27 Methally ASCOT 1:30 , back to half decent mark, and 7f, won ladies race this year, and may be priomed again for this, value at 50/1 EW

    1 Point EW

28 Musaafar, Ascot 3:15. Hint that he is persisted with over 1m, in a muddling race, he was obviously highly tough of and wouldnt be a 25/1 surprise if he came back to some form here.

    1 Point Each way 25/1

Thanks to this post, I had Rosko, Methally and Abbondanza in combination forecasts and tricasts. Unfortunately, I placed the larger wagers on the tricasts instead of the forecasts. Still a nice little win.

    Thanks Aidan!!

Yes, the problem is that I usually play the forecast at 50c a line and the tricast at 25c a line - they hardly ever come in. Unfortunately, in my rush I reversed the order so I put 27c on each line of the combination forecast.

So for a 27c bet, it returned CAD $114.74 ( On that site I wager in Canadian dollars)

Beethoven, 33/1 EW, Sussex, just looks Epic Value to be placed here, may not be much between him and Premio Loco but he's 4 times the price. Good Tough animal that might Mustle his way into a place.

    2 Points Each WAY

Caun Na Grai, 14/1 Galway Plate. His record on good ground is really top class, and could easily be the best horse in the race, looks well in to me in this field. Loves the course won the galway hurdle a few years back

    3 Points Win

Issabella Gem Goodwood 4:00, might just have a few pounds in hand on the handicapper here in a difficult looking race, and looks overpriced and has looked like the step up in trip would help.

1 Point Each Way 33/1 Stan James

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

No Stopping Sarah, Galway 3:35, not sure of price but anything above 20/1 would be good value, ran a very decent race in a novice at the festival last year, a reproduction of which would put him well in in the handicap, poor engough runs this year but Paul Townend back on, and possibly readied for today.

1 PT Each Way if 20/1 or Over.. currently 19.0 on Betfair

Borderlescott 2:45 Goodwood, 7/1 Ladborkes. He looks the only one in the field who can live at Group 1 level and really should be a few pounds clear of these, the draw is not that bad, and 7/1 looks too big.

    3 Points Win

Gloucester 28/1 EW, on a form line with the Fav Overturn, he has a huge turnaround in the weights of a stone for 4length in the Scottish Hurdle, and should be good value to place here.

2 Points Each Way 28/1 Paddy Power paying 12345

Joseph Henry Goodwood 2:45, has been consistant this year of around this mark, and last race was eyecatching in that he was drawn on wrong side and ran well. Looks overpriced to place. Betfair 40win 8 place.

1 Point win 2 Points Place

Sea Of Leaves, Same Race, Fallon up and he has won before on this one, last run was ok, but might just be ready to go here at a good price. Betfair 28 win 8 place

1 Point win 2 Points Place

    Thanks again Aidan.

I had $5 each way on him when I saw this post, then when I saw Hugh Taylor on him too, I put another $5 each way and $3 to win. All small stakes, but returned $500. I had a few other lucky bets along the way and then I withdrew my day's winnings from my account so I wouldn't spend it back like I have many times before.

I had $32 or so left over, so I put it all on a few F/C and T/C Virtual horse races. I was kicking myself when I saw a huge payout ($8114) for a sequence I usually bet on, but didn't this time. When I refreshed my account, I realized almost the identical sequence had come up and I was on them!! I had 20c bets and the odds were ($20,094.)!!!!!

My second best day ever, and it was jump started by you and Joseph Henry!!

    Thank you Aidan!!

    SATURDAY 31ST JULY 2010 - GOODWOOD, 15:40
Hitchins, ticks all the right boxes for me in this super competitive handicap, looks like he has been aimed for this with fewer runs this year, is of a very decent mark, has a super jockey up and looks value at 30.0 win and 7.4 to place. He may also have the ideal high draw.

Bet: 1 Point Each Way Bet365 28-1 paying 12345 or Betfair 1 point win & 1 point place.

Evens and Odds, again may have been readied after a half decent listed run earlier this year behind Equiano, similar to last years profile when he put in 2 poorish runs before finishing 2nd in this race of the same mark also with a decent claimer on board. Currently 27 win 7.4 place.

Bet: 1 Point Each Way Bet365 25-1 paying 12345 or Betfair1 point win & point place

    Brighton 3:30

Bet 39 Musical Script, has been running well at the course, and is down to a good mark, last race was decent enough, and can come of the pace here with a decent chance of placing. Betfair win 50 place 12.5. Overpriced

1 Point Win 1 Point Place.

jeez it came from miles back, very fast in the finish, probably worth watching next time of this mark.. My 12.5 ended up being reduced to 10.5..

One to watch for sure. Great pick by the way. If I'd have had more time to think about I'd have placed as well, but thems the breaks but I have to give you props for picking that one out. :)

    3:10 Newmarket - Mata Keranjan
This horse has been one to avoid trying to break his maiden on a number of occasions, but gets in here on a very decent mark, taking into consideration that he finally won a race (albeit a very poor maiden a few days ago) that may bring him on. He ran a very decent race over the C&D earlier on this year off a far higher mark, and the odds of him improving are better than his current odds of 24.0 win 4.8 place
Bet: 1 Point Win 1 Point Place

    4:35 Haydock - Fullandby
His last race looked like a return to some form after previous very poor runs. The softer going and his current mark should give him an excellent chance considering he won and ran well of higher marks last year, once there was some cut in the going. Currently 15.0 win 3.5 place
Bet: 1 Point Win 1 Point Place

    4:30 Ascot: Macarthur
His last run was eye-catching in that he passed a lot of horses from a very poor position over a longer trip, but the combination of his mark here and very decent jockey up should see him in with a chance at a good price to recapture some of his old form. Currently 10 to win.
    Bet: 1 Point Win

    3:25 Haydock: Dream Lodge
In a very difficult race, the top weight he has to carry is helped by excellent 5lbs claimer and the fact that he has come down a few pounds this year while running well. His run at York off 3 lbs higher with no claimer on boards reads well for this race, as he stayed on well and the extra two furlongs might just suit. Currently 24.0 to win 4.7 place
Bet: 1 Point Win 1 Point Place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

Grean Manalishi, 3:45 Beverley. Last few runs have been poor over 6f, but has come back suddenly from poor runs numerous times in the past, he is dropped back to 5f here and is of a very good mark.

1 Point Each way 14/1 Generally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,473 ✭✭✭longshotvalue

Fatanah 4:05 Salisbury, overpriced because Hills chosen the wrong one, last run was poor enough , but in a far superiour race, and run before would be enough to take this race, looks overpriced.

    1 Point Each Way 12/1
