Yeah i agree. I think Leona's done amazingly, even if she doesn't appeal to everyone you have to applaud her, she's gone from being a receptionist to topping the U.S charts ! I adore her cover of Run by Snow Patrol, i mean noone can compare it to their version, both are good for their own reasons but i do think it suits her voice really well.

She is terrible most weeks but the judges sing her praises - it is like the show is being built around Diana winning which is a shame :( she also has an annoying hand

I disagree: I enjoyed her earlier performances (including "Call Me") but I thought she should have gone after the unprovoked butchery that was "Yellow". This week was a bit better, but not a lot.

What some people call "yelps", I call hiccups. I think if she won, there's no way I could ever see myself sitting down to listen to an album of hiccups. It'll take more than a good scare to get rid of them....

Has it been 100% confirmed that the winner will sing "Hallelujah"? I'm still hoping, for the love of God, Allah, Thor and other assorted deities, that it isn't true.

Yes, it is a great song. Which is why I shudder to think of an X-Factor winner releasing it. Let's say, hypothetically, Ruth or Alex win. They are both great singers, but how much input would they actually have? It's all down to Cowell and his evil team of fatcat producers. They'll completely shape the song into what they think will sell to the stereotypical tweens and housewives. It would completely ruin the song.

And now, imagine JLS winning. Can you even begin how wrong it would be, them singing something written by Leonard Cohen??
"I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
and love is not a victory march
    It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah"

A dark, haunting song, being massacred by a bland cheesy boy band with the collective personality and emotional range of a spatula.
It'd be like Jade Goody reading "The Collected Works of Sylvia Plath". It's just wrong.

Pretty much yeah because i've read many blogs saying it's chosen because Diana is tipped to win and as we all know she's sang it and they loved it then they know she'll pull it off and have a better chance of scooping Simon xmas no 1.

Imagine the horror of an up-tempo version by JLS.:(

I don't see Rhydian attracting beyond the classical audience.
The classical audience would laugh at the likes of Rhydian. Sure didn't the fat Dictator that won the other "talent show" get absolutely slated by the classical fraternity. He still sold bucketloads of CDs though.
It's people that listen to pop music, watch X-Factor and buy CDs in supermarkets that buy albums by the likes of Rhydian.

Damn right. NO ONE can hold a candle to Jeff Buckley full stop. Such an underrated guy - anyway, guess I've digressing a tad :p

It would be a travesty for the song to get a "pop makeover". I really hope they leave that one be. No one can do what Leonard & Jeff did

I don't know, they seem to have a short attention span. Look at Leon, the X Factor audience didn't seem to feel a need to buy his album and keep it out of the £5.99 bargain bin.:pac:

Or if Louis Walsh sticks his oar in, it'll be another bloody medley! With "Bop Bop Baby" or something thrown in at the end.:(

The Star had it yesterday and said, as usual, Dannii would be the one he'd replace. If only he'd drop Louis, but then Simon wouldn't want to lose a judge who regularly embarrasses himself and someone who he can humiliate so easily.

I think Gary Barlow would be a better choice.I thought he was really helpful to the contestants last week!

Yeah, Barlow was great. But Williams, at least in Simon's eyes, would be a more explosive character on the judging panel. I can see it now; Simon and Robbie continually taking the piss out of Louis. Although I don't want too see Dannii go, I would love to see that!:D

Wouldn't be betting on that -Robbie Williams is too much of a loose canon. What would they do if he decided to load up on alcohol and drugs again, and had to be carted off to Rehab?

Ideally Louis would get the boot - Danni and Cheryl are both pretty good judges. And Cheryl seems to be a really good mentor aswell.

Exactly.:D I'd say Simon would be willing to take a punt on him staying clean and at the same time produce a few whacked out moments on the judging panel!

If Williams comes on board there should be a clause involved preventing anybody from performing 'Angels'.

I'd imagine it'd be Dannii who'd go but I think having three male judges and one female might be too unbalanced...? So I don't know. Can't really see Louis going though.

Don't want to see Louis going, better off getting rid of Danni, she's a waste of space as a mentor and seems disinterested at times, lets get Sharon back ;)

    DIANA SUCKS!!!!!

Alex is devoid of personality & completely deperate

Eoghan is an annoying little velvet voiced badly groomed piece of cheese

    Ruth is endearing & sexy

JLS, very bad singers apart from that I have nothing against them,

NONE OF THE ABOVE HAVE THE X FACTOR though

If Diana Wins I will throw myself into the LIFFEY

And WHAT is with Cheryl's hair & Make up.. She's such a stunner, she doesn't need to be 'sprayed'...some weeks she looks like she fell asleep at a make up counter & a load of kids painted her

PLEASE don't let DIANA win... She is SOOOOOOOO Annoying...

Her hand will need it's own separate management

I am still adamant that she is using it as some sort of hypnotic tool.
Remember a couple of weeks ago when she killed Yellow?
The wierd twisty background right behind her ,and then all tha hand action?

Whatever you do...don't look directly in her eyes!!!

Jack L does a pretty damn good version though. If the winner's song is really Hallelujah, then it seems like they picked it specifically for Diana to strangle. None of them would be able to do that song justice.

I like JLS, they seem like a nice bunch of guys, but it's really Aston and his (sometimes hard to hear) backing singers. They're not Boyz II Men (I really wanted them to be that good) They'll never win.

Ruth can belt out a song, she struggles on the softer side. That style would get boring pretty quickly.

Gizmo - Sorry, Eoghan sounds like she should be in a dodgy Grease production in a town hall. He looks like a Home and Away reject.

Diana - she looks like she stumbled out of an asylum somewhere:eek:. She should have the full Hannibal Lecter getup when on stage. Straight-jacket (for the uncontrollable spasms in her hand) mask (to stop the yelps and cover that bloody awful lipstick) and the trolley. Just wheel her out, let her murder a song or two and wheel her straight back to her cell.

Alexandra has the potential for a somewhat limited career. She's no Leona, but the best of a bad bunch.

totally agree they won't win and don't deserve to win,it's always the same one that sings lead and he is not even that good.I don't know why the judges keep going on about how there the best group that has ever been on the x factor, how bad were other groups.

    Eoghan or Alex to win!!

Werent Alexandra or Ruth sick/sore throat one week and they had to sing, they why did Diana get a pass

From whats left i hope Ruth or Alexandra wins

Most of the groups are hideously bad - McDonald Brothers and Same Difference anyone?

Hope, the girl band that were on last year, were actually fairly good. Problem was that they weren't very likeable - they all seemed a bit skanger-ish (and they had a crap name).
JLS, while terrible, do come across as fairly nice people - dull, but nice.

My god, they were rubbish, absolute cack like.

They were on Today FM a few weeks ago and sang "Back To Black" and it was utterly atrocious. If they do make a splash it will be nothing more than an indication that people who like pop music are merely pawns of marketing - they like it because its what they are told to like.

I heard Hope (not saw, I was busy stuffing my face waiting for the proper band to perform) perform during the Summer and they were awful.

The bands do not do at all well on X Factor

G4 had some success in UK and Ireland but they now have spilt

So far the best performance of the competition has been Ruth with Purple Rain
