Saw this '85 VW Passat (on original 'SI' Dublin plates) today in Terenure. It has been sitting in that driveway for years now.

Might that be a VW Santana rather than a Passat? It looks a bit broad across the boot for a Passat

@ Junkyard - great pics from Paris! Are the last set from a permanent museum, or a temporary exhibition?

Scratch that, just saw your post re Dinky's at the Retromobile show. Is that an annual event?

A few spots from the last few days around north county Dublin - apologies for poor picture quality.

Co Monaghan registered Defender spotted northbound on the M1. (Why the two plates - asthetic balance?)

    LandRoverDefenderPBI331-1.jpg

Co Meath registered Morris (1300?) spotted southbound on the R132 at Staffordstown.

    MorrisPAI930.jpg

And a PSV Roller spotted in Donabate.

nice car, but the number plate doesnt suit. Black and silver plates would be
    more period and appropriate

............I spotted all of those cars last Saturday too ! We must have travelled the same road at roughly the same time. I saw the Morris as I was leaving Swords and the Roller as I left Donabate earlier. Cant remember where I saw the Landy !

    From the DVLA Online:

    Date of Liability 25 09 2006
    Date of First Registration 01 05 1996
    Year of Manufacture 1955
    Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1911CC
    CO2 Emissions Not Available
    Fuel Type Petrol
    Export Marker Export
    Vehicle Status Unlicensed
    Vehicle Colour BLACK
    Vehicle Type Approval null

Looks like it was probably was imported to the UK from France in 1996, then exported from the UK in 2006 - probably into Ireland.

But it's still wearing its old plates in that photo...

There is a chap in Listowel who lives at the start of the N69 who has owned a few down the years. I think there is a model on carzone right now.
