Sat in the back as my wife drove this morning. The space in the back is incredible. Such a smooth ride too. We’re very happy with it so far. Only issue was the rear view camera mirror, which didn’t work well in darkness at all.

    Love the blue nappa

Love the colour! That the ceramic grey one?

noted with the rear view mirror and the tint it has, if a car is right behind you, can be tough to actually see it!

    loving it so far!

Eco mode only controls acceleration, it has no affect on driving steady at a constant speed. So no need to use eco at all once you're in motion.

heater set to 22.5°C, driving mode Eco and used propilot as much as possible.

Very high. Why not just 16 or 18 degrees?

The warmer your car or house is inside the more you feel the cold when you get outside.

No experience of Ariya myself but on my Ioniq - 21 to 22 degrees is where you want to be for nice comfort.

Hyundai actually recommend auto and 21 degrees for efficiency

When you say garage auto wash please tell me that you didn't bring a brand new car to a car wash with this big rollers?

Possibly just me but heat seems cooler at any given temp than my old 3008. Might be something to do with the fans on auto?

Yep ceramic grey - wasn't my first choice but really like it now. Windsor had it down on there system a having the black roof - inspected it before I payed and salesman said he hadn't noticed!

Just back from a donegal trip too, 70% use on battery. Learning experience on the public chargers, anything below the 50KW seems not to be worth while (car full of young kids!) so need to be smart with stops. As noted above, some great space when the back seats down for something I needed to move.

Anyone finding inconsistent connectivity on the wireless charger? My phones camera bit sticks out a bit and doesn't give reliable charging. Bit of a pain but will survive.

I was in my SILs brand new BMW IX3 and As noted by a previous poster, it still had the drive train going through the middle of the car. The difference in the feeling of space between it and the Ariya was night and day!

Still amazed by the acceleration of the thing!! 2 weeks later and loving it!

It's been an interesting few days.

Got a phone call from the dealer on Friday morning saying he had a cancellation and the car was sitting in the dealership. If not sold Nissan would be taking it back.

It's a 63kw Advance model, whereas I had ordered an Evole model, but this was an opportunity too good to pass on considering I still don't have a due date on my car.

So picking it up tomorrow morning, just in time for the long weekend and a road trip to Kerry and West Cork. Talk about been thrown in the deep end of EV driving!

What consumption are you all getting?

Fab JH, every journey of mine so far awesome. Have suddenly become Mr Nice about dropping and collecting people as it’s a joy to drive. I say ‘drive’ but really it isn’t, zero effort,

Good luck today ‘The Wanderer’, a baptism of fire indeed ! Cruise control and car staying in lane is awesome. If motorway, travelling at a nice 110 kph a significant difference on battery usage than the limit 120 kph…

18.47 kWH/100km in Jan. if my sums are right from the app summary below. This included a Dublin-Belfast road trip. From a trip through the Dublin Port Tunnel it definitely likes 80 kph speed, was at 13kwh/100km at a constant 80 kph. I’m on the Electric Irl Night Boost (2-4am) 0.13c rate from midnight tonight and scheduling a nightly 2 hour charge on the app, the 1351 kms driven in Jan will cost €31.

Actually I have noticed that the aircon on has an immediate and increasing effect on battery usage. Having set the personal display to show usage from each journey start. But as long as you’re not having it on for long periods (you couldn’t as it’s so effective in short bursts), in the long run usage should still be decent. Bearing in mind also external temps are still low…

So far no issues with the wireless charging, have a silicone case..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,779 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Yeah it’s just easy. There’s a few buggy bits and pieces here and there but nothing major. We’re very happy with it. My wife is off to Kilkenny tomorrow for a night so it’ll be the first proper road trip for it. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Good for you. In cruise control on the motorway the lane mgt and auto steering is pretty cool albeit slightly off putting when you’ve steered 100% of the time for 30 odd years. But it works !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,124 ✭✭✭The_Wanderer

    Thanks.

A beautiful car to drive. Pro pilot is awesome, even slows down for roundabouts which I thought was cool. Doesn't appear to do it for T junctions? Or maybe I'm not brave enough to try it just yet!

Battery usage on a trip from Nenagh to Killarney was a bit higher than I thought. 115kph on the motorway & 100 kph on the N roads. However it was wet and heater was on so I do know that effects it. It's all about relearning to drive an EV properly and get the best out of the car which will take a few days. There will be plenty of National Secondary and Regional road driving this weekend before heading back to Tipperary.

Did my first quick charge today on a 50kw charger. 43 mins it charged it from 15% to 70%. A ID3 plugged into the AC43 charger on the same machine after I had started. Does that reduce the power on the DC charger when the AC is in use? Another EV car arrived while mine was charging and the owner appeared to be very impatient at having to wait. Surely he could see on the app what time my charge started at and therefore what time I could be expected to be back to the car based on the 45 min overstay limit?

You should find the impact of the climate control reduces on a journey even if you *don't* turn it off.

You can also consider running it at a lower temperature if its too effective - by which I assume you mean too hot.

The way climate control works is that it aims to reach the temperature you set for it.

It works harder to achieve this at start of journey and as interior temperature warms up it should then use less energy as its merely maintaining a temperature.

Would recommend possibly using auto and maybe somewhere between 20 and 22 degrees to start of with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭Old diesel

That 15 to 70 percent in 43 mins on a 50 kW charger looks very good.

So the ID3 on AC didn't impact you at all I would say....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭Corporatemarky

Good for you, well versed in the car at this stage. YouTube pieces seem to indicate multiple use at a station can potentially reduced charge speed, I’ve only publicly charged twice at quiet period. The other gent waiting is unfortunate but on an m’way station stop one has to expect the 45 min plus potentially another 45 dep on when u arrive. Blame the suppliers not the drivers ! Continued happy and safe motoring back home 👍👍

I'm less than impressed with the heating. It's very difficult to get my feet and legs warm. I've tried auto/manual/turning the AC off and redirecting all the air to my feet. Heat and fan have to be turned up very high to get any kind of reasonably warm air to blow out of the foot well vents. Someone on the UK Airya forums has the same problem. I plan to contact my dealer about it but suspect it's a "feature". Never experienced anything similar before - this is my first EV.

If you think about it, it makes sense. The open plan front footwell area is very open. On a normal car with a central tunnel, each front passenger area is smaller and easier to heat.

That makes sense - at least we'll be heading into spring soon! Incidentally I was looking through the climate control section of the manual and found out how to adjust the sensitivity of the haptic buttons on the dash https://www.nissan.co.uk/owners/nissan-ownership/owners-manuals/manuals/iom/ariya/0fe0/e1/2022-present/adjusting-button-sensitivity-1.shtml

Not something I would have figured out on my own.

I noticed this issue too, not getting ANY air flow towards my feet. Did lots of testing on my trip to Donegal last week and could not get it working at all. Have booked in for the monthly checkup later this month also to get the preheat issue reviewed and auto parking brake looked at too (inconsistent auto application of it).

thanks for the sensitivity button calibration, would never of figured that!!

Well certainly thrown into the deep end of electric vehicle driving with 871km done in the Nissan Ariya since getting it Wednesday lunchtime and heading to Killarney that evening and then over to West Cork for the bank holiday weekend.

A leisurely drive back from Skibbereen to Nenagh today via Courtmacsherry (first time there and what a lovely spot) and then a stop at the M8 services at Cashel to try out the IONITY superfast (and expensive!) chargers before the last 45km spin over to Nenagh via Thurles.

Public charging is easy enough. Only now you notice how popular the chargers are and sometimes you may need to wait a while for a fast charger to become available. More chargers are certainly needed at the most popular locations.
