JLS should do hit me baby one more time. There's some great opportunities for harmonies in there

Is there any way for us in Ireland to vote for Ruth next week? I'm worried she might go, she doesn't have a home town or city to vote for her, like the others, I think if she's in the bottom two Simon might apply the same logic hed did last night i.e. you've been here twice before vs say Diana therefore your gone.
ive been trying to find a way to vote but i dont think you can. also i dont think there is a bottom 2 next week, everything will be decided by public voting not by the judges.

Aye, hope she gets the votes, she's amazin!

I was actually thinkin about that too :P

My only idea is to get a UK sim off eBay and try use it from here with Roaming

Is anyone else officially sick of Diana's pathetic stray dog whining every week? What was original and endearing at the start has really become very dull and actually irritating. Never thought I'd be saying this but Simon Cowell seems to be the only person with a brain in his head when it comes to the judges comments. Louis is painfully childish and Cheryl seems to have forgotten her roots and outgrown her boots. They all need to lighten up and remember that it's supposed to be an entertainment show instead of a self-obsessed money-making scam.

Rachel sang the Take That song very badly - it was so out of tune in several places. But in my opinion it just didn't suit her voice. Then she was absolutely awesome with whatever that number was in the sing-off. Shame. It was a soul number and suited her voice infinitely more. I'm sorry she's gone.

I really think there's something fishy going on with Diana. Even Simon said he "adores" her - wtf?! Normally he has no time for fake, gimmicky crap, as well as the fact that her voice, painful accent and yelping aside, isn't even that strong. And it was a guy who won last year, as well as the other finalist being a guy, so I wonder are they really keen to have a female winner this year. And then Alexandra and Ruth are too similar in style to Leona, as well as having dark features.

Maybe a fair-haired, fair-skinned, "bohemian" chick is exactly what they're looking for?

That's it in a nutshell I think, I think Cowell can see an opening in the market for an act such as Diana. She may not be the most vocally talented (behind Ruth and Alexandra) but begrudgingly I have to concede that she probably has the best all round package in regards to being a success in the industry.

And it's understandable. What's the point in another soul diva? It's just such a shame Diana's voice is so painful...

yeah and that damn left hand of hers is starting to annoy me its up all the time, I can't understand why the judges like her so much, lets hope the public vote her out next week.
Watching Rhydien last night, I think if he'd have been in it this year he would have won no problem great performance by him last night.

Diana getting a lot of stick here. I only watch x factor sparingly but from what i remember she was very good. And she's a filthy ride*

*I don't care how underage she may or may not be.

Ruth is clearly the best singer on the show. The two kids have the weakest voices but obviously they'll still get the votes for other reasons.

Thats probably why they have Miley "suck my cock" Cyrus on next week

"Diana, you can be like herrrrrrrrrrrrr"

    Ruth is nothin like Leona
She's like a rock version of Shakira, who can actually sing live  :P

Ruth and Alexandra are the best singers
and I love the tone of Ruth's voice on a long note

And Im officially gone off Diana

I loved her first 4 weeks, but Yellow and Patience were crap

YouTube her... and then ponder the terrifying future ahead of us if she wins... :(

Does Diana ever stop whinging and crying in her VTs?

I think those who think it's a conspiracy for Diana to win are right. Pains me to say I see where they are coming from but she has no likeability factor and aims to protray herself as non-shoe wearing hippy.
Her accent is so very annoying and coupled with her blubbing makes me want to break the TV. Then she produces *the hand* and throws in a few warbles and screechy kate bush/dolores o'riordan imitations. No one, not even louis criticises her obvious failings. Fair enough she is different but I guarantee she is forgettable.

Alex has the entire package and it's just a pity she has similar style to leona. Think Alexandra is more confident and fiery than leona though which could be great combination. Eoghan isn't good enough to win, but the recent HSM fixation will prob see him through the final.

    I'd love a Ruth/JLS/Alex final.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

I suppose though, Leona is more of a ballad/sugary uptempo songs purveyor, whereas Alexandra seems more sassy soul/funk diva - so maybe they're not that similar. Still though, Diana is completely different. Yeah there's no way the judges could like her, maybe apart from Cheryl. After her last performance Dannii didn't even say anything about her singing, she literally just told her she looked good.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Ha ha! I just realised that little Miley Cyrus will be giving her "expertise" to the likes of Ruth and Alexandra!:D Fair enough if Britney is giving advice but Cyrus?

Oh and just a question. Rhydian was excellent on Saturday Night but what do you guys think his target audience is? I don't the young demograph would be to into his style (and I'd say that's why Leon embarrassingly beat him last year).

Latest claim of what the winners song is. I would say it's favouritism but I actually think all of the girls could do a great job with it. But the boys would be fcuked.:P

    Oh and there is something slimy attached to Dannii's face;

+1. We need more rock voices me thinks

Alexandra and Ruth were the best on Saturday night but then again they always are - i really hope they are in the final

Diana butchered Patience and she looks terrible - whoever is her stylist should be sacked and i think she needs to clue her got damn hand to her side - i really hope she goes next

JLS were also terrible at the TT song but were good at their own song. BTW why was there a mix up with Louis about the song?

