I think mods should be spayed, they're breeding like rabbits.

This is how I see it.....

People who give out about mods want to be mods.

    End of argument.

    Until it comes true.

Paid in something better than money, inflicting pain on the posters, makes us feel so good.

I gave him War and Peace, and the hot milk will most likely leave a sour taste.

To be serious for a moment.

No we're not paid, there are no benefits of any kind.

Most of us do the job because we believe in boards.ie and want to make a difference and hopefully improve the experience for everyone.

We're human, so we make mistakes - mistakes which some people are quick enough to go whinging about, but never ONCE 'tipping their hat in acknowledgement for the sh*t we put up with or the small ways in which we make life here a little better.

So there ya go, we're not paid in any way shape or form.

I think moderators to be a little like referees - when they do their job well, you don't even notice that they are there.
if the referee is the central figure in a game, he's not doing his job.

Threatening a poster because they disagreed with you (in a gentle, polite manner) is not moderating. It's abuse of power and damaging to a forum.

think thats bad?! I was only made mod recently, and, because i have to declare the payments to tax man, and the budget kicking in last month, its pushed me up into the next tax band. I'm now making less money thanks to this place! and the revenue wont believe me if I quit now, so I can't change it back til next year. f'in joke if you ask me, Dev and co should warn people about this. Im already struggling with loan repayments.

i have bread, its a few days old, so we'll have to toast it. cheese on toast sounds ok.

Just wish the Admins had a warning about this on the email we get when we're buying mod forum access/mod status. It should be in terms and conditions like. Its like a pyramid scheme, i bought in expecting to make money, and I'm actually down. con artistry IMO. I started a helpdesk thread and it was locked and deleted too. Admins obviously thought I'd scare more people off buying into their scam.

We're paid with tar (bitumen), which is applied with very big brushes. It's lovely, kinda tickly. Stickytickly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

Tar won't be happy you let that one slip.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 11,251 Mod ✭✭✭✭humberklog

Surprisingly slippery editing considering all the tar (bitumen).

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,119 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

Don't worry, when I apply myself you get very 'stickytickly' too.

Well you must be getting paid if you're on call like that!!
Did they give you a pager that beeps whenever 'Tar' is tapped down the pipes?!
