Good stuff. Ours is in and ready for collection too but waiting on VRT doc before we can collect. Hoping to be able to have it sorted in time for the weekend. 🤞🏻

    Lovely colour. Enjoy!

I hope some others were lucky enough to take delivery this week?

I’m sure it was mentioned here somewhere before but something I found out this week was the LEVTI, basically up to 75% reduction in using tolls around the country for EVs!

worth signing up to if you can

Picked up our Ariya 63kwh Evolve yesterday in Ceramic Grey (not our choice of colour buy heyho). Ordered it in May. Sales guy said that Advance and Evolve are worlds apart and naturally I had to agree! They were just about to close so he didn't have long to go through stuff with me. Anyway maiden voyage was a trip from Dublin to Letterkenny! Set out at 9pm on a full charge. Around 237km in total arrived with 63km range left = 19%. 4 of us in car, temp (outside 9°C and p*ssing rain) and didn't spare the heating etc. Left it in eco mode apart from quick test of 0—100 in sports. Figured out propilot on the fly and works very well - made a long journey much less tiring. It's now granny charging - just under 24hrs to full.

    Pros:

    Very spacious + quiet

    Good visibility

    HUD works well

    Headlights excellent

    Nissan connect app very comprehensive

    Propilot

Range fine for Dublin Donegal which we do on a regular basis

Cons (compares to our old Peugeot 3008)

Bose stereo very clear but a bit lacking in bass

Graphics dated and on screen buttons a bit small

Boot a bit small but compensated for somewhat by increased cabin space

Could do with more storage cubbys. Apart from wireless phone charger and cup holders no other storage in centre console which seems a waste - I'm sure the motor mechanism couldn't take up that much space.

Seat cushion a bit low in back but this is common in EVs to accommodate battery

Pity ambient lighting doesn't allow full rgb control - wouldn't have cost much more to include

I'll post some pics later. Feel free to ask me anything.

Thanks. Not sure about the traffic jam pilot - will check it out later. The disclaimer ia a pain alright - will do a bit of Googling.

Well ware, love the copper with black contrast. Had ordered an advance in this colour last june for January delivery but told in October that everything delayed ad no guarantee when it would be in. Bought ev6 instead and collected week ago. Very happy obviously but do prefer ariya from outside. Happy motoring

How’s the Ev6 going? If I couldn’t have gotten the Ariya it was on my wish list!

Congrats. Almost the exact car we should be picking up on Friday. Same deal in that we didn’t have a choice on the car really at all. It was take it as it is or leave it. Ceramic grey 63kWh Evolve with the blue nappa leather interior. There are very few bad colours in the Ariya though so it’s all good. What’s your take on the interior (and which one did you get) given the longer trip?

We’d be up to Letterkenny from Wicklow the odd time so good to hear about that trip!

Love the interior - just the standard Evolve dark upholstery with leather/alcantara. In sunlight quite a bit of reflection on the windscreen from the dash/hud - I'm sure I'll get used to it though. 57km/19% left on return journey - used eco mode all the way, it was 2-3°C. Charged mostly with granny charger over the weekend but went to the beach this morning so needed to top up from 80 to 100% at a 50kwh ESB charger. Took 44mins (45 minutes would have incurred a €8 overstay charge). If I had preheated the battery would probably have charged quicker. Very expensive at €12.80 😮

The built in satnav (from TomTom) suggested taking the Drogheda exit off the M1 which would have been a crazy route. I'll be sticking to Google maps in future - pity it can't display on the instrument cluster or HUD though.

I have it scheduled to charge off peak from our 7kwh EO charger at 0.2020/kwh (SSE Airtricity) so considerably cheaper.

It's our first EV so not used to the quietness - very easy to underestimate your speed!

How’s the drive on the Eco? Not keen on it on our 15 Leaf.

First one I've seen in the wild. It's not a small car..

Eco seemed fine - didn't notice that much difference on the Dublin Donegal route tbh.

