Just back home after getting LKA update and initial reaction is very positive. Driving on M4 and LKA is now exactly what I'd want, no reaction at all until I get right to road marking, then a beep and very slight nudge on wheel - just a sort of wake up call, not the previous throw you back from line.

Bit of experimenting on empty stretch and I could change lanes without indicating with just that minimal interaction. That was with lka on, with emergency assist too but with detection set to weak.

Biggest issue I had with car now fixed.

Edit: @GC27 didn't notice any other fixes

I think they worked out at 332 a month hire purchase over 5 years with a 12k trade in iirc

That seems a bit more reasonable. Is that the final price or do you have to add in delivery charges etc on top?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,427 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

Final price I believe. Metallic extra.

Other half would miss the spoiler, rear camera and leather trim on seats but they can be added after market.

Hi folks, anyone hear anything about delivery dates? I ordered from Drogheda in early November

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 Vladi

Ordered at the end of October, same place as you

I would guess next shipment at the end of January or mid February. If not then the one after. I' ll be calling in the garage at the end of January to ask them

Just wanted to note some issues that I currently have.

Whisting noise at rear of car over 50km/h

    Leak from rear of car

    Bulge in undertray

Does anyone have the same or different issues now that they've had the car for some time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,914 ✭✭✭Patser

Have a very slight undertray bulge, driver side only and mentioned it at pick up - they said there'll probably be a fix

If leak is oil, it's well documented on UK forums that some MG4s were overfilled with oil for transmission, and others had a weak breather valve which are being replaced. So check for more info an those forums.

Haven't heard whistling on mine - although again it's been mentioned that a whistling noise in rear is caused by slightly loose spoilers (if you have exclusive) which can be fixed by asking dealer to tighten. Could also be linked to bulge if really big

Got a call from Frank Keane today telling me my long range excite will be ready to be collected in mid February so I'd say all of the next shipment will be in around then

Really enjoying mine after 3 weeks, the turning on HVAC with the app is great for these frosty mornings, the overall drive and feel is amazing.

There are a few little niggles with the infotainment i've noticed, asking to re-pair my phone occassionally, auto-brighthness does not work, graph to show energy consumption does not work, road sign detection does not work, seems to be set to UK speeds, 50 70 etc..

Hopefully another software update on the way to fix these

I found turning auto brightness off and selecting Dark to be perfect - all black background much less blinding at night driving

Yeah i've done the same, there is another issue with Google Maps and Android Auto where it won't go into night mode sometimes, so I get blasted with light when that happens

Early September so looks like they just wanted to flood the country with short ranges and the exclusive models and anyone else has just had to wait

Does anybody know how often MG shipments come into this country? Is it once a month? Every six weeks?

    Thanks.

MG4 comes out on top in real-world range test of 10 EV cars, best in closeness to WLTP figures, efficiency, and operating costs:

Aviva have finally added the MG4 to their car database.

Just wondering on the LKA update you received as the wife picked up an MG4 and she is going mad over the LKA, she said its absolutely vicious. I have an Ionic 5 and she says its way worse than that.

Was it a fix under the warranty ?

Also the camera is no great at picking up the speed signs, dunno if thats also an issue that needs to be sorted with update

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,914 ✭✭✭Patser

@Big Lar it was a recall, took about 45 mins in Frank Keane, looks like a software update. Tuned the LKA way down (for first few days it was vicious, can get turned off in car settings, bit has to be done every time you start up). Call your dealer and look for recall ASAP, makes a huge, huge difference.

Speed signs, we guess on here, are set up to read UK mph signs, so are confused why we're doing 120mph. No news of a recall but it's ignorable.

There is an issue with speedsign recognition at speeds over 60km/h. MG are aware of it and have said it will be fixed in future software update. I haven't gotten the LKA update yet so will let @Patser comment on that.

On another note, what kind of efficiency are people getting from the car, I have an Ionic 5 and it's getting around 20kwh/100km in this winter weather but the mg seems very heavy on juice altogether at almost 26

Are you doing lots of short journeys with preheating?
