Didn't even think of Diesel and the tyre, thanks :) Haven't checked my tax disc, does it usually mention the weight?

Remove all those non-working bulbs too. Every little bit helps.:D:D

Tax disc should have a weight class number near the "cc" box. Mine is down as 1,400 goods class. Ford have it as 1,398. Wonder are you a victim of these numbers always being rounded up to the nearest weight class.

Went and looked on carzone and most 350 LWB high roof vans(with regs visible) come in at €3.80 on eflows site.

I could object i suppose, but meh, lifes too short.

    U really should!

This is what the problem is we should not be making things easy for them, they are screwing us its a fact!

today with the bad weather and bad visibility why dont you all take out your tags from your cars & dont clean your reg plates, I am sure they would have alot of trouble trying to do a reg check!

We should be doing everything possible to fk up there system.

By the way, some of you are saying they can do a tail end reg check is this a fact? as I have seen no rearward facing cameras?

About the gantry, can anybody confirm if the black boxes are for the tag & the cameras higher up are for reg plate check?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 331 ✭✭Mr CJ

Are the cameras used to ID your reg plate anti glare?

What would happen if someones high intensity lights happen to come on passing the gantry & where aligned directly towards the cameras accidently of course

Or if it works on infrared I am sure its possible to cause some interference there which would be better again as it would be invisible to the eye!

Any technical people out there want to come forward with ideas? or even anyone?

Got the weight sorted anyway so now I have to go to the tax office on Monday. Looks like I'll be getting a non payment penalty so :pac:

A friend of mine just told me that hes been through the M50 toll bridge every day last week. He has an easypass tag in his car. It turns out that the battery has gone in it and he didnt know until he got a bill for the first day and third day and so on. Hes waiting on more, especially the one from the second day which seems to be lost in the post at this stage. But like my own post, he has noticed that post is going missing more and more often lately.

Now what happens , since that bill is long overdue, or if someone went through once with their easypass when the battery was dead and never expected a bill so didnt notice that it was lost in the post. Will they be fleeced after not having paid the bill for a period?

I'm registered for the number plate option & yesterday I went through up the rear of a truck & it's showing up on my account. It's possible though that I wasnt that close before the booth. This was totally accidental btw, the truck slowed a bit unexpectedly.
I've got nothing showing up in my account for a trip through on the 1st of August.

Sorry if this has been asked or covered before but with the Pay-as-you-go Tolltag how can you know how much credit is left if you are an infrequent user?
Is there any means of checking your balance ? Their website does not seem to mention this.

Their parking system allows you to check by phone or by using the online system. I would take it that the tolling system works the same, but it may not.

I seem to remember a statement being quoted here about them 'knowing' what cars had tags issued to them and billing them to their tag account via video registration - has he made sure Eazypass has his current reg plate?

I know for a fact I went through without the tag blipping once (of the, um, about 6 times I've used the M50 since) last weekend and got nothing about it. If a notice comes they'll be told to take it up with my tag issuer...

Good stuff :) if anyones tags is not working just ignore it & when they come down on you tell them where to go, its there problem let them deal with it, but just dont lift a finger for them, there getting paid enough to sort out there own crap

Its gone to tender, but the gas works (which have started) need to be finished first - these appear to be using much of the land thats going to be used for the new alignments.

I recall the upgrade to the new lands cross junction being either an underpass or overpass for the N7 lanes. So I assume this has been decided then?

Is there anywhere to check how many trips are owed, if any, on an unregistered car? i.e. without a tag or video registration.

My girlfriends Mam thinks she went through it last Thursaday but isn't sure. She isn't from Dublin and would very rarely be on the M50.

    Cheers.

    Simple question... simple answer required...

Can you buy passes in a shop with "cash"? and where are these?

Ring eflow and ask if the car is showing up as owing money.

Logon to your account on their www site ? Should show it there. At least it does for me - I'm on Pay as you toll + option.

Clearly it has. They appear to have decided not to tell anyone though!

Did a google today and couldn't find out which it went for, I'd prefer the underpass for aesthetic reasons plus I suspect it'd disrupt traffic less while being built (look at N4/Newcastle for that) but it'd be more expensive as well as take longer to build...

According to the NRA site its out to tender (http://www.nra.ie/RoadSchemeActivity/KildareCountyCouncil/N7NewlandsCrossJunctionImprovementScheme/SchemeName,15412,en.html)
According to SDCC, its awaiting a decision from An Bord Pleanala.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,010 ✭✭✭✭L1011

ABP ruled for in June, kbannon.

Any idea why KILDARE County Council was applying? Are Kildare RDO managing it?

Cheers - I took a quick look at the ABP site and didn't find it. Still, nobody seems to have told SDCC!

Thanks for the links, but I couldn't determine from the linked in document which it will be an over or under pass?

The underpass also makes it easier to build the Metro AFAIK.

Had look round & couldn't find out either - on SDCC's website it says that the underpass option could take up to 3 years, thats seems very generous given the progress thats being made at the n4/newcastle job.

Construction has started on this from what i can see - they're constructing a carriageway behind the hoarding on the cemetry/belgard side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,010 ✭✭✭✭L1011

The construction on site at the moment is for a gas pipeline I believe.

Looks like you can unsticky this thead and let it die. M50 barrier free is now a non-issue.

good point but I'm sure there will be a few more - I might leave it for a few more days

This might be slightly off topic but I drove the M50 for the first time on Friday, since the barriers were lifted. Funnily enough I pretty much had to come to a complete stop just before the toll booths as before. Apparently the Blanch junction is now messing everything up, but I'm not really sure why as both M50 lanes are still open. Any ideas?
