Does anyone know if Swords village is badly affected by this. Or even the Feltrim/Kinsealy entrance into it?

Thanks to anyone who can answer

No, I'm not too far from there. All clear. Be weary of that stream down near the castle though.

Update: Water levels here in South Dublin (Shankill) dropping considerably in last 20 mins. N11 flooded at Silver Tassie (near Cherrywood flyover) but apparently passable.

Roads along Shanganagh River flooded and impasable.

    Swords

The feltrim/kinsealy entrance is grand but it's near impassable down by the forest road and I'd imagine the road up to Swords Manor is pretty bad too.
The water was nearly over the bonnet of my car two hours ago..

Rivervalley would be bad too. The Kinsealy/Feltrim entrance is on higher ground so it'd be saved from a lot of the flooding.

James Larkin Road was shut earlier and very likely still is.

OK... I must have been one of the last to get by, on the wrong side of the road half on the footpath. Gardai were directing.

A rare sight. A gauda van passed me while u was trying to help a friend stack bags to block the river running through her door; two women; nit a hope of one of then helping us. They went odd down the lane, watched two cars trying to pull each other out if a flood, and proceeded to wAtch while four other cars stopped, wAited and then went off down the road. Do you think any of them bothered to indicate in any way that the road was Flooded up to the bonnet of the cars in both directions. Unbelievable. Three got totally stuck and had to be abandoned. Unproactive, lazy, etc.
On a four hour crawl did not see one gaurs helping anywhere; nor motorcycle cop.

Rivervalley is very flooded as you come in the entrance nearest to the Village, the forest road is also very bad especially around the Highfields entrance..
The village itself and around by feltrim and Kinsealy is grand.

anyone been near Blackrock this evening?

I was there after 8. Some deep pockets of water, few roads closed. The village itself was all right.

This is why when you buy a house, it's always a good idea to make note of its elevation.

So basically what you want to know is what 'The Entire' M50 from one end to the other is like??

Took me 3 hours to get from Heuston Station to Lucan earlier, lot of cars and a bus broken down, once past Lucan the roads were clear. Mad rainfall altogether.

Fair play to the young Guard out clearing the drains on the Chapelizod bypass with a metal pole in the rotten rain and cold floodwaters. Not a nice job.
And then he was making sure all the cars went into the outer lane only to get through the flooding safely with just a hi-viz jacket and a small torch. Legend.

I wouldn't trust that. There'd be a hole in it from a new assassination attempt!!

You should write a letter to his superintendent, these sorts of things go far
    Might help his annual appraisal

Housemate left North Strand 11.00pm to go to to the airport - got there in 25 minutes. Reports other drivers very courteous and good-humoured. Low idiot factor, everyone taking their time and allowing others into lanes etc.

Hopefully it will be the same coming back.

Just lost power in the sweepstakes. A neighbour came out to ask if we knew why the power was out. When we explained she said "what floods?"....

Hope everyone's ok out there tonight.
