anyone know what the m50 form the airport to wicklow is like?

Almost 4 hour trip from red cow northbound to Malahide exit; from 530pm til after 9. Over two hours of this was the 5 minute drive from Woodies near red cow to slip onto top of M50. Clare Hall at least four if water, Malahide road up past Charlie Haugheys place savage flooding up to 9pm; a river running through it. Cars racing on one side only to try & get through; some getting stuck in the floods and others having to get out & help the wirh a push x 2 cars in front of me. Kettles lane Kinsealy impassable. Campions pub right turn at tbe field sjunction to Belmayne totally flooded and impassible to jeeps; up last the bonnet ( top of). M50 from red cow to Malahide; whole chunks of the ("slow!") lane totally impassible and seriously dangerous; wash onto other lanes over the roofs of cars; that was 9 ish. The rain has stopped but seriously would t do it.
    ( normally not cautious!)

Just lost power in the sweepstakes. A neighbour came out to ask if we knew why the power was out. When we explained she said "what floods?"....

Hope everyone's ok out there tonight.

She was too wrapped up in the soaps all evening-if it wasn't flooded in Coronation Street it didn't happen.:D

    Swords

The feltrim/kinsealy entrance is grand but it's near impassable down by the forest road and I'd imagine the road up to Swords Manor is pretty bad too.
The water was nearly over the bonnet of my car two hours ago..

Rivervalley would be bad too. The Kinsealy/Feltrim entrance is on higher ground so it'd be saved from a lot of the flooding.

Road past Charlie Haugheys virtually impassible despite the hill. Cones at St doulaghs ; have to swap to the other side of the road which was pretty bad. Feltrim road bad and kettles lane Kinsealy impassible. Two hours ago.

You're about two days early, I'm expecting Clonoon to be flooded by the end of the week as the water that fell in the midlands makes its way into the Shannon. ;)

    Looks like I'm trapped :(

What part of the Feltrim road? Beside Kettles Lane?

Just back from the dropping well in Milltown, was crazy there around high tide. The water was waist high in the road for about a 80 yard stretch with some jeeps getting through. A fee cars got through but one got stuck, an 11 reg Skoda with Ruairi Quinn in the passenger seat and a highly (un)skilled (Garda presumably?) driver at the wheel.
There was a car washed into the river from the dropping well car park and it's now about 500 yards down the river.

Anyone heard anything more on the young off-duty Garda who was swept away by the floodwaters near Blessington earlier? He was trying to help people and got caught in a surge of water... Hopefully he'll be ok.

Now, that's one thing I don't understand. Why the hell did they endanger people's lives by leaving the electricity on.

I think that was the price of some unseasonal mildness. southerly. changed back to northerly now far as I can tell; it's cold. and hey ho the fûckn skies are completely clear

I see the star is going with the story the garda is dead.
I'm very uneasy about that, especially since there is no confirmation

Port Tunnel was NOT flooded about half an hour before it stopped raining.

However, there is a major flood just north of the Whitehall portals, meaning traffic into and out of the tunnel is restricted, moreso Northbound as traffic cannot be allowed to back up into the bore (fumes).

Gave his name as well, surely all his family wouldn't even know yet.
    Very sad
