Looks like NASA are still shooting for a february 7th launch. They're doing a bit of a McGuyver job on the ammonia lines, hoping it'll work out.
Yeah looks that way. I don't like the idea of a "rush job" to get it launched. I think the SSP team may be under indirect pressure to see out the schedule. I hope not.:(

I could never really get into 'mission patch's'
I liked the one that you posted Beeker(was it Apollo 10)on another thread,You said it was an all navy crew(i always thought crews had a background in the airforce,at least for Mercury,Gemini, and Apollo.designed by the crew and included an Astronaut that was assigned the mission but died before it.
Beeker surely they will not compromise safety at this stage, they even have permission not to from the very top!
I would not care if there were no missions until July rather than a curtailed one or half baked idea's by the 'tiger team'.I had read about their proposals on the net for the improvised method to allow 3 EVA's on Sunday, decided not to post as there is so much misinformation for over a year now by NASA&Press:mad:

LL about Your sad face emocians about badge number 3,Well ya know it aint over till the fat lady sings;)
How did Your trial version of the Shuttle simulator go?
What was the worst You done?????? My Guess is You Crashed into the VAB at lift-off and got no further!:D

Stargate Great to see ya posting again,It bugs Me that there is no ISS thread in Space&Astronomy, really the ISS is what these STS remaining flights are all about!!!!!
I suppose You know NASA,s website is broadcasting video from external cameras on the ISS? I was always just getting the graphics but last night great view as it passed its 45 mins of daylight over Earth,Crew on ISS were asleep so no change of camera's,but Earth,Solar panels,Soyuz and progress were all clearly in view.:)
Did not see the naked eye view though:(

God Slow STS 130 if nescesary;)

Lol i guess guys would need 'something' to see them through!

Meanwhile nasa have decided to go ahead with the full 3 EVA mission on due date but timeline getting tight. They are going ahead with the Tiger teams 'fix' for the pipes problem.

    Yeah,Ron Howard directed it.

While i think of it,if you have Discovery Science tv channel there's a programme on saturday night at 19.00,"inside the space shuttle".

I see also on Ceefax page 154(Tech news) that the director of ESA is putting the pressure on for an extension of the ISS until 2020,and complaining that the uncertainty is preventing them making plans.
I wonder WHO he might be directing that at?at this particulor time;)!

If you're into Twitter then you might want to follow Nicholas Patrick(MS) who's flying on board Endeavour.

As a matter of interest, I met STS-130 Mission Specialist Stephen Robinson back in 1999 when he gave a talk on spaceflight at Waterford IT, Nice guy. This will be his 4th Shuttle flight.

Loads of stuff in the press, secret meetings with Bolden,Obama not even to give the one billion, never mind 3 billion dollars. No big 'announcement in State of the union or at all, most saying it will be given its budget and it can decide its priorities and yadah yadah yadah.................

This link is interesting and it has one certainty, for those who like the mission badges you can download and print it here as well as reading the full story about its design!http://www.cfnews13.com/Space/DestinationSpace/2010/1/21/endeavours_mission_sts130_facts.html

    inside cupolo!

linklistbullet.jpg The Cupola module will be detached from the front port of Tranquility on Flight Day 8, and relocated to Tranquility nadir.
linklistbullet.jpg Cupola is 4.9 feet in length, 9.7 feet in diameter, and will weigh about 4,145 pounds in orbit.
linklistbullet.jpg The observatory includes window shutters that provide orbital debris protection when closed.
linklistbullet.jpg The module includes seven windows -- six around the sides and one on the top. Once installed, it will offer a breathtaking, 360-degree view of Earth and incoming spacecraft

I saw the Cupola in the Space Station assembly building at Kennedy in 2008:)

TBH, there's not gonna be much science done once the Cupola is installed! I know all I'd be doing if I was on the ISS would be staring out of it at Earth.
