its hard when u love someone, I just hope u can focus on the little one .

Laura I had to drink a pint of water after reading your comment.

I had checkup at limerick maternity yesterday, They confirmed the will do a c-section at 39 wks due to my past 3rd degree tear. They said they could try a vaginal birth but a side effect if things go wrong could be anal leakage for ever more afterward :O , Section me all the way!

I am dreading going into work and I just ate 3/4 of a sponge cake for breakfast WTF?

Clients in work being v complimentry saying I am v tidy and dont look preg from behind, then one cheeky so and so on Friday told me you would know I was having a girl as I do'nt just have a bump but am carrying loads of weight on my hips! and I was so shocked I ended up aggreing with her ! I will be ready next time, why do people think when your pregnant ur body is public property to comment on , I only want nice comments Thank you!

Think I may have to have a c-section too, will be scanned at my next maternity appt which is not until 16th July and I will be 36 weeks then and they will see if my placenta has moved sufficently enough for me to give a normal birth, it is now currently still a bit low, I dont know if im happy i may have a section or terrified, I just don't know what to think.

Thats a bit of a pain about your bp Betsie. I had mine this morning too, bp and heartbeat fine, she sent away my sample though, from the questions she was asking me, I think she suspects a kidney infection or something! Had my GTT the other day, results in two weeks. You are busy so Betsie, when are you going to finish up work??x

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

glad everything went well for you this morning gee g, i got my GTT results they fine thank god one less thing to worry about, Im planning on finishing work the last week of June, the dentist is going on a family holiday the 1st week of July so i will be off that week one way or another, and i was planning on taking the next week as a sick week then the following week as holidays then my maternity Leave will start

Thanks girls for all the support,
I don't want to go into too much detail but he finished with me after i told him about my dog. I know it has been coming for a while but i am quite shocked he could show so little compassion.
I am getting plenty of support from my family and friends and am still seeing my counsellor. To be honest its a relief that we split because the stress was too much for me to handle and from now on im just going to concentrate on looking after myself and baby.
I was at the maternity yesterday and everything looks good.
    Xx

keep your chin up pushki, and keep seeing the counciler for as long as you need to, it really does help. im glad things went well for you in the hospital anyway and as you said yourself the stress is not good for you and the baby, take time to relax and to treat yourself

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭pushki

Thanks rose, it does seem like things are not up in the air now and I've an idea of what things are going to be like so i can plan and prepare and not be working about "him"
Ya betsie i have really found the counselor has helped so much, it has brought so much to the surface and has helped me step back and see the broader picture. I know what is important now.

Im going to take it easy the weekend, i actually started knitting a patch for a baby blanket and im going to do loads of them! I haven't knitted since i was 10!! It really keeps the mind distracted and im doing it for my little bab!

How is everyone finding the 3rd trimester? Im finding the heartburn is really getting worse going to gp tomorrow. Also the tiredness!! I can sleep 12 hrs now no bother:-)

when is your 3d scan betsie? Where are you getting it done?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

finding the 3rd trimester tough enough, moving is getting difficult, lower back pain, heart burn tiredness, and now high bp to top it off,

my 3d scan is next Tuesday i can't wait for it, Im taking the day off work so is oh, scan not till half 6 but i normally work until 9on a Tuesday. getting it done in limerick

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭pushki

Sorry to hear about your high bp did the docs recommend you do anything for it? Lots of rest i suppose :-) its good ye are both taking the day off for it it will be a special occasion after all:-) you'll have a fine long weekend !
im getting weird pains on my shins :-\
    Heartburn is so horrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

yeah just try and rest more and i laughed at her as that is almost impossible, if its still high next week it might be a case of finishing up work

  • Registered Users Posts: 329 ✭✭0ctober

Yeah finding the third trimester tough, I'm exhausted but just can't seem to sleep through the night, getting max 5-6 hrs sleep a night. Clothes etc are getting really uncomfortable too. Also my grandad passed away yesterday morning so it's been a bit of a rollercoaster day or two, am shattered now at the mo but just can't sleep. Sad that my grandad will never get to meet baby...x

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

ah October Im so sorry to hear about your grandad, its never easy to loose someone especially now when we are expecting our little bundles, just remember with all the going at the moment, to sit and try relax too x

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭Belfastmedic

Sorry to hear about your dog pushki :(

    As for the boyfriend

I'm doing an awful lot better since i cut the nut i was seeing out of my life, he was a bad mistake and i know i can't take it out on my little boy.

He will have to life his life knowing that he has a little boy out there and his conscience will come at him eventually.

27 weeks and 2 days at the moment :)

Oh October so sorry to hear about your grandad :-( im sure he will see your little baby from heaven and look after him. I hope you are taking care of yourself.

Betsie if you need to go off work early you really should. Think about yourself and baby ye are the most important people now :-)

Thanks belfast medic . Ya i already feel better not having him i to 'mind'. He text me and said he still wants to be friends and be civil. And wants to be be a part of the child's life. I have no problem being civil as it is the mature thing to do but i don't want him to bother me anymore. Well until the baby is born anyway. I won't prevent him from seeing his child but i won't be the one doing the running, he can come to my place (he doesn't drive) i won't be going to him. And on my time and terms. I am finding it tough but not as tough as i thought i do still love him and probably always will but i don't have lost any respect for him after the way he treated me and the way he ended it. I could never forgive him.
Im glad belfast medic that you are doing well even better without your nut, i think were better off without them ;-) when is your 3dscan? Are you excited?! You'll. Get see your little boy :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭SSFG

Pushki this may sound awful but I think you will be better off. One baby is enough to be worrying about without a grown up baby as well. Hope you'll be ok.

