Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've only used the Logitech Driving Force GT and I'm love with it, the best would probably be the G25 or G27 (newer version of G25) but they are pretty expensive. Personnaly I can't recommend the DFGT enough.

Just picked up a Driving Force gt today myself, no WAY i could justify price of a g27, but I have to say it's a lovely wheel, I was a little bit tentative at first steering violently against the force feed back but its sturdy built. Slowly getting the hang of the wheel, but I can hold drifts for ages with the pad and can barely lap a rear wheel drive over 200hp with the wheel at the moment :P Enjoying Nurburgring freeruns with loads of randoms :D

add me, psn longwhitecross, try to race pretty cleanly and be cool to have others the same

If you go to the main menu where you can choose GT mode or arcade mode and go into settings it's in there. There is a number of different lists and I think it's down three or four lists. The first option of the list should say 'Opening movie' or something similar giving you the optgion to disable and the installation is three or four sentences down.

Yeah its great, people setup trackday like events and you just sit there and cruise round the 'ring (or any track, but really, theres only one ;D), day turns into night (really scary track in the dark), tyres wear down and you pit for fuel, then out and go round again. Awesome fun.

Over at GTPLANET forums there's a vid of a fella winning the gokarting special races backwords. It actually drives faster and relatively speaking is much, much harder to spin. I tried it myself, couldnt get a win though, but for somereason the karts elude me control wise anyway.

There is probably some simple way of doing it but is there any way of saving two seperate games of Gran Turismo on the same console to have two seperate profiles?

Do you mean like creating a new user account on the PS3? Or do you mean you want two separate profiles in the same user account?

I think the only way to do what you're looking for is to create a new user on the PS3 (scroll all the way to the left on the PS3 main menu, press triangle on your user profile and sign out, and then select create new user). When you make separate users on the PS3 they'll have their own profile, PlayStation Network account and saves etc.

Is that what you were looking for?

Basically theres two people in the house trying to play Gran Turismo and just want to be able to play our own saves of the game. If that means setting up a whole new user I don't mind that.

Yeah so if you just set up a new user like I explained before you'll have your own profiles and saves. If your PS3 is connected to the internet it means each user account will have it's own PlayStation Network account as well. If you download any other games or stuff for Gran Turismo from the PlayStation Store it'll work with any user profile that's on your PS3.

Anyone any recommendations for a cheap enough car that can beat the GT All Stars championship?

surprised you haven't seen this about.... buy the corvette (zr1?) the newest one! and get it race modded in the auto shop. add all the tuning you can and turn the downforce all the way up!

should cost about 500,000 and will win about three or four race events for you!

How do I put the downforce on full?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

I got the Mazda Furai by (iirc) winning the roadster championship in B-spec mode. The thing is a ****ing animal, 500bhp @ 600kg (I think I modded it a bit though). It's after winning me a solid fortune since.
IMO, anyone who's B-spec driver is at that level should give it a go. The GT World Championships, The Tuned Car Championships and The Japanese Championships are just some of the events that this thing absolutely destroyed.

Go to Tuning, next Body & Chassis ( 1st one on the list) & Aero.
Tune the front aero to the max(35) & zero on the rear(30).

it might be worth waiting to see what that thrustmaster wheel is like considering it should be around the same price as the g27. the fanatec gt2 is supposed to be good too but its very pricey.

I have the 97 Civic Type R EK, and ive bought all the Engine, Exhaust and Turbo Upgrades.
But if i do the Racing Modifications i hear i lose them upgrades?
Does that mean i have to buy them all again, or will they still be in my possession and i just have to fit them?
Also what does the Racing Modification Do in terms of power, how much extra BHP on the civic does anyone know? Mines at 370 now i think.

Racing modification doesnt increase bhp, it gives further weight reduction, transmission and suspension upgrades, better aerodynamics and adds sponsor decals to your car. Also to get the most out of a car, you should race mod first, then install any upgrades after. Any upgrades youve bought already will be in your garage, you dont have to buy them again, just reinstall after race modding

Heres a good guide i found on what race modding does to the cars it applies to

The ZR1 seems to be the best car to race mod, i have one myself and it really is class, well worth the money
