If I was raped by a woman I would certainly report it. Not necessarily because of the impact it would have on me but I would want it to be known that not only men are capable of such a vile attack.

Sadly, if a man went into a police station saying he got raped by a woman it will be met with a raised eyebrow. Sure proper procedure would be followed. But "Is he lying?" would be thought.

If I were raped by a man I can guarantee that for his own sake he'd be as well off to kill me afterwards.

All well and good. But with 5 million people living in Ireland? Slim chance of finding someone. Sick fact is someone can go out tonight and rape 3 people and never be caught  male or female... but since we are talking about male on male rape. Best to think kill or be raped.

Sure a man must be aroused to be "raped" and if he is genuinely aroused how could it be rape?

Djrichard I agree with a lot of what you say. Rape is like anything else in the sense that some people are more effected by it then others.

In my experience some women recover from the experience very quickly while others will never recover but then these are the ones that need the help and are therefore much higher profile.

@djrichard I would think their attitude might be a reaction towards their feelings of helplessness after being raped.

Does it not only happen to people stuck in prison with homos, homos and people who hang about homos? or is there gangs of homo rapists roaming the streets now? or are they out drugging people? I'd say it's only homos that would report it. Heteros wouldn't want to go about telling people that they had their manhood took, they'd want to try regain it by killing the homo/s.

Not if you are raped by another man you don't.
    Another life of innocence lost.

Heard a story of a lad in Waterford had his stag, and ended up tied to a pole in the nip. His mates left him there, meaning for one of them to go back in the morning to release him, but no one did.

Seems the lad was raped. Sodomized . He was so traumatised after it, and then he was made the laughing stock of the town, that he couldn't socialise because of the nasty jokes and became depressed. The wedding had to be cancelled.

Don't know if it's true. I hope not.

That's ridiculous, sure you could say the same thing about a woman being raped.

You can't second guess how victims feel. People move on, rape victims don't hide away in their rooms for all of eternity. To say its worse then murder, Id suspect most would disagree.

There was a recent Irish case of man on man rape. Maybe 5 years ago. A prisoner raped his cell mate. Both prisoners were serving time for rape.

Has anyone ever seen the movie 40 Days and 40 Nights? It's one of those crappy teen comedies that was out a good few years ago about a guy who decides to go 40 days without sexual contact/masturbation/etc. Towards the end, the guy is on his last night of his 40 nights and he has got his friend to handcuff him to the bed so he won't be tempted to break the challenge. He's drifting in and out of sleep, having sexy dreams so has an erection. His ex-gf comes in and starts having sex with him. He wakes up in the middle of it and tries to get her to stop but she doesn't. I know this movie is supposed to be light-hearted drivel but I was absolutely shocked at that scene. That guy was blatantly raped. Imagine if that had been a woman lying handcuffed to a bed and a man had come in and had sex with her against her will. That would never have been in the movie, so it disgusts me that they took such a flippant view to a woman raping a man.

First off I am male, I was on a date once and it went really well and we ended up going back to her house afterwards. We end up kissing on the bed but because we didn't have a condom I didn't want to have sex. I said no several times, upon when she forced herself on me.

Now of course I didn't report it, I didn't feel violated and in the end I went out with the girl for 3 years.

    but..

If I did report it nobody would take me seriously, I could call the rape crisis center and nothing would be done about it.

If the reverse were true and I was the girl and she was the guy, she would spend time in prison.

people here saying rape is rape don't have a clue, a girl raping a girl is not the same thing as a guy raping a girl.

This reminds me of that female teacher who was having sex with a 13 year old boy in her class. She spent 10 years in prison for that which I think is way over the top. Don't get me wrong, a 35 year old man having sex with 13 year old girl, that's a crime, a 35 year old woman having sex with a 13 year old boy...that's a crime we didn't get it on film.

As for man on man rape, I don't even understand the logistics of that, how prey tell does the rapist get in inside the other guy, do he carry around lube? Is his dick made of metal? If I don't want something going in my ass I clench like a mofo, plus all the struggling. Are they raped at gun point? Is this really a big epidemic in Ireland? I don't think so.

How can a man be raped by a woman?

Slip him a few viagra and stick some porn on and then jump on his c0ck or something?

Your body will react naturally to simulation. It can still be against your will.

Pretty sure the premise of the thread is man on man sexual assault.

    haha here's the story: http://rt.com/news/hairdresser-turns-robber-into-sex-slave/?fullstory

“What a bastard,” the woman said about Viktor. “Yes, we had sex a couple of times. But I’ve bought him new jeans, gave him food and even gave him 1.000 roubles (around $ 30) when he left.”

Seriously , you went out with her for 3 years ???

I was in a position last year where a woman tried to force herself on me and I wasn't having any of it. Wasn't a pleasant expierience and I certainly wouldn't laugh or joke about it. Lets just say a woman doesn't physically need to be as big as you for this to happen. I certainly wouldn't stick around though after it happened, especially for 3 years.

    Yes, I would report it.

Isn't it strange that if there was a thread about a woman being raped, there would be absolute outrage over some of the comments that were being made, but there doesn't seem to be any since it's about a man?

I'm not saying either one is worse than the other - rape is rape, regardless of gender, and should be treated equally as serious, but it's still interesting.

^ Would you tell the hypothetical woman above that she wasn't raped?

In fairness, I think the comparison there is because a rape victim has to live with the trauma of being raped. It makes a big difference to someone's sense of security for themselves. Where as a murder victim doesn't.

In my opinion, I'd find it hard to quantify the severity of any form of abuse in itself, be it violent / sexual / verbal and rank from highest to lowest.
