hey lads bit of a stupid question but here goes. I have a Garmin 255 and I’m wondering if I have a workout loaded to the watch with let’s say 5k warm up before 5x1k repeats but my warm up to meet my running buddy ends up being 10k is there any way to record the miles?? At the moment the only thing I can do is pause the watch before the first rep starts but by doing that I won’t record the section of the run that the watch is paused for. Thanks in advance 👍

You need to change your workout, so that the warmup doesn't have a total distance or time, rather you end it, by pressing the lap button.

That will go straight into the 5 * 1km repeats then

Just a "Warm Up" as step type and then duration lap button press and then your work out followed by a Cool Down lap button press.

I currently use a FR945, no issues and love it but need to replace it as it is damaged.

I am looking at the FR965, 570 or 970. I dont use maps. I am wondering is the 970 worth the money or am I missing out on many features by coming down to the 965 or 570?

If any one has any opinion/experiences or comparisions of the watches that would be great!

I was in the same situation as you - if you don’t use maps, the 265 is the way to go.

Same hardware and features, with no maps and a tiny diff in battery. For context I run 6-7hrs per week on best-accuracy gps and get about 8 days comfortably.

If you want a slightly higher resolution on the screen, the 570 is the way to go, but at a big cost. The 265 is usually on sale somewhere.

I got a 965 mainly for the maps which are great for hiking. Something to be aware of, a friend of mine got a refurbed 955 from Garmin for €160 when he contacted their support line with a damaged 945 which was outside of warranty.

I’ve found Garmin support to generally be excellent. I’ve had one watch fully replaced after a quick chat convo online, and offered a good price on a like-for-like replacement of a watch out of warranty that had blocked altimeter sensors

Yes I was offered a recertified 955 for 180 euro but am unsure whether to go for as I don't know what the initial problem may have been with it and if it would reoccur. There is also the issue that they wont send the recertified watch until they receive mine so could be without a watch for 2 weeks

with my return, they accepted a receipt that I’d dropped it to the drop-off point, after I asked them, as I’d be without a watch. They know how anal we are that every run should be recorded 😀

They can see the history of Garmin purchases on the Garmin a/c they use for returns too - which may or may not help. I’m on my 6th garmin, a few HRM’s, and a pod.
