Nice area of convergence along the South on Thurs where it should get into the low 20's but again weak shear and looks to be a strong cap in place, will see tomorrows charts .

Mid level convection becoming more evidence here in a longford. Temperature is 25° so warmer than expected. Could things go boom later, perhaps? Arome is indicating heavy showers in many Midland areas, especially the northern half.

A lot of cloud building now around Tralee, some convective in nature, don't know if it will spark though.

I had an geography teacher years ago told me if I saw summery thundery clouds building, they had until about 3pm to do their thing otherwise no dice. In a non frontal situation, it's usually a correct assumption and I'd be surprised if we got sparks this evening. No disappointment though, lovely day and plenty of time in the seasons to come.

Plenty of big bubbly clouds around but kind of hope they don’t pop. Such a lovely evening, don’t need a big shower unless it’s 🌩️

Very dark large cloud forming in Galway Bay has a look of thunder about it

I've over 200 pots and containers that are looking for water so I'm hoping there's a heavy shower in the coming hours as everything is currently watered via a big tank and a couple of watering cans.

Parameter's although marginal and a way less shear than would need normally could still produce thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon especially along the convergence line running along the inland south of the country. Places like the Galtees, Comeraghs, Knockmealdown, Blackstairs and Wicklow Mountain Ranges could aid lift and be an area of interest . The afternoon heat south of the Cold Front and subtle instability from converging winds and subtle movement aloft in the upper trough could give rise to some heavy convective showers and possibly thunderstorms.

It would have taken over an hour to pass. Very slow moving, very local, not much rain, but quite a lot of thunder. Even in the middle of it, one could still see the sun shining on the nearby hills.

Nice cell with good height around Bantry but the only one that formed and very little rain along the South in the end. Hard to get storms without decent shear in Ireland. Fair bit of activity over in the UK today.

Today very low chance of thunderstorms I would have thought, just not enough instability.

Monday some Welsh imports perhaps possible into the SE and E , good convergence along the Irish sea but would they make it in overland and could they power up overland from the afternoon warmth whilst migrating W? Will see.

Tues some models showing a relatively high chance of deep convection developing with a moderate to high chance of thunderstorm development mainly in Munster / West, one to keep an eye on . Nice convergence zones and good heat potential with high DP's, plenty of moisture in the atmosphere and shear giving good lift with little cap all adding to the potential.

Weds again ECM showing Munster / W having a chance of convective showers and thunderstorms with high levels of CAPE potential, will see.llll

Something happening west Co Wexford, got a slight barometric pressure headache and the dog is very nervous..

Huge energy over in Wales today, shallow area of LP and associated upper Low migrating across southern Ireland , will see if enough energy to pop off a thunderstorm although looks weak enough. Tomorrow looking like an active day.

Near Carlow this evening, skinny CAPE, short lasting heavy local showers if they do occur, slight chance of thunderstorms.

A few strong showers with thunder have made their way out into the welsh bay of biscay 😂 cardigan bay and are progressing westward

Let's see if we get any homegrown thunderstorms tomorrow, annoyingly they are very hard to forecast but we may see a yellow warning from met eirrean if confidence grows , I'd say southwest is the hot-spot tomorrow but could be anywhere south of westmeath etc
