Yet another young woman attacked by a male. When will it end?

First we had Aisling Murphy murdered while running.

Then we had the "white 40s male" who attacked another girl who was out running, from the other thread.

And now we have a young woman walking home who was brutally beaten by a 13 year old male for aboslutely no reason (not that there is ever a good reason)

It is outrageous. What the hell is wrong with these guys that they do this?

The worst is, this 13 year old male will face no significant consequences whatsoever, which will only embolden him and he we be back out on the streets and will continue to be a danger to girls and women.

Seems that there is a particular weirdo, violent, and malevolent undercurrent to elements of that generation…not good to see..

Your lack of comment on the thread concerning the case of a homeless man attacked and hospitalised by a woman who then went on to kill himself is noted by the way. She received community service.

No one wants to see anyone attacked or abused but this painting of all men as being culpable for these events is sick.

Call a group of black people names and its racial abuse and this matter is to be broadcast all over the airwaves.

Im wondering if a group of red haired freckled people walked down the street in Lagos and their "scum" shouted hiya Paddy,you red haired milk bottle would that make Nigerian media headlines,would the Nigerians sit around and ttalk about how terrible it all is.

The Night Jack Woolley got attacked there was about 10 others attacked by the same group and none of them received press coverage. A person was attacked elsewhere in Dublin the same night and was seriously injured again nothing in the media. There are violent attacks on people everyday.

The problem is that the media ignores violence against males by focusing on attacks on females, but more males are being assaulted. The scumbags don't care who they attack as nothing will happen to them.

Male on male violence is more normalised as it's always been a thing - women are seen as more vulnerable in society and if they are being attacked it really makes you think something is rotten.

It will never end, violent crime has been there since the dawn of time and it will continue till the end of time. The victims are the ones who have the best shot of reducing it happening to them. Its awful sad but you cant protect everyone all of the time so the onus is with the individual alot of the time for there own safety.

It is awful about that poor man, but women attacking homeless men who then go on to commit suicide is not really a societal issue. It is a complete outlier, a very rare event unlikely to be repeated at any significant frequency.

Violence and harassment against women and girls by males is a major societal issue that is an epidemic. It is happening every day of the week.

We're also more likely to be attacked.. and strength/ability to defend yourself isn't shared equally among all men, so the risk is just as high, regardless of being physically stronger than women.

The point being that any violence in society should be remarked upon, with us seeking to minimize it from occurring. Not just when it happens to women, which is what the current media efforts seem to imply.

Still, I do agree that there's little value in pointing out the violence directed towards men, in response to threads like these. Then again, I see little value in these kind of threads either, because there is little in the way of practical suggestions for reducing violence towards women, that doesn't resort to painting all men as being responsible.

Sure, that works somewhat, but wouldn't it also make sense to have the same chat with the parents to ensure that brothers aren't raised with the same beliefs? Provide training to all parents in how to raise their children, to avoid this kind of outcome. Perhaps also take a look at their education, and what experiences they had to turn them into such ****.
