The main time waster here is your good self sir.

You seem to be under the impression that I should ( correct me if I'm wrong here ) ring Flipper and ask him for the number of the Macau to get an answer to my question.

This is a ( open to correction again here ) a thread about the upcoming Macau Festival and I just asked the organiser a question and since I've posted you and one other seemed intent on hijacking this thread into something that it isn't and using me as the catalyst to start an argument.

At this stage my original post is back in the pile surrounded by your troll like retorts, which now doubt will lead it being missed by the OP who it is directed to.

If you are part of the Macau staff or have some other connection you should consider the way you post. You have convinced yourself that I'm some longlegs character. I've told you once ( in a good humoured way )that I'm not but you persist with your assertion. If you do not have an official capacity I suggest that you are doing them a diservice.

TBH if you are a representative of this place I think I'll just stay put behind The Pale for the week.

    Cheers

Not me... but I'm still trying..

Just like to double check one thing I know in the UK you cannot enter a casino if you're employed in another I presume that doesn't hold for the Macau does it?

I'm only asking because I'm thinking of going down to Cork to play in the tournament ( prob only afford a sat or one of the supporting events :o) because it sounds fairly well run with a good structure etc. I do a bit of contract catering for one of the casinos in Dublin ( not my only client pm me for quotes:):) ) but could be classed as a casino employee.

I'm sure its not the case as its a UK regulation but I'd like to get a quick confirmation from the organiser so I can plan my trip ( and going by most accounts pick up a few catering tips to boot :) )
Which Dublin casino are you catering for Kevin?I didn't know you had taken to cooking:D
    Dave147 wrote: »
Are you sure about that? Ken said someone who is employed in another Casino is not barred and is allowed play? Hmmm, that's quite interesting.

I'm fairly certain that Macau house policy is that employees of casinos/cardrooms in Cork are not allowed to frequent their establishment. The same is true of their own staff ie. they are not allowed to frequent other Cork casinos.Hope this clears things up for you Dave.I'd have thought you would have first hand information of Macau house policy all things condidered.

Why would I Kieran? I've absolutely nothing to do with the macau, my situation has nothing to do with what I'm talking about, I have no interest in going to the Macau. However, this person has been a customer of the Macau for a number of years, they've gladly taken his money and when he tries to further his own life especially in these precarious times he's no longer welcome. Maybe they should award him back the rake he paid.

Its a bit like a restaurant owner being refused from another restaurant because he's competition, it doesn't happen. Actually that comparison is very appropriate isn't it.

Comments about my private life are unappreciated, despite how unsecret what you know actually is.

I'm sorry if i've offended you Dave but you come on to boards trying to stir it as if you know nothing about nothing when in fact you have spousal info on the place.Time to draw out the snakes on this Cork virus imo.

I would also have no problem with a dignified discussion with anything to do with Macau and I have often been highly critical of them myself. What I object to is the underhand and snide shiite that is employed by the likes of Dave147 and others in all Macau threads. If you or anyone else has something to say grow a pair and say it without the angleshoot tactics.

The likes of me? Stop talking ****. This is the first time i've said anything about the macau, it's ridiculous and i'm not hiding who i am, what was done is wrong, i'm not attempting to troll, my post history will tell you that, i genuinely feel that this person - who is a friend of mine - was treated like **** because he is somewhat involved in another establishment. If you want to bar him do it after he's played the event in which he's entitled to play. If you're going to retort, try and do it without any petty accusations as it's obvious i'm not 'angleshooting'.

For the record, I think the Macau is a great casino, I always enjoyed the tournaments and the craic there, for personal reasons i don't play there anymore. Don't take that to mean I have something against the club, I don't. I'm not barred. At least not that I'm aware of, didn't mean to derail the thread, but I felt I had to pull corkie123 on his response to Connie69. I still feel the same but what can ya do?

i thought i was doing someone a favour here but to find out it was the usual people taking the piss .
and as u said about looking at past posts do it yourself and u see the lies by connie69 .

i see that they now started a tread about what was really wrong with them

Sean, you might have taken me up wrong. What I meant is you responded to Connie69 saying you spoke to Ken and he said it was ok that someone from another casino could play in their main event. If this is true then the hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Especially seeing as this friend of mine isn't an employee of the Bank, he just does food there. He's not an employ of the Macau, so he should be able to work or play wherever he wants. It's the whole attitude of the Cork poker scene which has facilitated all this hostility, I see no reason why two clubs can't coexist without all this bitterness and rivalry.

dave i agree with u as far as our friend is concerned but i would have went about it differently . but as in life some people care but most dont give a **** really they talk about it but do nothing they dont care unless its about themselfs

I tried and no good. Think it was a 100 a night for a 2 person room. I booked Jury's which was 100 a night too but book two nights and get 3rd free so . 209 for three nights is pretty good imo.

I got the clarion fri and sat for 170 which seems fair enough that jurys offer is decent though.

Its €100 which is the exact same rate as the website.

Best thing seems to be to book it with booking.com/hotels.com which works out at €85 per night
