Very warm in Kerry already getting over 20C and breezy. Biggest thunderstorm risk maybe a slight shift more South with S Clare, Limerick and Kerry in the main firing line.

Not all of it, we had two nice big bangs and a decent convective shower over Cobh at 4am. Rain rate of 19.6mm/hr. Didn't expect that but it was really the only storm that survived the trip over the Irish Sea.

Can see a few cumulus clouds bubbling up to the south of me in Offaly. Nothing expected here. Depends on development for storms elsewhere later. Certainly quite warm out there now. Nice.

Likewise, I'm in Portarlington and all along my southern horizon cumulus are really bubbling up. And it's easily the warmest day so far this year. Could be some decent action in Munster later

Deep rumbles from the cell to my east. East Clare

see that, a few cells appearing. Cloud much thicker now, still with sunlight getting through, convection looks much higher up towards North Kerry.

Got hail mixed in as well. Sun is reappearing now. Guess I won’t have to worry about watering anything now.

It didn’t travel across the Irish Sea, I had a look at ME’s 24 hour rainfall chart and it shows a thundery shower developed off the coast of Waterford and drifted in your direction.

I wonder will any of the showers over South Wales make it over to the SE Coast? Probably not, similar to yesterday will more than likely die out ..

I was glad I’d found shelter alright. Those hailstones wouldn’t have been fun if you got caught out in them.

    Clare (430ft asl)

Two 'Strong Slammer' cloud to ground lightning strikes near Listowel in Kerry at 3.30pm. Two separate power outages are reported in West Limerick and North Kerry. Meanwhile, power has also been lost in the Kilfenora area of the Burren in County Clare following lightning activity there.

Storm pushing off the Clare Coast, seemed to have been a lot of elevated thunder around Tralee. Still some beefy looking clouds about but they seem to be moving towards the coasts, not sure if we will get anymore sferics around here cloud structure to the East looks more benign for now, some big convection still in North Kerry. A few heavy local showers reported in Kerry .

First pic looking towards that Storm off Clare, taken from MTU Tralee, second pic mire West of me.
