That's odd. I thought it was held on gamertag. I had to change hard drives with super and it kept it I think

It kept my win percentage with the AE characters but it said 0 bp is my current bp maybe it hasn't reset I haven't had a chance to play online yet.

That final was insane. That was exactly like Daigo's Yun beasting in Champ's Dhalsim; but it was Yun being beasted on! Madness!

I never expected Poongko to win any big tournaments with Seth, I always thought he was just one of those noticable players you watch videos of, but never see at tournaments (Desk, Modinside). I've seen a lot of his Seth stuff before, some of which have him outright messing up on execution because of how many of Seth's special moves overlap and SF4's easy inputs.

The fact that NONE of that happened in a grand final against Yun was amazing. Nerves of steel!

(Also looking at the top 16, there were only 3 Yuns and one Yang)

Capcom purposely ruin game as excuse to justify more paid updates?

    NEVER!

I wonder will it actually be the case that Yun and Yang are actually ridiculously dominant by the time that supposed update rolls around?

I know that's what the Japanese arcade players have been saying, but that's not how Shadowloo showdown turned out.

Also remember in the early days of Super where people were swearing blind that Dudley was S tier?

Capcom always put a lot of time into their balancing, but it never seems to turn out QUITE like they expect.

    "Nerf Seth" for 2012?

If you look at our scene as an example, at the beginning of Vanilla there was one Sagat and one Sagat alone (AnimaX).

By the end, there was Chunkis, Tin, Dreddy, Malachi, and a good few others repping the tiger in tournaments. I believe the last vanilla tournament final on the channel is Sagat v Sagat, but the first certainly wasn't.

Yes, some secret tech for other characters might slip out, but it is looking likely to me as time runs on people will simply get better and better with the top tier characters as is only right and correct, really.

Whether you LIKE how AE has worked out is a different matter- so far, being honest, I don't find the twins the nightmare Vanilla Sagat was to me. But then again, Sagat wasn't a nightmare until a year after the games release.

That's a fair point, I didn't play Vanilla, so I have only heard tell of the terrors of Sagat in myths and legend.

I think I only played Sagat in a tournament match once in Vanilla - wish I'd learned him earlier than I did tbh, by the time I started to bother Super was almost out. My Sagat is awful anyway.

edit: Also Sagat was definitely a nightmare since the Japanese Arcade release, there was little question he was the best character in the game (apart from like day 1 thoughts that Rufus/Bison might be iirc). He's just difficult to play and there aren't many people who played him cause of it. Not just in here, look at the USA too. LI Joe was their best Sagat and he wasn't exactly fantastic.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,880 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

I'm actually learning him now and yeah he's not exactly easy to play at a decent level but he's definitely worth it. When I said Sagat wasn't a nightmare I meant specifically for me,, locally. I had no problem with any Sagats until about a year after the game came out.

I guess the Yun/ Yang thing depends on how easy they are to play. I'm not investing any time in them so I have no idea.

I had a wander around Dublin city today to see if I could pick up a copy earlier than mine would arrive in the post.

Spoke to bunch of lads I know working in game shops and the like, and it looks like this is actually not available in stores (not out of stock, not available).

GAME had it only via their online store, nobody else has it in their system or expects to get it in.

Bottom line: If you want it, you have to get it online.

Got my copy of AE just in the post today weird how I got so fast as I bought it on ebay on friday and got it today thats like one day delivery excluding weekend of course :D

That was on pre-release builds. Nobody said that after Super was released. Juri was really good in early builds too.

The've some what spoilt people by making it public how easy they can make/push changes. Just read event hubs and ono's trolling about 2k12 update of some sort. I'm gonna assume more changes, possible nerfs for the twins [as almost 90% keeps complaining about them?] and 2 more characters.

Kinda getting sick of the changes, just leaves a feeling of uncertainty. Leave it alone already

As a Blanka player I have found the twins not too bad so far. Though the rushdowns the some of the advanced players are doing look like hard work. Reminds me of MvC3.

The person I have the most problems with is that el fuerte bastard in the hands of a good player. He just goes through the electricity and does that throw seems to no matter what position I am in.

    Anyone any suggestions?

Keep distance build meter with elec and ex up ball if he jumps. If he has no meter keep pressure on him with cross ups

I'd say they're just gonna give them away if they do have 2 more tbh, i cant see them charging 15 euro again for 2 chars, they did say AE was the 'last sf4 game' or something to that effect. on the bright side if they do have 2 more chars hopefully they give some more balance tweaks, tighten up the difference between top and bottom tiers.

Yar, Capcom are usually pretty good at giving free DLC.

€15 for a rebalance and 2 characters is still cheaper than £75 or whatever the OGs paid during the SFII era.

I just bought a disc copy in a store here in Finland.

I still haven't played it yet though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 488 ✭✭the 1st hardter

Is not out in America or something??? Lots of tweets about disc release tomorrow or have some stores broken street date here???? Does not affect me since I have given my xbox hard drive to gf and told her not to give it back till I have my passport, tax and holiday money sorted. So about 2 weeks :-(

So I'm relying on you guys for casuals for my gaming atm

So tempted to buy this off Shopto now. 26 euro is not a bad deal. See what the pay is like this week with @rcadecon and all.

No-one's breaking any street dates. It's the norm for games to come out on Fridays here and on Tuesdays in the US (and on Thursdays in Japan, for that matter) and it just so happens that the release date here is, for once, on the Friday before the Tuesday on which it is released in the US.

Oh cool, I'm always used to Americans getting it first.
