Shared stalls at Mahon Point also. Can be frustrating but not a patch on when you arrive with the app showing free stalls and find 1 or 2 stalls blocked by non Teslas badly parked

Never heard of shared stalls on a V3 install, I don't even think V3 architecture can support it, V3 is at worse SITE sharing so if two cars are charging (maybe even three) then you should get full whack

It would be shared - as all V3 are - across the 4 stalls. The theoretical max if 4 empty M3/MY/new MX/new MS pulled in is 1000kW (4*250kW) but the actual max supplied at a v3 hub is around 660-700kW. Therefore if the above scenario happened then yes it would be shared, but only briefly, as you know Tesla doesn't maintain peak rates for very long.

Was at Mahon Pointa couple of months back. All stalls occupied and was only getting 90kw. Car beside me unplugged and I immediately shot up to 160kw+. That' why max speeds and these 20% to 80% times are to be taken with caution.

Those stats are correct and the V3/V4 SuC can support it. Not Tesla's fault there's not enough power available or cars not preheated enough

Time to replace the wipers. Decided to go old school and replace the blades themselves with refills. Plenty of tutorials on Youtube if not familiar in doing this - like this one. 10 minute job with a nice sharp box cutter blade.

Got enough for 4 wipers with this set here: link

Works out at €4.20 to replace both front wipers.

No doubt you could get much cheaper still by buying bulk on the likes on Aliexpress.

So Youtuber Chargeheads highmiler M3P with 217,000miles (approx 350,000km) is showing 77% capacity (approx 60kWh down from original 75kWh).

Interestingly nearly three quarters of the charging was using DC (fast charging).

Anyone noticing the OAA being more intrusive in recent weeks? I never noticed it before but on a few occassions over past couple of weeks I have noticed a 1 second or so hesitation/lag when trying to accelerate out of a junction before the power kicks in. A bit annoying especially if trying to pull out at a busy junction.

For the last few days, the Tesla "order now" page won't let you add a tow bar to a base RWD Model 3. Change to LR RWD (etc) then can add it no problem. Also still allowed on the RWD on the UK form so might just be a glitch here.

i was looking at a tesla for sale yesterday and the passenger window would go down using the button on the passenger side but wouldn't go up. the drivers control button, it would go up. is that a serious issue and should I avoid?

Anyone came up against the 1100eur bill for replacing rear knuckles out of warranty? Rear wheels have a bit of play according to their engineer so I guess an unavoidable cost? About 600eur parts and the rest labour as it takes several hours. (>60k km, 201 SR+). Front control arms half replaced already.

I'll try HEVRA garages as most reputable mechanics I rang will not touch Teslas.

Might be hard for them to get the parts from Tesla though. When going to the parts order page you can't actually select the rear knuckles (and associated bolts etc.) although they are listed. Might be different when you register as a business if the mechanic can be bothered doing that.

Tesla parts are generally costed fair, so savings only there with labour perhaps. 3rd party equivalents from auto-doc.ie are roughly similar price but not in stock. Perhaps an independent might save by not obliging the customer to get the whole rear assembly with it (~300 EUR each).

Is the Tesla app really bad at updating where non-tesla public chargers are located or am i doing something silly? I am currently in dublin near the redcow, When i look in either the Tesla app or from the car it only shows me 4 chargers within a 10km radius from me, some of which are only 13kw, however when i look on google maps, there are literally a hundred public chargers listed within a 10km radius from me. Its like Tesla cant see EasyGo\ ESB \ EPower charging stations. Ive no filters turned on etc.

My phone app only shows Tesla chargers well mine shows none now as I changed my car to an Acura to see would it show all chargers but it did the opposite and I can't change it back.

The car shows all chargers so try there instead of your phone.

It shows them on screen when you’re driving or searching. The app may be different.

my range is a bit less than expected, only managed 380km yesterday from full to 0.
    it’s rated at 629km, wasn’t expecting that but also wasn’t expecting 380.

It’s a 2015 awd highland with the nova alloys, bought it with 1300km on the clock a few weeks ago from Tesla and have 5000km on it now.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 42,085 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

Speeds/roads/climate etc will all play its part.
At 380km, I’d suspect its user driving style here. My old less efficient M3P and MY LY AWD would beat that range at around 100-110 kmh trips.

What was the trip efficiency figure?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,460 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

    less of the victim blaming👊

Can’t see just yesterday, all I know is it was full leaving, had to top up 20km of range to get home with 0%. Total drive was about 402km

There’s was a motorway spin from limerick city to punchestown and back and mixed driving after that. 120km set on the motor way cruise.

Average over the last 4724km is 170.6 Wh/km

I'd have thought that you're doing very well. My average over 35k Kms is 205Wh/Km on a 232 M3P with mostly motorway driving.

That’s about normal if you’ve done some motorway trips. My My is 191 wh/km long term (never reset) average. 2022 MY LR.
