I see o2's pricing is up and its WAY off the mark... i reckon they are now offically more expensive then even vodafone.

For 40euro a month Tarrif with 250min and 250texts with only 350mb data on a 12month contract they want 359 for the handset

the same on 18month its 319 and 269 for 24 month... its actually almost laughable.

Out of curiosity is it possible to downgrade your tarrif on networks later? If so what penelties etc.. are there?

With o2 you can after 6months. With three I think only in last 6 months of your contract and I don't think you can with meteor. I'm not 100% so please correct me if I'm wrong.

They are officially smoking crack with this new pricing structure!! :pac:

I wonder if I come up with some kind of sob story and send it to Samsung, could I get a free phone of them? :D

With plenty people on iphones probably finishing contracts on o2 around now, I can't see how they aren't haemorrhaging customers. They probably are, and those 6 month contracts of theirs are a total joke, a free Galaxy Ace on a 6 month deal at about 55€/month.. They are a crap network and I can't see how they're possibly gaining any new customers at the moment. And as regards this deal, they're up against Three who'll give you the phone for free on 24mth contract(Saving €270), with 15gb monthly data for the same monthly tariff, just ridiculous..

You can say the same of vodafone too, but they seem to be stable as regards customer base. God those stupid yoda ads annoy me too(What budding MBA realised yoda rhymes with voda..). what idiot can't just back up their contacts on gmail, they're really searching for the technology bottom-feeders with that one..

    Oh.. rant over

Production issues holding up the blue versions btw..

Got the case for it today. its just not the same without a phone inside! Holding it up to co workers in the office while pretending i got my S3 was fun however.

I'm finding it hard to convince myself to upgrade from my S2 + tab 7 plus.I might hold out until I'm going back to college and having one device makes more sense.

Or to put it another way, my wife says I'm to stop being stupid

I got my current phone (HTC Desire) from Meteor two years ago & it was unbranded & unlocked, will be interested to hear if the S3 is similar.

the reason for that was there was a huge shortage and they got them in in ireland from meteor in italy (and in italy they cant brand phones)

the galqaxy s will probably be branded to most networks, if its not then it wont be as cheap imo

can someone answer me if three run on o2 network? i can get o2 at work, just wondering would i be able to connect to three through them? i read something about it on wiki last night but unsure if its true.
im considering getting this on three

Three have their own network and do not operate on O2's. However, their network doesn't span the entire country. Where Three don't have coverage, they have an agreement with Vodafone to use their 2G masts only, for voice and SMS. No data on Vodafone.

You knoe your on the Vodafone network with a Three SIM as you appear to be roaming. This is National Roaming.

Three won't have any pebble blue on Friday (when they are now releasing the phone) it will take 2-3 weeks to get them

Currently have the s2 but curious about the s3

How long would it be before we will have all the rooted roms similar to those available on the S2?

I have mine rooted since day 1 and may hold out until the devs get their hands on the s3 and see what they can do with it

Then decide to buy or not to buy that is the question...;)

There's already a rooted and custom roms up for the Galaxy S3. Now they are pretty basic, but indeed already rooted which is perfect for launch.

probably means there wont be much editing done to them also which is good in its own way as they wont be unstable (until you start overclocking etc yourself)

There is something going on at the moment with three and o2,rumours of three(hutchison) buying 02 and at work we have an o2 repeater and they were adjusting it last week was told it had to do with three.

Sammy kinda embraced the modding community so I reckon you will see stuff within a very very short amount of time.

EDIT: in fact there is already 1 ROM on XDA,

They also say that the Blue colour will be in stock in two days: http://www.expansys.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-16gb-blue-230428/

It wouldn't be the first time they were wrong with their stock availability...

Although, keep in mind that that blog says that Samsung invented the colour blue. :D
"Samsung's GALAXY S III Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material.

Just rang Meteor Sales line and asked about the GS3 again, they said the phones have not arrived yet sadly but should be in soon ;(

I also asked about the posibility of getting a 12month contract and was told if I wished I could remain on my existing tarrif rate which is full price of 35euro a month for 200min 200texts 1gig data and free meteor to meteor calls and texts and still only 12month contract so ill be good for the gs4 :P Quite happy with that.

How much do you pay for the phone when you stick with the 12 month contract?

I asked that and its actually less @ 289.99 I was told :)

I doubt this is available to new customers, i reckon its the fact that i am already on that tarrif is my saving grace.
