"The government is trying to control us" crowd are the same people who don't vote because they see no point in it because "they're all the same and only in it for themselves". They fail to see the irony of their stance which is a good indication of how stupid they really are.

The same people never have anything good to say about or have any respect for the people who actually run the country and are the first to cry wolf about any change that is proposed, their pathetic efforts to try and promote a state of siege mentality are funny yet sad at the same time.

How anyone that can tie their own shoelaces could seriously believe that Covid 19 is a "scamdemic" is very worrying.

I've asked a few of the conspiracy nuts where they think the idea for the scam started, why it was started and how many people are in on it? They have various ridiculous theories but it's the third question that always catches them.

The scamdemic believers have created such a sense of paranoia and defensiveness amongst themselves that they are devoid of empathy, incapable of rational discussion and I would suspect thinking as well, as having constant negative feelings isn't good for ones health.

One thing I have noticed a lot of scamdemic believers have in common is they are long term unemployed and intent on keeping it that way no matter what. They've been coasting along nice and happy riding the system all these years and now Covid 19 has thrown a curve ball at them and they have to start thinking about will my payments be cut because of all the other people who have been paid more than me to stop working and are no longer actually paying the tax that used to sponsor my free weekly money.

It's tough times for the scamdemic crew and only going to get tougher when the reality of the situation we are in and the long term repercussions it will have finally sinks in. No doubt when they are encouraged to upskill and seek employment a lot of them will try and use the pandemic as a reason not to.

Man, they are serious allegations to make on a public forum. Saying joe Biden is a paedophile on a public forum. I’d seriously consider deleting that if I were you. Risky business with libel laws.

Joe Biden is a PADEO.He gropes kiddies and women's titties... His Son is a crack head who has been a bagman for his corrupt father with the Chinese and Russians...SUE ME and lets have it aLL out in a court of law. Someplace... . Be the dumbest lawsuit ever taken..A POTUS seeing a nobody for an internet comment, and having to then defend his documented actions on film .Be a laugh

I’ve no skin in that game. I just think your comments may be libelous. I’ve no interest in suing anyone for what they say about things that don’t affect me. Just they seem a bit far removed from reality. No mainstream media has whistle blown on this. Think you’ve gone down the rabbit hole a bit on Biden versus trump

Is there no limit to the lows you will stoop to?

I called you out on it before when you called some lady politician you don't agree with a whore.

Try have some decency and manners.

I don’t know the ins and outs of what you’re alleging grizzly. But libellous comments put boards and it’s users at risk is all I am saying. Just be sure you’re 110% right.

"May be libellous" ....Where?In what jurisdiction? In the US...Hardly.As I am posting under 1st amendment rights its a non-starter. Ireland, maybe, but go ahead and initiate proceedings, and that will require subpoenas of witnesses, and can you see the POTUS defending "his good name " in the Irish high court in person? As he says himself "Cmon man!"

A bit far removed from reality? Would you like this to be done to your daughter or wife??? I don't care who you are commoner or President of the USA but if you touched my wife or daughter like that...You'd be on the floor picking up your teeth!😡https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H5NJZMDumY

Let's not forget he also has a sex assault charge against him as well..Seems to be a thing with US presidents these days.Google Tara Reade sexual assault. So hardly an innocent inoffensive man,and from public source materials and media, one could happily draw a conclusion about his personality and predilections.

The one thing that really beats me here about all this Biden support in this thread by supposedly pro-gun ownership people...HOW do you square this support of this man who has built a political career on being vehemently ANTI GUN ownership? And would just as happily see you disarmed in Ireland as people in the USA?

Just really curious about how you figure this out?

    MODERATOR WARNING

That is enough, from EVERYONE. Between the derogatory comments, backseat modding, trolling, and general low tone of the last dozen or so posts, it has stretched the limits of the "Off Topic" nature of the thread.

Move on to a new topic or face a thread ban.

    First and only warning.

Yea it’s a pain in the hole. I’ll stick it out here (Shooting) as it’s niche but my interest is waning otherwise.

First they came for the socialists...

  • Registered Users Posts: 558 ✭✭✭JP22

Yeah, bit of a pain but some good changes made. Hold out, maybe more good changes to come, hopefully.

Like, being able to delete your PM (in and Out), being able to see who's (members/guests) on Shooting section, etc...

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,035 ✭✭✭clivej

And photos now upload, after posting to a thread the 'Back' button goes to the thread and not the input page.

I would like to see on the main Shooting page 'New' if a new comment has been posted on the 'Hunting, For Sale, and Target Shooting' pages.

Can't figure out how to selectively cut bits out for quotes. Its either the entire previous post or nothing when you quote.

Nice that it links now to articles in their entirety...So did they get this previous copyright problem sorted out ?

The "back" button, will always bring you back to the last page you were on and with the new site that means losing any unsaved progress.

As for "New" posts, that is there already. On the main shooting page it'll list threads with new replies with a "NEW" icon beside the thread. It'll also have a closed envelope icon beside it to indicate unread posts.

Same with the main page where it show hunting, for sale, and target forum. It'll show these as having unopened envelopes beside the forum name as circled below as well as the date (for now) of the last post on the right. When you click onto the sub forum it'll list threads with new posts as above, with NEW besdie the thread and unopened envelope icons beside the thread.

These might become more obvious as the site progresses and the suggestion for "Today" as with the old forum, has be made so people don't have to keep checking dates for new posts/replies.

The multi quote is there, but as you said its the entire quote. There is no function, yet, to select only the bits you wish to quote from the quote and because of the new format of the site the old
insert text
does not work anymore. However there is a work around or more accurately a new way to do it.

You can tag the person (and they'll get a notficication they've been tagged) by typing the "at" symbol (@) and their username then selecting it from the drop down menu that appears. This gets their attention. Then stick a line of what they said, that you wish to quote, into quotation marks. To get the quotation marks simply click on the icon outside, to the left, of the dialogue box that follows the line you are typing and a menu appear. Select the quotation mark symbol, then the "quote" and you get this:

It’s covered in most news sources. I’m not left or right. I know I’m a pragmatist. I read a wide variety of sources. I have an open mind, don’t just stick to one source for information.

but did enjoy Boris Johnson and the umbrella, anyone see it.

That's a healthy approach, an open mind and the respect that others are entitled to their views.

Free speech is a great concept, sometimes lost in these modern times.

Poor ol' Boris with the umbrella, lol.

Nope the nuclear warheads are British. Sorry to correct you

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,955 ✭✭✭✭Grizzly 45

Did you read the article? Britan might have them, but bar the subs that they are on, they are US weapons in technology, servicing, launch coding[non applicable in the UKs case], having the satellite guidance and GPS to guide them,[although not in Tridents case

RE GPS]. Britain hasn't built, fielded or deployed a " made in GB "nuke since...oh ...The early 1960s? Doubtful that the US would sell a "trusted ally" a system of releasing nuclear apocalypse on the World without some sort of failsafe system? As the UK system is entirely dependent on the PM having the final say so on launch, and even the UK sub commander has the autonomy to launch the birds on his own bat, there is no" UK launch codes".I'd be pretty sure the US has something of a say in who, what, when, where, why? I'd hope so...The thought of BoJo having access to the button is pretty scary.
