    lol

Alright, you can spend your days arguing semantics all you like. For whatever reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭Croohur1

Of course you can, you said he made a claim, when he made a number of predictions, including a worst case one. The least likely to happen.

You think they are the same thing? I don't think I am the one arguing about semantics here. I asked for proof on something a poster said. He couldn't provide it. Again if anyone can provide me with the evidence that McConkey or Anyone in the Irish scientific community said that Covid was at least 1000x more deadly than flu I would like to see it. After that, it's all just deflection, bluster and guff. And semantics. Because it sure as hell ain't proof.

Its just more gaslighting. Obscure the past with petty semantics, then pretend that it happened differently.

Taoiseach asked a question. Taoiseach answers and gives personal opinion shocker! Why does this bother you so much?

No fúcking way will I ignore them...

I ignore the message (obviously), but this bullshít isn't over until they're gone.

Ignoring them doesn't end it, that's just shrugging your shoulders and letting the nightmare continue.

Any mention, sign or reference of covid needs to go, and don't even think of coming near me if you're wearing a mask when they're no longer legally required.

It may be your choice to wear it, but, just get over yourself.

What’ll happen if I come too close to you while wearing a mask?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 29,675 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

Poor old Pat Kenny is not happy that masks seem to be going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭DLink

I'm a personal choice person when it comes to having drugs injected into me just so I can have a normal life, but there's a whole world of difference between getting permanently drugged up and temporarily wearing a rag in your face.

I just can't be looking at people wearing masks when they don't need to.

That is one the most illogical posts I have ever seen!

    Whatever 🙄

This shít just needs to disappear, I've had enough of everything to do with this pandemic, most especially masks.

Probably best if you stay away from me if you persist in wearing a mask for no other reason than "because I want to".

you’re a tough guy. I wish I knew who you were so I could don a mask and creep up on you

Seriously though, I think mask wearing will remain commonplace for some time (personal choice, and all that), so you should watch your stress levels

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 627 ✭✭✭DLink

I'm not a tough guy, more of a tough crowd (as in hard to please).

I've had enough, and I just can't be dealing with anyone or anything that clings to any vestige of restrictions, time to leave it all behind.

    That's all I want.

Pat Kenny (and those who'll continue to shout about masks) will be like those Japanese soldiers who held out after WW2. Still fighting a war while everyone else has moved on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,668 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Not a chance. Once they are no longer legally required the majority will drop them very quickly.

Just seems too good to be true that if that article is correct and tomorrow it's confirmed then only one more week of this..

If I see people with masks on after they are no longer needed, I feel instantly sorry for them, and not in a condescending way either.. figures and possible impending DEATH has been drilled into people for almost 2 years (especially the elderly) .. that fear is so not easy to let go of. Maybe they have a dying or immunocompromised/pregnant relative at home, and are nervous.. so just let them be, its wasted energy towards them, and in all honestly its being a bit of a d*ck towards people, if you believe in personal choice.. you cant pick and chose which choices they are allowed.

As I said my office no longer requires masks, but we are being asked to be respectful of other peoples choices.. jeez.. you'd think we don't need an email to request this.. but clearly some people need to be told how to behave in a respectful manner...

Sorry, I'm a pick and choose kind of guy.... Just like life, I'm full of double standards.

    Take off the mask.

Newstalk reporting this morning that NPHET are likely to recommend the dropping of the mask mandate outside of healthcare settings tomorrow. Government will probably make it guidance on Friday I'm guessing?

There was a suggestion earlier in the week that testing will be scaled back despite numbers still running at about 6,000 a day. 10 day Isolation will probably need to go then too I'm thinking, how can you isolate without knowing you have it like?

I never wear a mask entering any setting, If challenged I simply say I am not wearing one

if they persist and ask me to wear one I say that’s ok and walk out

i am not nasty to anyone and understand people are just doing their jobs

i always inform any offices I need to visit in a professional capacity that I do not wear masks and most say fine , some say I must wear a mask and Than I simply say I will not visit then.

i am nice about it but I never will wear a mask in any setting

Unions have to keep their name in the media to justify the union dues.

Sure who the **** would be bothered going near you? Do you expect random people on this thread to chase you down the street in their masks?

Haven't worn a masks in weeks although I note compliance in North Kildare is 100% in any setting I am in which I find a but strange. No word of a lie but yesterday I saw a woman getting on the bus with a gas mask on. It was like she was going into the tranches in WW1 FFS. Really odd carry on out of some people at this point. She was wearing this. Each to their own but that's a joke.

It's always a risk, can't be taking any chances... Masks are contagious 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,157 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Genuine question as your seem pretty hystrical about masks and signs and all these triggers. If you are in a shop and someone is wearing a mask what will you do? Will you jump up, run out the door or get on with your life?

They are scandalous. There’s been absolutely no consultation with teachers whatsoever before coming to this extremist position.

I hope no union leader or teacher calling for continued masks are going socialising, eating out, drinking etc. It would be massively hypocritical.

Unions need to go back to their role of getting the most pay and best working conditions for their members. Not trying to dictate public health policy. It’s funny how it was ‘listen to nphet / government’ all along; now they might get rid of masks, it’s “no nphet / government are wrong”.

Honestly, I'll just get on with it, same as I have been doing up to now.

I'm not hysterical, I just have had a skinful of all the restrictions, I have simply had enough.

It's over, but I'm sick of people hanging on to whatever restrictions they can, and dragging me down with them.

I got tackled in the work canteen a few weeks back for not wearing my mask, and the guy who did the tackling got covid in a bar where he wasn't wearing a mask. I'm sick of the double standards and virtue signalling, especially when I'm expected to comply with those double standards.

Wear a mask all you want, but I can't help but look on with distain or roll the eyes... Not everyone is vulnerable, so rightly or wrongly, I judge until I'm told otherwise.

My one fear about masks is that they become normalised, and we get forced to wear them again. I hate them with a passion (as you can probably tell), but I personally believe they are just for show, and because of that, I just want rid, back to 2019 standards with no turning back.

I will admit I was stirring the pot a bit in some earlier posts, but in saying that, the masks trigger me in an "eye roll" kind of way, especially outdoors, do what you want, just don't be putting your fears on me.

I do however tell people that they don't need to wear the mask on my behalf, that part is true, but I leave it at that... for now.

I am sure the teachers are being fully responsible on the weekend also and not meeting people without masks or interacting with everyone

We haven’t been consulted. Union solo runs from the top brass who’ve taken the ISAG nutter approach.
