Does seem low alright. 200 seems to be the number of permanent testers that they're targeting though the numbers don't include contract testers .. but I don't know how many of the latter there are operating at the moment.

I'm of the opinion they'll employ more and more in the coming years with the population increase.

Currently on the waiting list for my A license, at least a 4 month wait for a test currently.

There are no contract testers at the moment. All of those that were on temporary contracts that made it though the recruitment process have signed their permanent contracts and are now in the permanent headquarters. (Roughly 30) The RSA are looking to bring their numbers to 200 testers as that's all they are allowed to have. That's the mandate they have been given. There will be no more contract testers . There are training course starting Monday in tallaght for 8 brand new recruits which will all be based in the Dublin region. and one in cork starting shortly. There will be more then after these are completed. There are limited number of training officers so this then delays the training as one trainer is required for every two new recruits.
