From Airsoft Action FB page @ Shot Show

"I was really lucky to be invited into the inner sanctum of Magpul PTS, where Alax Ko showed me some of the things they have in store for us this year.

First up, the PDR-C (Personal Defence Rifle) aeg, available mid-2012.
    ...
10.5" barrel, fully ambidextrous (charging handle, mag release and ejection port!).

Two-stage trigger (no more selector switches) - first stage is semi and full pull is full auto.

Can use P mag or any AR15 mag and takes a 7.4 or 11.1, 1,000MaH battery in the pistol grip plus has a 9" upper rail.

Although it utilises a proprietory gearbox, it uses standard high wear parts such as the piston and gears.

If you are into CQB then you have GOT to get your hands on this baby!

Please excuse the photo quality - best I could do on the floor. We'll be getting our hands on one as soon as we can and bring you a full (exclusive) review."

    8mm :(

8mm suits the M1; don't knock it 'till you've fired it! Although being electric, it just wont have the same impact (no pun intended) as its gas counterpart, nor will it sound like it will eat babies :-/

The sound of the bolt racking alone (on the Marushin M1) has been enough to make people call close misses out of fear of being hit by a follow up :P

I found this blog linked over on Arnies, interesting product that seems to be creating a bit of debate around safety etc.

Unless the new inserts were unmistakeably identifiable from 20M, I would be against the idea, and so it would be lame in a scrim.

Less-Lethal shottys are painted green IIRC.

SHOT Show officials are banning the ECHO 1 USA booth on the show floor. They are escorting the entirety of Echo 1 personnel from the site of the 2012 show because of a temporary restraining order from CYBERGUN S.A. and FN Herstal. The ban is the alleged result of two lawsuits filed against JAG/Echo1, first in Texas on January 10, and the second filed on the opening day of SHOT Show, January 17. The lawsuits allege that Echo1 is infriging upon the copyrights owned by F.N. Herstal, and contracted out to Cybergun. SHOT Show respresentatives are allegedly working on a statement, but confirmed that Echo 1 was being closed down after the presenters of the SHOT Show were told of a restraining order from CYBERGUN representatives on Friday morning. The JAG Precision/ECHO 1 USA booth was blocked from view by curtains, while Echo 1 employees, including Brian Holt, were dismantling their booth.

That would be the Echo 1 fal one of 3 variants coming out soon based on the Dsa short fals stateside also seen in use with PDF sniper teams returned to service as a 7.62 spotter rifle upgraded by Dsa

That makes sense, seems a smart idea. The NZSAS were doing something similar if I remember correctly.

I've lost track of who actually manufactures the guns and who's a re-brander these days.
They look the Same as the DSA trademarked Classic Army ones, which in turn appear to be identical in every way (bar the gearbox shell and DSA trademarks) to the Zeta Labs ones which in turn seem to be the same as the AGM fals. Lots of FAL activity
at the moment :D be nice to see a GBB one! (Aeriel numbers on them have a ZL at the start so guessing Zeta Labs)

[EDIT: also just seen another website advertise these are the manufacture being "quality power" (never heard of them)]

Now, I'm famously a lover of overkill-style weapons. I love mines and grenades, and pretty much anything else that is oversized and pointless because it's hilarious fun. However, that thing is crossing the line. Call me when they add a belt feed of 40mm grenades to it instead of it being an oversized M16.
