Is the Tesla app really bad at updating where non-tesla public chargers are located or am i doing something silly? I am currently in dublin near the redcow, When i look in either the Tesla app or from the car it only shows me 4 chargers within a 10km radius from me, some of which are only 13kw, however when i look on google maps, there are literally a hundred public chargers listed within a 10km radius from me. Its like Tesla cant see EasyGo\ ESB \ EPower charging stations. Ive no filters turned on etc.

My Tesla shows eCars, ionity etc

Could be a setting to have?

No filters? Your screenshot shows you have 2 filters.

My phone app only shows Tesla chargers well mine shows none now as I changed my car to an Acura to see would it show all chargers but it did the opposite and I can't change it back.

The car shows all chargers so try there instead of your phone.

It shows them on screen when you’re driving or searching. The app may be different.

my range is a bit less than expected, only managed 380km yesterday from full to 0.
    it’s rated at 629km, wasn’t expecting that but also wasn’t expecting 380.

It’s a 2015 awd highland with the nova alloys, bought it with 1300km on the clock a few weeks ago from Tesla and have 5000km on it now.

Speeds/roads/climate etc will all play its part.
At 380km, I’d suspect its user driving style here. My old less efficient M3P and MY LY AWD would beat that range at around 100-110 kmh trips.

What was the trip efficiency figure?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,283 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

    less of the victim blaming👊

Can’t see just yesterday, all I know is it was full leaving, had to top up 20km of range to get home with 0%. Total drive was about 402km

There’s was a motorway spin from limerick city to punchestown and back and mixed driving after that. 120km set on the motor way cruise.

Average over the last 4724km is 170.6 Wh/km

I'd have thought that you're doing very well. My average over 35k Kms is 205Wh/Km on a 232 M3P with mostly motorway driving.

That’s about normal if you’ve done some motorway trips. My My is 191 wh/km long term (never reset) average. 2022 MY LR.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,283 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

it’s nearly always on the motorway at 120 with ac on and everything else, so about normal so, thought I got a dodgy one.

Is there anyway to get Waze on the screen, I’ve just been leaving my phone running on the charger. Tried it on the web browser through the Waze website but it doesn’t really work.

I think there are little boxes you can buy for Apple car play. I don’t use it so never looked into it properly.

I have it on the 5 series but equally, never use it personally.

Screen in car is exact same. Currently just outside naas... Only showing Tesla superchargers.. and if I leave I filter it to just slow chargers... It says the closest one is 335km away

I see the new Model 3 is back to 0.9% APR again.

    Performance AWD is 0%.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,037 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

No idea sorry. I don’t use the car much and even less so on motorways but I did do dub to Donegal and Galway recently and all the chargers where showing on the map as I was driving by them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,283 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

There was a bucket of them in baldonnel the last time I was out there, was chatting to the rep they can’t sell them due to the cap on government incentives, gap is too big between them and the rwd/awd.
I had a deposit one one then an awd popped up for 17k less, so I’ll settle for getting the acceleration boost when ever it appears and I’m waiting for someone to wrap one around a tree and I’ll buy the drivers seat out of it.

I see that. You would be sick if you had signed up at the 5.x percent it was as for 2 ish months.

That kinda messing with the rates is foolish.

Not surprising, all the brands are at it. Cupra and Skoda dropped theirs to 0% in the last month too. I wonder if it’s the finance houses that put the offer son or the brands themselves?

It actually makes a decent difference to the monthlies when you type the figures into the finance calculator.

What’s everyone thinking on whether to upgrade now or not. I’ve a 241 Long range and I’d love to change to the performance but I got burned the last time when they dropped 3k off the price and went to 0% a couple of months after I bought. I’m hoping Tesla will be under more pressure later in the year and drop the price and still keep the 0%. The free paint is stealth grey too and I’d prefer white myself so it makes sense to wait and see what happens. The itch to change is there but I need to resist.

The other concern is what I might get for my own car with all the negative Tesla stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,650 ✭✭✭Conar

I took a quick look into it.

They offered me 31k for my 232M3P with 35k Kms. I just checked in case they were increasing offers to shift new cars.

As always you'd really want to sell privately if you're upgrading your Tesla.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 41,037 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gumbo

2020 ones selling recently for 25’ish privately.
I sold my 2020 one last August for €33k.
Tesla had a 2020 one for €28k last week and it’s now sold.

There’s a few 192 ones about too which in theory should be cheaper.

Mine was near flawless in my ownership, no rattles, gaps etc despite being a Fremont car that’s gets a lot of abuse online. Main issues was that each real light was replaced in turn following condensation issues.

I have not taken much notice of “efficieny” for my new model 3. Have a decent commute. 20 percent motor and the rest poor roads. I drive with out thinking NG but not aggressive as have learned it don’t get you there any fast on these roads.

    Averaged 135 ish eh/km.

Was on a longish drive drive today to the coast. Traffic was heavy for the windy road so was limited for the most part at 70-90 kph, Impressive yield though: some to do with the temp I guess but more so to the tame speed.

But shows the advertised range is achievable.

Lads, any tips on how to go about selling a 231 M3?

    Privately.
Donedeal. It’s really the only site. Facebook marketplace can work too but it’s hit and miss in my experience on the higher end stuff.

    Hassle free trade sale.
Contact Graham in Graham Walker Cars in Harold’s Cross and Richie in Vector Motors in Clonskeagh and see who gives the best deal. They are both actively buying Tesla’s and are very fair and genuine to deal with.
