RIGHt in your eyes clear that up first, plus I read all your posts as did many on here and all came to the same conclusion of you. When you have a disagreement with one person maybe just maybe its not you, but when your attitude has irked so many people on here there really is only one conclusion you can come to at the end of the day.

I didnt throw insults in your direction it was you who insulted smokers I tried to have a constructive argument with you but you were clearly unable to do that.

Now I say thank god your going good riddance to yeh. Heres hoping I never cross paths with you again.

There's no need for the persecution complex. I can comprehend perfectly what you're saying and I'm giving you my opinion as to why I think a complete prohibition of smoking is illiberal, unfair and unlikely to work.

You stopped being guided by evidence or reason a long time ago if you think banning smoking makes sense. It doesn't. Should it be restricted? Yes. And it is. Where is the evidence of second-hand smoke carcinogenesis in public parks with children up-wind? My opinion is that it's bloody unlikely; but if you've got better knowledge of the up-to-date literature then be my guest. I for one wouldn't be smoking next to the playground. Common sense and all that.

Of course smoking has deleterious health effects. It'd be foolish to pretend otherwise. What you can't quite understand though is that it is enjoyable. And there are also light-smokers, such as a guy who might buy a cigar every once in a while. Smoking is addictive but not all smokers are addicts.

And I wasn't insulting you. If anything you alleging that, as a smoker, I lack logic or reason was what I found to be tremendously insulting (and pompous) in this thread.

if I wanna smoke when I'm drinking. I go outside. Its the law and hey if someone doesnt want me smoking around them... fair enough. I'll take it outside.

If however someone OUTSIDE says "stop smoking" they can truly pi*s the f**k off.

I hate when people try to impose their will on to others over such trivial matters...

he/she is smoking in a hut, with fixed doors and windows, so what you don't smoke, you have a whole pub of smoke free air in which to frolic and breath, you've already got them put out, why does it matter what they sit in when they have a ciggerette.

There are lots of things I 'endure' because it is basic humanity to do so. There are lots of things that might or might not impinge on my health, I live my life with as much joy as I can. I live and let live to a large degree. I take risks because 20 extra years watching the likes of you arrogantly bouncing around a nursing home doesn't hold a huge attraction for me.
Wrapping children in cotton wool is a form of abuse in my book too. Lighten up, don't be so manipulated by self perpetuating agencies of doom, like H&S.

You've never seen anyone die from lung cancer. Let me tell you, you gotta see it. It's f*cking hilarious! They're laughing, reminiscing about the good old days, cracking jokes. Man I was never so happy as to see my uncle there in the hospice, bouncing around the bed, not a bother on him, hollering and whooping, then *BAM* gone like a light, no pain, with a smile on his happy face.

That's how I remember it anyway.

I know the risks, as somebody who flies, drives, walks across the f***ing road knows the risks.

I was just pointing out that it'll be a fun time. Of course non-smokers don't get cancer, how can a holier than thou being fall foul to such a thing?

They also don't die in plane, car or pedestrian accidents.

Fuk that. If you send smokers outside every day of the year, they belong outside.. What should they do when it's sunny? Have a stroll down the road?
