Where can we find the two sides of the draw?

Everything can actually be worked out from the seedings. The combined rankings above for each match in R1 is 65. This will be 33 for R2, 17 for R3 and so on.

Therefore, if the seedings were to hold, Rory McIlroy & Sergio Garcia would have to meet in R3. Tiger Woods would play the winner of the Nick Watney/Darren Clarke match in R2 and could expect to play Lee Westwood in R3 if he came through both of those games.

Wow, McIlroys side of the draw is tough. Two former Champions to contend against.
Would be great to see Clarke v Woods in the 2nd round, slim chance of Clarke beating Watney though with the way he has been playing.

Day 1 of the matchplay one of the best spectacles of tournament golf. Unfortunately, its the only competition that gets worse as the week goes on-the final can be hard work especially

I fancy a small bet on Donald, McIlroy and Westwood to all lose their first round matches. Coetzee and Colsaerts especially are tough draws and Ernie would always have a chance against anyone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,898 ✭✭✭Trampas

els has a poor record in this event so I would be saving my cash on him.

If I was to take a wild guess is that eldrick will have a late tee time and if he is 4up after 4 we will see every shot he still plays until he wins on the 13th even though the game will be iced.

I think Kaymer has a nice quarter

his putting is not consistant enough to have a chance imo.........we'll see

Yeah Garcia ticks all the boxes here...great matchplay record in Ryder Cups, good course form with a 4th place in 2010 and coming off his best round of the year at Riviera. That Player bracket is absolutely brutal though.

Edit - Having looked at the brackets a bit closer, I'd really fancy Kaymer in his bracket, no one really in form there at all, Kuchar could be a danger

what i've found from backing in this before is not to get too hung up on the brackets early on,there will be some serious shocks for sure.

I honestly couldn't back Garcia because although his putting has greatly improved i still don't think in a 1v1 situation he will be consistant enough with that stroke to win.

hope i don't get slated for this but i hope a few of the top seed yanks go out early - then we might get to see other players on tv.

    unless tiger is there.

Lets be honest if its a tiger mcilroy/scott/westwood/ final, it'll be fascinating

Is it not an 18h final now? bit more palatable

Have a fancy for KT Kim think he might spring a surprise. He looked like a good match player during the presidents cup. Might be a shock for Rory if they both make it through rd1

Family time, pulled out a few weeks ago. A real pity considering the form he's in. It's a dream of mine to see a Phil/Tiger matchplay face-off. Would be genuinely the biggest golfing TV audience ever I'd say.

Think he's the token dude who's won a shed load on the Asian Tour suddenly appearing in the Top 50. Think Jumbo Ozaki, Shingo Maruyama style

Some very interesting match ups today, I fancy a fair few shocks

The way the course is set up the short game wizards will be the ones to watch

the Garcia v Jimenez match should be a cracker today hope sky/nbc/golf channel or whoever is producing the pictures show more than Tiger/ the US players match ups

  • Registered Users Posts: 877 ✭✭✭blackwaterfish

    prediction competition anybody?

name your bracket finalists, just to make it a bit more interesting, with (W) beside winner.

heres an interactive bracket to make it brainlessly simple:

    http://games.golfweek.com/bracket.asp?ID=4

    jones: donald (w) vs bjorn:
hogan : kucher vs baddeley (w)
gary player : garcia (w) vs swartzel
    snead: watney (w) vs laird

highlight of the day for me is the jiminez vs garcia match... would love to see an upset here... the longer jiminez stays in this the sexier the whole event gets. his matchplay record is pants tho.

castano to send tiger packing 4&3. the mcilroy/coatzee match could be a belter.
