You must be some player King, every game is either disappointing or average. You wouldn't be happy with an 85-88 average then?

Of course its average in a World Championship second round, dont be silly.

    Great!! :eek::D

Time for the 11 or more 180s bet, I've stuck the rest of the money from my betting account on this....COME ON!! Heard Anderson has flu  hope it doesn't effect him.

You're doing well tonight, you know your darts! Best of luck with the last bet, should be way more than 11 180's!:)

Yeah, Baxter throwing very well. Isn't he on the same side of the draw as Barney? Think he would beat him throwing like that.

I think it did effect him, too may 56's, 58's and crap like that but I think Baxter would have won anyway, he was on fire tonight! Unlucky with the bet!:(

You are some wind up merchant. Yes I would, but then again I play in the Dun Laoghaire Borough League and not the Wolrd Championships!

go on baxter. Dont be surprised to see him in the final!!

Great display by the Rocket tonight. I reckon with the way he's throwing at the moment he has a great chance of progressing to the final but Colin Lloyd will be a tough opponent next round. Had a good night profit wise, got a 20 euro betting voucher as an xmas gift and put a double on Webster @ 1/2 and Baxter @ 15/8,made a nice profit of 86 euros and 25 cents, happy days!:D

Baxter will mop Lloyd in round 3, could have a good chance vs Barney in the quarters if they both throw like they did tonight. Then Wade will take him out. Imo.

how in gods name was gary anderson 4th favourit for this??? every big tournament this year he has dissapointed every time, has he even made a 1/4 final of a big pdc televised event yet? has he beaten any1 that has given him a test?? he just buckless under any pressure... im a big fan of his but he has being a massive let down this year

Its like the grass is always greener, Anderson was hailed as being better than Phil Taylor before he made the switch to the PDC, but it appears he's not yet able for the big time and keeps bottling it when the pressure comes on.

Baxter is having some year, he could of been like Wayne Mardle but Baxter went in one direction and Mardle the other.

Anderson is a strange one. You would wonder if he puts in the hours whe he is not playing. He obviously has the raw talent for the game but he just doesnt seem to take it seriously enough. I'd love to see him step up to the plate though.

Lewis is the one i want to see come good though. Id love to see him crowned World Champion and back in the premier league where he belongs.

Hamilton Beaton on now this could be a cracker. Gonna go for Beaton by a short head.

How is wade playing? Havent seen any of his games yet

I enjoyed this article on the darts from the UK Times.
Its got one of the best sport sections along with the UK Independent if you ever need to waste time in work.

Barney has to get past a certain Mr. Painter first who could easily knock him out! I have to say though that Baxter was quality last night, he won all of the important legs and fully deserved the win. Anderson was a big disappointment, it's usually his doubles that let him down but it was his scoring that never got going last night.

Good match on at the moment between Hamilton and Beaten. It's 1-1 in sets but Beaten is looking the better of the two. I love his throwing style, it looks so effortless!

i think he doubts he can do it, he said in the interview be4 the game that its not baxter hes playin its himself and this year is only a learning curve

i duno how anyone would say hes better than taylor, hes capable of being up there on his day but i think he could do with some1 training him like bristow and giving him confidence that hes good enough...

when i saw him laughin at the jocky wilson after being beatin by james wade 6-4 after being 4-0 up i felt like throwin the remote at the tv, youd never see taylor do that

Whitlock playing some quality stuff again, really is a dark horse for the title.

does anybody fancy lewis at 16/1 to be world champ, i fancy him to beat taylor this time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,089 ✭✭✭✭briany

Whitlock has both a distinctive look and the ability to play really great darts which makes him a top draw in my opinion. I remember seeing him on the BDO a couple of years back as well and he make it to the finals of their world championship so who knows. Barneveld didn't impress me last night despite the great nine darter. I should think that the moment he comes up against a proper in form player then that'll be the end of his run in this tournament unfortunately:o.

Great match between Wade and MvG. It could have gone either way with some real quality from both. Very disappointed that MvG is gone because it's the best I have seen him play in a while.

Go on Jackpot you legend, 8 180's in 9 legs.

The Power better watch out in the quarters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 465 ✭✭greened

taylorcould be in trouble on that form by Lewis. Lewis will need to forget about the crowd and think of nothing only winning to beat taylor. I expect it will go very close with Lewis blowing up when it matters and taylor killing the game off in the way he is so good at doing. I think Lewis has made to much of the fact that he and Taylor may meet in the quarters (they will now) and that may come back to haunt him. Saying that I would like to see Lewis win as it would be a great achievment for him.

Lewis is in the form of his life at the moment and defintley has the potential to beat Taylor but i fear that his game will collapse against Taylor because he seems to show far too much respect to Taylor which Taylor will use to his advantadge and tonight with the crowd getting noisy during his game against McDine he was easily distracted and this will all work in Taylor's favour. I hope Lewis will prove me wrong hopefully.
