The Hyde is an ideal - Donegal crowd in the N61, Mayo crowd in the N60 and I will sneak in the N63 relatively painlessly from my exile in Galway

    Good venue for us.

A lot depends on which Mayo shows up the next day though, can we replicate the energy we had the last day esp against a team who has had the same rest as us? I'm fairly doubtful about it tbh, I think Donegal will have too much for us

Tommy could/should be back on the bench for donegal game …..

Excellent, hopefully true because there's been an awful lot of mixed messages and anyone I was talking to from the Neale didn't know what the story was.

    Same

Anything I had heard up until this point was negative tbh so pinch of salt may be needed

There was a lot of drink on board 🤣

That would be huge. Target for Mayo is to be within touching distance of Donegal 15 mins to go and bringing Tommy, Davit Neary and Jordan Flynn on at that stage in that scenario gives us a great chance.

Anyone know when / if stand tickets will be released? Bringing small kids so the terrace isn't an option for them

I believe the minor quarter final v Offaly is on TG4 YouTube channel at 3pm today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,635 ✭✭✭MacDanger

Good win for the minors, were ahead for most of it. Offaly went 1 up with about 10 to go but we scored the last 4 points

I thought they really tried to play keep ball in the last few minutes of the game.

It was frustrating to watch at times, I thought they could have taken more shots rather than recycling at that stage.

They got away with it in the end but it was hard to watch.

In fairness it was exactly the right thing to do.Great smarts from such young guys.

Every time Offaly got possession they looked they would score in the 2nd half with that wind (same as Mayo in the 1st half)

Mayo had to play a possession game and try to control it.They executed this really well except for the large caveat that they let in 3 soft goals.Need to tighten up FB line a bit, have let in 8 goals in 2 games That wasn't the fault of the tactic to play possession.

Ultimately they were vindicated with their tactics.

Smart management, smart players, great to see.

I think they were right to an extent to play for possession at that stage but when doing so, you need to also look for openings which I think they failed to do and left a couple of scores behind as a result which could have put them further ahead earlier. Playing possession football for the sake of it isn't a good idea

Midfield did really well and we were all over the breaking ball for the last 20 mins.

That 2 point free from Hession was a huge kick

My only worry with when they went possession football in the 2nd half was they wouldn't create any more goal chances and two pointers were off the table with the wind

However they created a brilliantly worked goal chance which brought a top save out of Offaly keeper. They hit a two pointer and chipped away with enough singles to win the game.

All this whilst denying Offaly possession,a good plan and well executed.

Any one if there are any more Stand tickets to be released for Donegal game in Dr. Hyde Park? Hope to bring the kids but not sure terrace is an option for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 500 ✭✭✭TsuDhoNimh

Nobody will know for sure, but very likely.

Numerous stand seats will be shadow booked against season ticket holders and group stage multi-ticket purchasers for both counties. Any of those that didn't lead to a stand seat sale (which will be a fair few, given some enjoy being the opposite side in the Hyde anyway or the odd nutters who love being behind the goal) will likely come back to general release in the next 48 hours.

Wouldn't expect they'd last too long so you'd want to keep an ear to the ground on it, but I'd be surprised if they weren't available for a few hours as they initially were when tickets were first made available.

Just doubled checked there.Season tickets have to be taken up by 11am on weds. You'd imagine the rest of the stand (minus the 3 package deal people who also bought stand) will go on sale then.

I'd be refreshing around that time I think plenty will be available.

No. Have been keeping an eye on it since Wed morning and nothing. Unlikely at this stage I'd say

Might be a long shot, but I'm looking for a stand ticket if anyone has excess. I have one ticket, but looking for one for my young fellow. He is a bit small for the terrace. I don't think he would be able to see the match. If I had been in on time, I could have got one of the €5 juvenile tickets. However, at this stage, I think I'd just pay the full price to get him there.

In a similar wayI'm looking for a spare train ticket if anyone has one for sale.

The 13.33 train out of Cbar, not fussed about return time

Got some bizarre replies on here when I thought it was a bit odd that Connacht final last month didn't have extra/special trains. It was clearly an error by Irish rail and for this Sunday they do have extra/special trains for the Mayo v Donegal match as was the case for the match with Dublin last year and past Connacht finals in Salthill.
