Thats week two of the running programme out of the way, Do I feel any fitter? No, Can I run any further? Maybe, do my legs hurt? Yes, Im I looking forward to week three of the programme? No, is it doing me any good,? Who knows. Im I going to keep at it? Most definitely.

gave me a chuckle there ^^^

it'l take a few weeks for you to really start feeling the benefit. well that was my case anyway. iv been running for about three years and if i remember rightly it took a good month or so before i thought yeah i def couldnt have done that before. good feeling when you breeze through a few miles without the feeling of an impending coronary.

got to the point now where i actually miss going for my lunchtime run if i cant go for any reason (sad i know). had a really physical footy match last night and know that will suffice for today yet im still considering a jog

after a break of laziness for the past 6 months () today i swung back into action, i walked the two mile walk via thebig track round the park to the local gym to book an induction for tomorrow, not a very nice gym but it'll doodle ding dang do me for now. Then, schlock and horror i RAN (puffed) the 2 miles back up the road again, my legs have no idea what is going on and i feel fab! sweaty but fab!

ipod def helps, what about the boardies/runners compiling a list of the best songs to run to! Anything by Muse is fine by me, love them!:D

Well done PSM, the hardest part is taking the first step, after that it's easier to build on & i bet you feel way better for it.

Muse is defo on my exercise playlist, Knights of Cydonia & Map of the Problematique are woppers. Also on my playlist & which i would recommend is one called "Jerk It" by Thunderheist. It's good for running to.

    Other favs are as follows:

    Almost Easy - Avenged Sevenfold
    Duality - Slipknot
Anything at all by System of a Down
    Operation Blade - Public Domain
No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age
    Master of Puppets - Metallica
    Born Slippy - Underworld

& of course, you couldn't have a workout playlist without Eye of the Tiger!
The workout song of all workout songs, also anything from Rocky IV soundtrack, sound cheesy but it relly gets you goin.

Anybody else??? What you listenin to?

I personally find hip-hop the best thing to listen to while running. The steady beat helps me find a good cadence to my stride which helps me forget I'm actually running. If running to a steady beat is good enough for the army, it's good enough for me! Check out Little Gun by Lupe Fiasco for a good example of this. For the last mile of the run when I try and push under 6 minutes I find a bit of decent drum and bass to be useful. I do love my dance music, but don't find it works too well for me with cardio exercise.

hahahaha i laughed really loud there maybe cause i know its true!!!

good choice on metallica. i can think of a good few of their tracks to keep you going. especially from the first album. metal head gone to trance like haha its bad.

mummy smyff hates dance music, but she doesnt mind it thumping on the bass all day or in my car. when she does her yoga or tiebo classes they play dance n trancey music n she loves it. possibly cause its uplifting and with the steady bpm its great. MGH, since your old, do you remember this one. this one is really related to fitness...