    I'm glad Rachel went

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,062 ✭✭✭✭Basq

JLS's "FaceOff" song was so fecking safe though.. I mean 'Stand By Me / Beautiful Girl' - they were always sailing through (no matter how good Rachel was).

That Holly Willoughby is an utter moron though.. every time she's on screen, I cringe!

When she said to the judges "I loved JLS little spin on the song!" - it wasn't a spin ya daft feck. It's not like they took Ben E King's classic 'Stand by Me' and then penned the 'Beautiful Girls' part during the week.. it was performed verbatim to the original by Sean Kingston, which was a very popular successful pop song.

Ruth has, by far, the best voice in the competition. Her performance on saturday was brilliant. I actually think she showed up Alexandra for being quite standard and unoriginal. There must be millions of people that can sing like Alexandra, but very few with the power and range that Ruth has.

I still like Diana, though her whinging is getting a bit tedious. In fairness though, the editors of the programme put together whatever they want for those VTs.

Eoghan needs to go, as do JLS, I think they are both fairly weak.

A final with Ruth, Diana and Alexandra would be great, with Ruth winning!

I like Diana, and thought she looked lovely last week, but why oh why don't the judges tell her when she's out of tune?? She def was last week (I know simon acknowledged her shaky moments) but there was a few clear out of tune moments...yet they clamber on with the whole "what I love about you Diana, is that youre different from the rest of of the acts"

    http://file038b.bebo.com/9/large/2007/11/13/14/4436235150a6100325751l.jpg

    No indie/quirky/skins-alike chick there.

I know Simon is thinking cash symbols when he looks at her, she may fit the niche market, altho, you know the D4 heads with uggs and messyhair but I think it's all gone too conspiracy like..

I'm actually starting to like Eoghan..talk about being mislead!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,712 ✭✭✭Hrududu

I thought Rachel blew JLS away in the singoff but her Take That song was quite weak.

I can see both Eoghan and Diana getting through to the final even though they are vocally the weakest. I do think however Diana has the best chance at a career. Alex provides nothing new, JLS are nothing special, Eoghan is too weak even though he might work in the HSM market and Ruth seems too 80's. Don't get me wrong I love Ruth but I can't see where she would fit in as a recording artist. Wheras I can easily see Diana and the type of stuff she could bring out.

Ya,I was also surprised that JLS sang 'suicidal' instead of 'in denial'.
Can't wait for this week's one!

The X Factor finalists have reportedly been left fuming, after discovering that the winner's first single will be a song sang by Diana Vicker's during the audition process.

Each of the finalists will record Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, a song that Diana sang during boot camp. Although other contestants also sang the track, it was 17-year-old Vickers who was praised for '(making) it totally her own' by Louis Walsh.

The choice of song has now reportedly led to accusations of favouritism,
The Mirror reports, as the remaining contestants viewed the choice as hand-picked for Vickers.

A source told the paper, 'Tempers are running high. They feel it is just the latest in a series of stunts that have left them wondering if the competition has already been won.

'First there was Diana getting let through one heat because she was ill – although Alexandra was told to keep her exact same illness quiet and perform. Then Simon came out at a charity dinner saying his choice to win was Diana. And now they feel the winner’s song has been chosen because it suits her vocals.'

The snitch added, 'Many suspect producers are paving the way for Diana to win and there is nothing they can do. They feel even if the public put her in the bottom two, the judges will always save her.'

The rumours come as tension on the show stepped up a gear this weekend, with
Dannii Minogue breaking down during an argument with Louis Walsh.

The Aussie singer looked on the verge of tears from the start of the show, as Walsh accused her of stealing his act's song for her contestant Rachel Hylton.

love the song but i dont like Diana performance it

Why is Miley Cyrus on it? I didnt realise she was that well known in the UK.......And what theme is it next week?

Theres a huge heap of people here going on about how Diana is more marketable than the rest. While I agree that theres certainly a gap in the market for quirky/indie type girls, I dont see why that means she should win. Quirky/Indie doesnt have to translate into vocal screeches and distracting hand waves. I find her unlistenable and she murdered "Patience" at the weekend.

Even if there are tons of others like them out there, I'd much rather see Ruth or Alex win. At least I could stand to hear their voices on the radio.......

What the hell advice could Britney Spears give them?

"I think you're singing too much, Don't you know they have machines that can do that for y'all???".

    Pathetic.

It's a shame Rachel's gone, Britney could teach her how to handle the media and tabloids NOT In fact they'd probably find they had a LOT in common...

And I guess she might be able to be on a level with Eoghan too because he's in his parents' care too!

It'll be interesting to see how much support Diana actually has now so. Although if it's just up to the voting and no interference from the judges to decide who stays and who goes I reckon Ruth's a gonner this week.
