Still sick to the pit of my stomach after yesterday. I had Tipp people beside me embarrassed to cheer the 6th and 7th goals, they were actually cringing on our behalf. A much lower low than the 2008 final in my book. I predicted a heavy defeat on the way down but I never expected that. Too disgusted to say any more for now. Its clear Davy is gone in the Summer and rightfully so. I'm not sure any combination of Waterford players would have beaten Tipp the way they played yesterday the way the backs were told to follow their man no matter what was Junior B stuff. We had the best cenrtre back in the country playing corner back for most of the first half. Starting Eoin Mac as a galf forward against the aerial dominance of those half backs was a joke as well. The young lads could be destroyed by that, the way lads like Lawlor, Maher, Hutch and others have been dragged off every time anything has gone wrong is noty the way to build for the future.

I can see the Galway forward line going to town again on us in two weeks' time. All Mc Intyre has to do is isolate the fulback line, get them to move about and Fitzgerald will be clueless to stop them.

So is anyone going to bother to go the Quarter Final on the 24th.?? Ill probly go but still its better to be in the quarters than it is to be out of the championship.

At least the footballers could possibly get to an all ireland quarter final

I'm going, but I hope it's on in Thurles. The less treks up to Dublin the better.

Yeah, I think now that that is part of the reason I was so happy with the football, the fact that there was so much pessimism surrounding the hurlers, and even more now. Pity they got an away draw, Limerick at home would have been a good draw. They seem to have improved a lot Limerick, but it's a good draw because the lads will feel they can win, which is very important.

Back on the topic of Fitzgerald it's true, any mistakes and he is very quick to throw the book out the window. I know the damage was done and Tipp did still score two goals and the rest of it and that if the team had started this way things we still wouldn't have won, but we were beating Tipp 5 points to four in the second half til Kelly scored about 15/20 minutes into the second half. Surely Liam Lawlor should have started full back and Brick centre. I know the fundamnetal flaws with our startegy still would have been there but we would have been better. Tipp are a very good team, and they really didn't need us to make it easy for them. Still don't know how they managed to get through for about 4 one on ones.

anyone feel like they never want to go to cork for a match ever again in there lifes ???.

The Traffic was woeful and the stadium needs to be knocked and rebuild asap. sure Paric Ui Rinn can be used as Corks home ground
Yeah traffic was terrible, stadium is miles away from the town, and to top it off I ended up sleeping rough with a bag of rubbish for a pillow, lol. Never going to a game there ever again.

Find it hard to blame any of the players for yesterdays result. Sure alot of them didnt perform , but you would have to say that our 6 backs were set up wrong and given the wrong instructions.
I think the players deserve some criticism, most of them played bad, making stupid passes straight to Tipp players, we couldn't win our own puckouts, even Mullane was making mistakes.

In the cold light of day I think your being a bit hard on the Waterford Team, up till the 31st minute it was 1-10 to 0-7 than then Tipp got 4 goals, that would be enough yo wipe most teams. I can't see that happening again and Waterford scored 19 points the same as Tipp. There was a good performance against Limerick and against Galway, Waterford will run them very close if not beat them.

I heard on the radio today that Davy had the team up at 6am running if that's true he needs a good talking too. The time for hard training is at the start of the year now is the time team building and motivation no matter how much training they get its not going to improve them.

It is scary tbh, and for the likes of Tony Browne, John Mullane, Brick etc. they must be scratching their heads aswell and wondering wtf is going on, very suprised that someone has'nt spoken out but I assume when he goes at the end of this year, we will hear alot of what went on in Davy's world.

    Yea Sunday week sorry!
    Double header with Limerick, Dublin.

Anyone know what happens to the minors?

EDIT: Dan talking on TV3 at half 5 during the news, should be somewhat interesting :P

Leave us now how that goes.

Good to hear about the match being fixed for Thurles.

As for the training session this morning i'd like to know what's involved. If they actually are training then he's completely lost the plot, but if it's just taking them to the pool or to the beach to walk in the water that would be ok, though 6am seems excessive, a really early rise after such a horrible day and then facing into work is not something anyone would like really.

Still sick over yesterday. True that Davy brought them to the beach (not sure which) and to Fraher field for training. I don't understand what the point is in running the sh!t outa the lads. I don't believe that the lads are unfit or anything I think it's their hurling that needs improvement as yesterday they couldn't catch a ball and first touch wasn't great. Just cannot see the point in having the players sprinting up and down a beach when other aspects of their game need to be worked on

Heard the minors drew KK this afternoon (don't ask how as I originally believed they'd either have Antrim or Galway, don't understand how Munster and Leinster runners-up can face each other)

As for Galway, I'll be there. Not expecting much but anything good that may come out of it will be a bonus at this stage.

Great to hear that it's a double header in Thurles. I think there could be two right games that day. At least I'm not working for this one, although it did save me from a very long journey back yesterday.

I posted on the Q/F thread that Lim v Dub should be the main game at 4. Its likely to be much the closer and entertaining game.

I agree with you on Davy and goalkeeping, and he should know one when he sees one and therefore for that reason sticks with Clinton. re the puckouts, I am sure that the way he pucks out the ball is in accordance with davy's wishes, therefore we have to blame him once again on that front.

I think the only thing that can cheer us up now is to hear tomkelly99's thoughts on the game!

I blame both him and the fellas that gave/kept him in the job.

Brick will be back at centre back. I'd say at the moment Liam Lawlor will be full back. One thing he has to do, and I've been saying for a while, is put Moran in midfield. Tipp have struggled there against Cork and Clare and yet they cleaned us out yesterday until Moran did better when placed in there. In fairness to Richie Foley he's only just back, but I think he should be put in the half back line. As for up front, I dunno what he'll do with the half forward line. When the right ball went into Shane O'Sullivan he got out for it but he played badly yesterday, we really need big performances for him if he is to continue in that role. Eoin McGrath won't start again. It would appear that Maurice will be wing forward. All in all, I know it's a while away yet but this Galway game won't be the hammering people are expecting.

In regards to this years championship what do Waterford, Dublin and Limerick have in common?

First answer yep. All out doing the traditional dual counties of Cork, Galway and Offaly

The only running that needs to be done is to run Davy out of the county and fast. Should never have been reappointed after the 2008 All-Ireland.