Definitely not - appreciably bigger than our 3008. Taking a while to get used to it especially in multistory carparks. The 360 cameras help though.

@digitaldr agree re lack of another storage under central console but in the Evolve, the open/close button storage makes up for it I think, well used in ours. Getting similar battery numbers in our 63kWh.

May I ask a general q. interested in views. I’m looking at Elec/Gas suppliers. Thinking with the ability to set a charge schedule in the Ariya app, that taking a Night Boost package - Elec Irl, at 42c Day, 22c night and 12c 0200-0400 - scheduling a nightly charge (when needed) at 2am-4am, seems good ? Currently using (incl car) well above domestic standard numbers all the comparison sites use. Have a good size solar system too.

Mentally just feels right to charge the car as a nightly top up for reg miles at 12c per kWh is the right call e.g. say 4 charges per mth needed for our reg 1,200km = say 4x63 = 250 kWH and at €0.12 per kWh = €30 pm…give or take. And let the solar take up house slack.

Anyone having issues with the Nissan Connect App this afternoon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭Corporatemarky

It’s back now ! Thx…was not functioning for an hour although our broadband fine. It picked up the missing hour in the charging update, in car the data was fine, just the app not.

If it's the same app that leaf uses (i.e. https://ie.nissanconnect.eu/- based registration), expect it to have many hiccups like above. Although my feeling is that the app is getting slightly more reliable recently. The issue seems to always be with the Nissan's servers and not the car or your phone.

Good luck getting the car today!!

General FYI to the forum, I noted a preheat issue with my Advance that the alarm kept going off. seems the interior alarm is too sensitive. Seems to be an observed issue in some of the UK models too. Nissan Ireland is looking into it but the workaround is to change the interior alarm settings

We have raised the alarm activation concern with our Technical Department who in turn are liaising with the manufacturers. Once we receive a response from the manufacturers with a solution we can revert. As a temporary solution to prevent your vehicle's alarm from activating during the preheating process, I have attached instructions taken from your vehicle's owner's manual on how you can disable the interior ultrasonic sensor on your vehicle.

No issues with my pre-heat and alarm so far, at warm and v toasty. Will continue to monitor 👍

Another 230km trip from Dublin to Letterkenny. Temperature was 2-3°C, heater set to 22.5°C, driving mode Eco and used propilot as much as possible. 98% setting out and 24%/77km left at journey's end. If I'm not mistaken the Navilink function (propilot uses nav to slow down for corners) didn't kick at all. Maybe it doesn't work in Ireland?

I have the preheat alarm issue too.

Got it this evening. Will post pics tomorrow when the light is better. But we love it. Was worried about the nappa blue because some of the pics I’ve seen online make it look very bright and a bit tacky. It isn’t at all. It’s a darker almost navy colour and looks great. Will take a few days to work out all the features but looking forward to getting stuck in.

Drove from Kilkenny to Greystones in Wicklow with a stop over in Dundrum, almost all dual carriageway/motorway. Didn’t bother with Eco or ProPilot and had the heat on the whole way. Made it home with 50% of the (63kWh) battery left. Happy enough with that tbh. Pretty much bang on what we expected from it. And given how cold it was out too I don’t think there’s any cause for complaint.

    Hows yours going?

It’s great thx. Journeys quite inconsistent since Belfast trip. Very cold here for the past week, a lot of pre-heating and on full charge range setting at full in late 200s km wise. However, had to use it for fittings move during the week and seats down showed v large boot capacity. Good thing to know.

First garage auto wash yesterday, machine found it hard to clean the boot door and a couple of other crannies, a few mins to clean up and dry off completely but came up nice otherwise. Few small things to understand better (memory seat memory function, as our keys seem to be confused as to who the s driving !), but every time I’m in it it’s awesome. Finally did 1,000 km free garage check and all G. E-Pedal is strong vs non E Pedal when it floats on the road. Don’t forget drive mode is Standard until you change it. Have a great weekend in it, I look forward to every journey 👍👍
