I was in Tralee saturday last but did not see it. Where abouts is it parked?
Is there a dent in the roof or is it just the shadow?

She's parked around the back of CH Chemists. Looks to be in use, but the bodywork is fairly tired. Not sure if it's still there, but the Town and Country Morris Minor van used to be parked near it, quietly rusting away

Apologies to renotec, i missed your post somehow:confused::o. bitten and hisses has it right, its always parked there, dont think its a dent in the roof, though the car has a lot of small dents on it. I think the guy that owns it had a mk1 mazda 323 before it, it was woefully rotten. As for the morris minor van, havent seen that in ages too, i dont know what became of it.

    No problem.
I'll be back in Tralee in a few weeks and I'll have an eyeball at it.

There is an '87 Austin Metro Crayford convertible sitting in a driveway of a house in Rathfarnham. It's been sitting there for years, and it's in fairly shabby condition. As rare as Metro's are, there must be only a handful of the convertible models left in the world. I'll get a picture hopefully within the next couple of days.

Saw a yellow Renault 4 today on original Irish plates ('YZS' I think they were). Looked to be in everyday use. It was carrying pipes on roof-rack! Then about 5 minutes later, I saw that silver Renault 18 (the 'HZU' one). I had no camera with me as I was cycling.

Coming home then I saw two different VW Beetles and a MGB, all with orisginal Irish plates.

Just one of those days I guess.

There's a Toyota garage being refurb'ed in Mullingar. I stopped last week to ask for directions. In the back there are three old cars under cover - a merc, a BMW and one I didn't ID. Anyone know it?

    Was it 'racing' green?

If so, it was my mate heading to/from a funeral we were at. :pac:

Well, it's parked in the street next to mine. I didn't have a closer look but from what you've seen at a first glance...

Sills: gone ( really big holes all over it)
    Doors: gone (rusted)
Wings: gone (more fiber than metal)
The boot probably hits the road when you accelerate
    etc. etc.

Had a good look today, does not seem as bad as Andreas was making out, though couldnt look under but appears solid enough. Looks like a regular runner too.

Much depends on the definition of 'restore'. For some a pop riveter, biccie tin and a tub of fillers will do the job. Other people will buy the replacement panels, correct seals, new nuts and bolts, etc, etc...
