the finish is more than likely down to this begin a prototype, but saying that the stock itself in real life is very boxey, if there is one thing ares do do well it is externals

And it takes VSR internals so that's sorted too :D

Yeah 32 megajoules is a little hot. Still it would be worth having for people's reactions when you melt the chrono...

I plan on getting that in the near future, first thing i'd do is get a bull barrel, new piston, new barrel and rubber. Then change out the cylinder in time. She'd be a beaut.

    Umarex... without the Umarex....

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

There is a small Umarex 6mm marking on it, it's on the dust cover and faint so no biggy. The mag holds 35 bbs, not limited to 30 as he says in the review.

He also does not say that the dust cover and charging handle are plastic. I'd rather if the charging was metal as I can see the plastic breaking from my use with it.

My mag release is very stiff and the mag is a very tight fit in the mag well. The sound of it firing in the video does it no justice at all. It's loud.

No its not the real 416s have those warning markings on the front of the magwell. All the markings on this are all accurate. Like I said above only the outside of the dust cover has a small faint Umarex marking and thats it. You can only see it with the cover closed.

Oh well seeing as they are vfc compatible can you just put a metal vfc cover and cocking handle on it?

Also what's the rrp on this piece

The cocking handle is unique as VFC replicated the HK bolt and blot key shape which is unique itself. This is made by VFC, they just don't have their name on it.

I pre-ordered my 416 with WGC in December and have it over a month now. I'm not sure if the price has dropped since.

^^ Nice until it gets damp/wet and the PCB board gets fried or shorts something out.

No the accuracy displaid in th Airsoft gi vid was plenty enough info for me :) as for the tm comparability thing I couldn't care less

It's like putting the engine and badge of a porche into fiesta which is stupid and pointless and furthermore ramble ramble ramble grrrrrrr.........

so your saying tm are Porsche and WE are a ford fiesta now thats a big insult to the man who is going using only gbbrs :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,269 ✭✭✭stigmau5

oh also you be better off butting a evo engine or escort cosworth engine in as it would work lovely in a fiesta take into account you might have to mid mount it make a new prop shafts maybe even a space frame for the back of it or as i know from experience a cosworth engine will fit in lovely will have to do a bit of cutting and new engine mounts also widing the tunnel for the bigger gear box but this is a petrol head talking sorry ha you get the point :P

WE make good rifle but average (for lack of a better word) pistols

Whereas TM their one of the best pistol manufacturers around

Now now let's stick on topic here

Linky to that fiesty please? Haven't seen a cosworth in ages actually. The low body weight of a fiesta coupled with a good engine would make for savage craic and you would definitely put in new engine mounts just to be safe. Don't want your engine falling out onto the road when you're doing 90 on a bumpy country back road :p Also, you can get an evo engine but evo grip is whole new story. That stuff makes people think that their car can do anything, even possibly climbing vertical walls, haha :p

As for the GBB topic, as with AEGs, people will always have thier own opinions about certain manufacturers. Be they good, average or bad.

As with regards the WE glock, I'll be interested to see it perform and whether it matches or out preforms some of the current glocks in the irish airsoft community.

The release dates for the AEG versions in Europe are Fall 2012 for 416C, May 2012 for 416CQB, and May 2012 for 417D. The release dates for the GBBr versions are Spring 2012 for 417D, Summer 2012 for 416C, and the 416CQB is available now.

The HK416 will not be available in any other barrel length other than the standard, 275mm inner barrel for HK416CQB & 380mm for HK416D. However, the HK417D will have another barrel released for it sometime in June 2012.

The AEG versions of the 416 and 417 will have authentic H&K stocks and pistol grips as found on the GBB versions. Umarex offers spare parts for all of their replicas, therefore it is very likely that the authentic HK stocks and pistol grips will become available as spare parts for those who have already purchased a VFC HK416CQB AEG.

The HK417D will only use proprietary VFC magazines, only the mid-capacity and upcoming high capacity VFC magazines, designed specifically for the VFC417D, will work. In fact, aside from designing a whole new magazine, VFC had to create a longer magazine well which pushes the location of the piston back considerably, giving the VFC HK417D a substantially longer inner barrel length.

The HK416 AEG uses standard M-4 type magazines, therefore it should, although not confirmed by Umarex, accept all standard M4 type magazines including STANAG magazines, Magpul PTS EMAGs, and Magpul PTS PMAGs*

    * I will believe that when I see it, regular STANAGs & EMAGs should be fine but PMAGs, I'm not convinced
