Lads any chance Liam Watson will get man of the match? He was the only one that kept that game interesting..
Between his almost should have been red card in the first few minutes, his classy scores, his refusal to tie both straps on his helmet, his walking on the panel numerous times, he took those 2 free well(though they were saved) and then his brawl with Gardiner.

So yea apart from him that match was horrible to watch. My MOTM definitely :pac:

    EDIT GAME 2:
Mon Joe, you can do it!! :)

Kilkenny are gonna kill cork if they continue this way :o Hope dinny is interviewed :) EDIT: deise for cork niall mccarthy. Could be him although he got subbed sooo..could be watson. He was very impressive. Some of his scores from play were epic.

    Gutted.
But lads. What a game. What a fucking game. Wow. Best game of the year by far.
    Shit game to lose though....:(

Meh, I'll say more when I've recovered a bit.

Feel so sorry for Galway. Think the ref might have been a bit hard on them at times. Good game though.

Hard loss for galway but tipp really pushed them in the end and lar's finishing point really was magnificent. Can't say tipp didn't deserve it either. When Liam sheedy replaced noel mcgrath, I was stunned though. Even facepalmed when conor o brien came on. Not a fan of his atal but what can I say great game overall. And joe impressed me today as well as seamie callanan when he came on.

Wonder what davy fitz is like after watching that.

That game was amazing, by far the best of the year. Galway be absolute gutted over it, their players stood up but were caught on the hop. Ermm theres only 2 faults with Galway tbh because otherwise they did play extremely well. I think 1 of those goals(if not 2) Eoin Kellys goal and possibly the one in the second half(cant remember properly) could have been saved tbh, or deflected to a "65", yee've a weak keeper :/
Also Galway struggle to finish out a game(The first Offaly game, Wexford and last year agianst Waterford) its just not a strong point.
Sheedy was panicing for that game though, taking of Young in the first half and telling Kelly to go for a gaol from a free when you would think a point would be sufficient.
Hard luck to Galway this time last year the same thing happend, caught on the hop at the end(though that wasnt a close game for the most)

Now bring on Tipp, I think we can take them!! My optimism is gone really high... :o:P

Yeah, all that's true. The last ten minutes we really struggled, and well I dunno about the keeper, Callanan's had plenty of good games, both in club and county. It might be an idea to bring out Skehill again, he's probably a better keeper in the end, he just has confidence problems after he conceeds a goal from what I saw when he was first-choice in 2008.
Ah well, I have to say Tipp probably deserved it in the end. Dunno how Noel McGrath was taken off for them, but I wasn't complaining.
Joe had one of his better games today, still lacking a bit from play though, he wasn't given an inch by the Tipp backs. Great dead balls though, no missed. Farragher did well today too, scored some epic points from far out, and Eanna Ryan should be mentioned too, superb game until he got injured.
Ara, I suppose I'm proud, best game Galway played in ages.
Semi-finals should be interesting anyway, especially Waterford/Tipp. Can't pick a winner, we'll have to see!

EDIT: Oh yeah, some positive news...
Galway minors beat Waterford minors today...well, that's something anyway :)

Tbf, Tipp's defence were very strong and seemed to pin point joe as a threat throughout the game.
But when they leaked, they did badly. I think it was hayes who scored the goal but by god, did curran make a mess of that ball. He fell yet Flicked the sliothar out infront of hayes. Shocking.

And tbf deise, don't think sheedy was panicking that much myself. Young wasn't great. Sheedy made the perfect substitution with callanan (think twas him?). Most of his changes really made an impact.
And with galway with their arms around tipp's neck constantly throughout the match, he'd have to try and go for goal :P Like any manager he was nervous but he made enough correct decisions.

I think the word epic is overused but the Galway Tipp game was epic.

    Draw;

    Meath / Kildare
    Kerry / Down
    Tyrone / Dublin
    Roscommon / Cork

At least we avoided Kerry and got on the right side of the draw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,553 ✭✭✭soccymonster

    Dublin v Tyrone.
    Meath v Kildare.
    Cork v Roscommon.
    Kerry v Down.

If anyone wants to know the quarter final draws.
Expect Tyrone, Kildare, Cork and Kerry to win these ones.
But anything can happen on a given day.

EDIT: Unknown ya beat me to it :D:P

Dublin will get the ****e kicked out of them. Tyrone are the best team in the country, and I say that as a Kerry person (living in Meath).

Cork will batter Roscommon, Kerry will have a tough one against Down, but I'd say they'll scrape by. Meath/Kildare is a pick'em, with Meath having a slight edge.

Sorry but Rugby is for losers. Its a game where fat people lie on top of each other for most of the time.

Sorry, but Dublin GAA is the biggest bandwagon in years. Feck all people went to the qualifiers and Leinster matches and wait, next week will be hard to get tickets since Dublin are in the All Ireland.

Pretty much everything's a bandwagon these days tbh. Someone somewhere says something is good, and suddenly everyone wants in.

I'm aware of that. Your man D.R. Cowboy was saying he didn't want to go to Croke Park to see Ireland play. That's all.

True, I hate the GAA as well. It annoys me that theres hardcore fans that go all matches in parnell park/croke park and minute it goes to the All Ireland stage, tickets only to the clubs.

It annoys me though, they are true fans of the sport. The minute Ireland go ****e, its all forgotten about.

I'm a football fan, I try to a few bohs matches every year and few Ireland matches when I can get a few friends to go as well. I'm not saying you need go to games to be a fan of the sport btw.

That's the part of GAA I despise. I'd be a big fan of Kerry GAA, go to the majority of the league games, Munster championship games, normal championship games etc. and for every All Ireland we find it hard to get great tickets. Yet, people in my class who never attend games get brilliant tickets, including a girl who only went to the All Ireland last year and got tickets in the middle of Hogan Stand

I remember when Limerick got to the AI final in '07.
Went to all of the Championship matches and most of the league games that year and it was almost impossible to get tickets to the final because all of a sudden, the whole county decided that they were interested!
Ended up getting a shítty seat behind the goals in row z.. -_-
