I'm not lucky enough to own a classic (just a boring old W210). :(

(PS - I don't live in the area but I work nearby).

I've spotted you a few times MercMad in Donabate when I 'm on the way into the train station. Always catches my eye! I'm usually in my 'daily' but I now have another Dolomite so keep an eye out. I think there's two other Dollies in the area too (white and yellow).

Saw that in UL earlier this year too. It looks like a T214 3/4 ton ex-military truck - see this for comparison:

No pics but I saw a Mk. I Ford Consul with wedding attire being towed down the N18 to Limerick earlier today (original Irish plates too).

And on the weekend I saw a rusty 2 door Mk. III Cortina and a yellow "Trotters Independent Traders" Reliant Robin van (yes, an R-reg Robin - too new to be the Regal Supervan III it should be!) on the back of a truck - both on UK plates.

You might have been mistaken about the reg on the Cortina. It was an original Dublin reg and belongs to a friend of mine, sending it to Cork for a restoration

yes your right ,the conversion was done in Dublin, a place that i worked in over beside the airport did the job,the roof was cut off hinged and put on hydrolic rams the rest was kitted out as a mobile disco.

I'll have to work on the hand signals...:D

My Dolomite is Russet (turd) brown. It resides in Santry while I live in Lusk so I only get out in it every other weekend. Still wearing English plates but the new Irish ones are in the post.

I had a feeling the same guy owned the 2 Dollys. I passed him once in my old 1500 on the Skerries Road. He looked as surprised as me to see another Dolomite on the road. :)

    Ha,he was escaping tralee!!!:D

heading for the electric picnic id say. it decided to park up outside our tent 2 years ago and started banging out tunes at 4.30am. serves me right for being old i spose :o

spotted this in a garden in arklow on sunday, not vintage by any means, but thought it was worth a post.

Is that ParFit ? Used to build ambulances on Merc G-Wagens for an Arab army ? The owner drove a Renault Alpine GTA, and latterly a Merc E55.

Some Arab prince had a giant Powerwagen built, I think it was 3 times or more the size of the regular model - featured on Jeremy Clarksons 'Car World '(?)

That Mustang is a makey-upy GT350 AFAIK, I stand to be corrected but I think 67 was the first year of GT350's. I used to own a 70 Shelby Mustang convertable 686 CIK, bought it off a 'John Gilligan' type character over in St.Margarets, great craic Q'ing up for petrol during the fuel strikes.:p

I'd post photos of it, but I'm better under the bonnet than on the keyboard

The long argument runs. Ok its not 30 year old so the state doesn't recognise it as vintage but in 1987 that was an very rich mans car and has to be a classic.
