Saturday, 7 June, 2025 __ Forecasts for Ireland

TRENDS ... It will gradually turn warmer all week, and the unsettled theme will continue to some extent although it will be more confined to the north before becoming widespread again by Friday and next weekend.

    FORECASTS

TODAY will be quite cool with northwest winds increasing later to about 40-60 km/hr. Any lingering rain this morning will become drizzly before slight clearing takes place, but then bands of showers will develop and some could be rather heavy with thunder. Highs only 13 to 16 C.

TONIGHT cloudy with a few breaks, some showers continuing but not as heavy, lows 8 to 11 C.

SUNDAY will turn rather warm and humid across the south with outbreaks of rain across central and some northern counties, highs will reach 18 or 19 C in the inland south, 16 or 17 C central, 13 to 15 C in Ulster and parts of Connacht.

MONDAY variable cloud, further outbreaks of light rain in north mostly, lows near 12 C and highs 18 to 21 C.

TUESDAY variable cloud, chance of showers, warm. Lows near 12 C and highs 19 to 22 C.

WEDNESDAY sunny intervals, isolated showers, lows near 10 C and highs 19 to 23 C.

THURSDAY variable cloud, showers and thunderstorms developing, lows near 14 C and highs near 21 C.

FRIDAY showers and thunderstorms, a few sunny breaks developing across the south, lows near 15 C and highs 20 to 22 C. The following weekend will likely continue somewhat unsettled but fairly warm still. A slightly more variable pattern is possible thereafter but earlier guidance had been showing heat developing across Ireland and Britain, and that trend could return to model runs again later today.

My local weather on Friday was partly cloudy and very warm with highs close to 30 C. It's going to be hot this weekend and into the first half of the following week in this region, with valleys well into the 30s, and low 30s at my elevation.
