I would think it's running slow as with all the new handsets being activated today and people loading up on apps.

Been trying out 'Tune in Radio', FREE from the market

It's awesome, has ALL the Dublin Radio stations on, checked for some smaller obsucre radio stations from back home in Wales and it has them too.

    An excellent internet radio :D:D
    Fantastic app. :)

Actually, if I could get a Wifi-enabled DAB radio that I could wirelessly connect to the router and used the TuneIn backend to get the same station selection, that'd be ideal for the kitchen etc.

    Anyone have any ideas? :)

Ok I know so little about these things, but if it works on your phone, could you connect it a system you have in the kitchen to play it through its speakers? Like a thing that goes from headphone jack into radio player but using the tape slot?

I'm thinking something like that, only getting Android tomorrow so this link would be great if I could hear Yorkshire Radio (Leeds fan!)

    Bawnmore,

Just downloaded and installed GMote with no problems whatsoever, worked first time. Did you allow permissions etc through your PC firewall/security?

On a completely seperate note, can anyone tell me how to store locations on the Navigation app? I'm used to using Garmins etc and always being able to key in destinations and keep them as favourites which can be called on at any time but I can't seem to find a way to do this in Navigation.

    Ben

Just go down to PC World and buy a set of speakers, make sure they have the right socket though. Put them discreetly in the corners of yer kitchen and leave the socket somewhere easy to get to.

When ya want radio just plug it into your Droid. Instant DAB ;)

    APNdroid widget,

It allows you to toggle on and off the phones 3g internet connection from the home screen so ya don't end up with any unexpected bills or lost credit when your out and about away from wifi.
Simple to use, Green for open, red for off and thats pretty much it. :)

I'm having problems downloading the bigger apps, mostly games. I can download the smaller ones but when i'm trying to get Bubble blast 2 i'm constantly getting the failed to download message and it's the same with other big files. It's a new phone (HTC Desire)so there's plenty of space on it.
    Anyone with any suggestions please?

Do you have to pay for apps on the market with your credit card? Can you not just use the credit on your phone.

Im using iphone at the minute, but hope to be going back to android soon.

Question - I downloaded the Ricky gervais audiobooks from itunes, is there a way that these books can be bought on android, or put onto android?

I know ill have to buy them again, but are they exclusively for itunes?

That could be a pretty good business model actually, buy apps, pizza etc by texting a premium rate number, get a text back with a payment number to enter online or read over the phone

the guys behind angry birds have a payment system along those lines but its not over here yet.
the 'contract' is between you and the app maker so nothing for the networks to get involved for.
afaik none of the networks have that system in place yet to change this.

    Just found this

    http://jaumard.android.free.fr/widgetsoid/
    http://www.appbrain.com/app/widgetsoid2-x/com.jim2

It allows you to create a widget with shortcuts to turn on / off 3G, WiFi, Speakers, airplane mode etc. etc. and you can create shortcuts to apps.
It's the most customisable one I've found so far and works fine for me.

+1, I bought switch pro a couple months back and found this when I was setting up a few Christmas presents. It's really functional and has more theme options than switch pro too.

I can't see why anyone would use anything else at the minute.

This one does much of the same but I think it packs it all into a smaller space:
    Extended Controls: http://www.appbrain.com/app/extended-controls/com.extendedcontrols

Just got the Galaxy S and while I have been using FXCamera as a great app. the optional resolurions don't make use of the 5MPcamera.
Any other apps worth looking at ?
Have been sticking to the camera app that comes with it but it's a little slow for my liking.
