Off drugs this time around for 21 days until tonight where I had a bad slip. Sometimes I think I can do this but I can't. I'm obviously not strong enough. Been up all night. My head does be in a bad place and I know I'm destroying everything. Psychiatrist explained to me that meds won't work if I keep on using. I know this but the compulsion is very strong.

I have a counseller and recovery day programme. They are not ideal but they are some bit of support. I just need extra support. I spend my time stressing about the past and worrying about the future and not experiencing the present. I am waiting on an assessment for a treatment centre. I'm worried about that too. Lots of worries.

It's a long night and it helps to write this down. I just wish I could relax. I'm uptight all the time.

Sorry to hear you are struggling, being "present" is a big issue for me too. Always ruminating and catastropising

Feeling really anxious. Have a health check on Friday that's worrying me and that's just on top of everything else.

I'm finally getting admitted into pats hospital in Dublin after they refused me first, took alot of fighting to get it, they tried to say that hospital is for dubliners only and I think that's so wrong, I hope I get the help i need, my gp was so helpful since I was under no mental health team she said to come up to her everyday evening to link in with her , hope everyone else on this is alright

I have read it. I am desperate to try anything at this point after medication and therapy has not worked. I would be more than willing to take the risk of using ketamine.

I spoke to my doctor about it and they seemed to think it was a long shot that anyone would be recommended for ketamine treatment.

Can you ask your GP to refer you to a psychiatrist and to see if they think ketamine treatment would be appropriate? Would that be the logical next step? I contacted St Pats a month ago and got no response as per usual.

Feeling really bad. Have lots of problems, but there is one problem that is breaking my heart and making it very difficult to plan, make changes or see any kind of happy future ahead.

Feeling awful today. Burned out, exhausted and anxious. Have a cold/flu on top of that. Too much.

There's a been a few nasty bugs going around. My mom and brother started the year off with that cold, or RSV thing that was going around. It can take weeks to clear up, and it's not helped by the weather. Someone else I know was bedridden with it for weeks, only now starting to slowly get back to normal.

Just be careful of your health folks, and don't feel bad letting folks know that you don't have your regular energy because of a virus.

Out of St pats for the weekend and I don't feel right I'll have to tell them when I go back in on Monday

Sorry to hear that and yes absolutely tell them and/or go back early if that's a better option..

Lots of things trigger anxiety and then depressing thoughts ... cold, hunger, tiredness, illness, loneliness, anger, bills, ...never mind all the other more complex stuff going on.

If you don’t mind my asking what's it like in st pats. Is it in bed or up. Is medication injection or pills. Is there occupational therapy. Asking for someone.. No need to answer if you don’t want to.

    Thanks

Feeling incredibly sad and depressed. Still recovering from illness from last week and back in work this week. Just floored mentally and physically. Didn't even register with me that it was Valentine's Day.

Very very depressed and anxious. I wake up with a complete feeling of dread every morning. Have a psychologist appointment today, so can get a lot off my chest for a while. But really really struggling to engage with anything.

This time of the month is rough for me. I notice my sleep is messed up, and I find I sleep 16 or 18 hour days. It coincides with a death anniversary, so I give a warning that if I'm irritable, or irritating, it's not anyone's fault.

Just from reading the posts, it seems I'm not the only one. January kind of kicked us in the guts, and February isn't being much kinder.

yea look after yourself, anniversary time here to, its rough, my own sleep isnt actually too bad at the moment. a bipolar chap i follow on youtube calls his depressive phases, 'deep rest', so be kind to yourself, if you need it, you need it....

It's fcuking horrible, similar today. Forced myself to socialise last night. It wasn't awful but I borrowed a lot of spoons from today.

Definitely good sleep helps if you can get it. Coffee is a curse for that for me. I've been cutting it out and it makes a huge difference. Just having the odd treat and not on a work night. I am hoping I don't have to do the same with tea. That would be the final straw.

Also, god rid of a load of stuff that was just taking up mental space and giving me no joy. The relief was unreal.

Now, these don't solve my underlying issues, but just give me more energy and space.
