I've been reading today that this isn't an isolated incident, raids have been carried out on irish traveller camps across the UK and over 100 slaves have been found.

no there not, they are descended from Romanian travellers. notice that Ireland is at edge of europe. i.e nowhere else to travel so they got centralised here.
    thats common knowledge

Romanian Travellers? As in Roma? As in not descending from Romanians?

I though that was common knowledge.

Travellers aren't descended from Romanians or Roma - regardless of how common that belief might be.

    No statement from Pavee Point?

    They're being very quiet

I was surprised yesterday to hear Martin Collins from Pavee Point being interviewed on the radio.

He unequivocally condemned the travellers involved for their actions, if it turns out that it was true. He also agreed that anyone involved, whether they be traveller or settled, should be brought to justice.

Don't we have a lengthy thread on this already?

Typical scumbag Irish, the lot of them. What is it about the Irish and having to break the law, having to treat others like crap, and just basically being awful people?

The whole wretched island should be bombed to nothing, and any survivors shot.

    Sarcasm or troll?

They were all born and live in the UK i thought? How are they Irish!!!

The four: Tommy Connors (30), Patrick Connors (19), James Connors (34), and James Connors (23),

Let me guess....... the slaves were all called Blackie.

I find it odd how the oldest person arrested is only 34, these people have been slaves for about 20 years so that means the oldest person started doing it at the age of 14?

    Any sign of Vanessa Redgrave?

I hear she feels strongly about issues and is willing to jump in if she feels human rights are breached

The original champagne socialist do-gooder pita, i'd love to see the look on her withered mush if it was found that there were slaves kept in crays hill .

I've been reading today that many of those apparently freed are refusing to co-operate with police and are claiming they were getting paid for work done.

Ah sure travellers are lovely people. And sure if they want to own a few slaves, its part of their rich heritage and who are we to try and stop them? Now lets all get back to sticking up for those poor travellers being evicted from Dale Farm, thats ethnic cleansing, that is!

Ethnic cleansing ? Throw a bar of soap at the b**tards and they wouldn't be long clearing out.

They are Irish, are they not?

So if people want to label all travellers over this, they can go ahead and label all Irish people -themselves included- while they are at it, also.

    ;)

Point being if people want to label all travellers over this, they better not try to complain if people from other parts of the world (e.g. unfamiliar with travellers for the most part) do the same for the Irish over it, too.

But we know they'll be amongst the first to turn around and moan about "discrimination", "it's not fair" and so on.

Pavee Point and the entire travelling community have been very silent over all of this. I've yet to hear anyone from either group condemn what happened.

This is true as well, and they are doing themselves less-than-no-favours in that regard.

If that's what pointing out a blatant double-standard makes you, I guess so... ???

No Ted. Did they come out and condemn it?

Yes they did. Or at least Martin Collins did, which is essentially the same thing.

Not really. I'm still waiting for an official statement from either group, the silence is deafening.

Do you mind if I ask where? Just that I have not heard/read it. He is ass't director of Pavee Point, right?

Given that Collins is Pavee's spokesperson, and that there's probably no meeting scheduled at Pavee for 'official' statements, it sounds like you're just selectively deaf. Saddo.