October sorry to hear about your grandad, my nana passed away in March, she was sick for a few weeks so she never knew I was expecting but we are naming the baby's middle name after her as we know it's a girl. She loved kids, she'd 33 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, with me and another cousin due in the summer she would have been up to 32.

Getting the baby's room sorted today, so infuriating waiting for a courier with our cotbed, day off to just sit and wait around for them, was told it would be delivered in the morning but still no sign.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭Belfastmedic

    Thanks pushki

My 3D/4D scan, i'm going to get a 30 weeks, half afraid incase i can see his dad in him straight away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

For ages i was telling myself you have plenty of time to get ready for the baby but now i think not i have a few bits but that's it, i have to collect my pram from the shop yet and have to get my crib down from the attic In my mothers and get a new mattress for it oh and buy sheets and blankets ah i just need k good kick up the ass

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭pushki

Thanks SSFG your dead right exactly what my gp said!!! Ah belfast m all you'll see is your beautiful baby that YOU are creating!!

October you'll be kept busy all weekend :-) so exciting!!!

Betsie yoy'll be grand outset aside a day or two to get everything, i really recommend guineys . I was just there and picked up so much ie. Sheets mattress loads of stuff! The quality is fab and it is soo cheap :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

The ex was on to me felt he needed to tell me he had slept with someone and were not even 1 week broken up and he still thinks its his right as a father to be present at the child's birth!!??!
Can't believe the nerve of him! I told him not to contact me until after the birth, there is no way he even deserves to be there to see his child being born.
I just cannot believe how disrespectful any human can be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭SSFG

Jesus Pushki you poor thing, just proof that you've had a lucky escape. Sounds like a rotter
Can't believe he had the nerve to ask to be at the birth, how uncomfortable would that be if he can't support you now why would he think he would be able to do it at the labour. As for having the right, I think he has a right to be a father yes, but you don't need someone like that at the birth. If he can't even respect you longer than a WEEK after you break up, how does he "deserve" to be at the birth. He "deserves" a kick up the hole.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭pushki

He certainly does doesn't he? At this stage now i don't even want him to come visit us afterwards. I definitely had a lucky escape, lm just glad i saw his true colours before the baby is born. I am sick to my stomach thinking how horrible he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69 ✭✭Belfastmedic

Hi pushki, it's good you found out now rather than later on, let him rot

I caught the yolk i was seeing in a hotel room with one of his students.

He was seeing her and me behind his wifes back, poor woman :(

    Some men are right scum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Oh pushki that's awful, at least you found out now and not in a few months or years etc, my sister was married to a fella for 13 years when she found out that he had a whole other family. Some men are pure scum.

Ya ye are so true, don't think they have any morals at all, well that's not to say every man is like that.
Well he can go away and do whatever or whoever he wants now i really couldn't care anymore. He's not worth even talking about.
Just me and bab now and we'll get through this .

My doc prescribed losec for the deadly heartburn and i swear im like a new person! Haven't needed the gaviscon in 2 days and finally getting my appetite back :-)
Lots of movement from her think she wants to come out now!!!
It just makes everything seem worthwhile when you can feel them bouncing away inside you :-)
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank hol weekend!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

Exactly look after yourself and baby as you told me they are most important at the moment,

Thanks SSFG, yeah we don't know yet if we're having a boy or girl, but if it's a boy we're going to give him my grandads name as a middle name.
How is everyone feeling at the mo? I'm so exhausted, feels like I'm back in the first trimester again. Haha I was stuck in traffic this morning so started chatting away to baby, it was only after a few minutes I realised I was getting funny looks from the man in the car beside me...must have looked like a right freak chatting away looking down at my lap cos he couldn't see I was pregnant!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 308 ✭✭SSFG

Oh yeah worn out the past week or two, like being back in the first trimester!!
Think it's just the fact that we're nearing the finish line. Walking up the stairs is enough to make me want a nap!

All i can say wow, the 3d scan was amazing. Our little GIRL is looking perfect, had her hands covering her face for ages, but eventually moved and put on a great show for us,

oh was right yet again he is saying a girl all along i owe him a tenner now haha

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 287 ✭✭pushki

Aw betsie im delighted for ye! A little girl :-) yey!!
Its an amazing experience isn't it!?

Ya im feeling totally exhausted too not complaining though as im sleeping really well. Bit uncomfortable with baby kicking under my ribs but moving around helps . I feel a lot of relief now that amount "himself" is out of the picture, well for the time being anyway.. Am enjoying quality time alone with bump :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Betsie_xr3i

baby has big long legs and they are stuck up inside my ribs the doc couldnt get over the length of them, they are messuring bigger then my dates, but he said baby is not going to be a massive baby which is a bit of a relief :) baby is head down too and had been breech all along.

exhausted is not the word for it, i actually rang in sick today because i didnt sleep well the last few nights so i just said im taking a me day.
