Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Does everyone get a follow on text saying update and how important it is for you to attend and to read the vaccine leaflet and to give your consent.

Do I need to give consent or can I wait to the day.

Has anyone else had a text asking you to log into the portal before your appointment to give consent? I just got one now, but I'm afraid to do it in case it messes something up for me (I know some people on here had their appointments cancelled).

    This is the text:

    Update for X,
age X years, about your COVID-19 vaccination appointment on XXX. It is important that you attend this appointment to ensure you are protected from COVID-19, including the Delta variant.

    We now need you to:
Read the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine leaflet at http://hse.ie/pfizil

Give your consent for your vaccination.

Answer some medical questions so we can make sure it is OK to vaccinate you.

Please log in and do this online using this link: https://vaccine.hse.ie

If you have any questions, call the COVID-19 helpline on 1800 700 700.

Does anyone know what's happen to the Galway race course schedule when the "Galway Races Summer Festival (26th July – 1st August 2021)" gets under way.

I see thy are hoping to allow 5K people to attend per day. Can they accommodate this plus continue the vaccines? Most race days start at 14:30.Can they work up to this time for vaccines?

Are they planning to pause this location for first doses, but many people will be due there second does at this time, will they be rescheduled to another centre?

Local pharmacy is starting on over 35s from this Sunday so I'll see which one happens first I guess.

I thought the pharmacies were only doing over 50s? Did they annouce a change to that then? Do you know if they are offering Pfizer or J&J or one of the other vaccines?

I rang the HSE line - registered 2nd June, still no appointment. It is being "escalated" and "you will get an appointment very soon" which I took as code to be just wait and you will eventually get one

I had to phone 6 days in a row, starting 4 days before my 4 weeks were up. Got told on Sunday I was escalated and now have a date for July 1st. Infuriating having to fight to get a vaccine when my appointment was clearly missed by the HSE's automated system, 38 year olds in my area are getting vaccinated before me (40). Keep calling HSE Live and complain, seems to be the only thing that works

Pharmacies doing both Pfizer for over 35 starting Sunday and j&j for the over 50,s which they are getting very little uptake.

They did announce a change to that. They will likely have J&J.

Haven't heard but I'd be surprised if they paused it, getting people jabbed is more important than a few races.

This particular one is offering Pfizer. I just saw a photo that someone posted on Twitter of a sign in a pharmacy window in Dooradoyle saying they're offering Pfizer to over 30s ftom Tuesday 6th! It's worth looking up your local pharmacy's Facebook page :)

I consented online and had no problem at all . But it was a bit pointless as they asked the same questions again in the MVC

An add on is the term they used. Had to quote persons name who rang me at door.I am 50. First jab 1st June quite late for that age group. Can't check online either to see if I have appointment. So have to ring everyday now as I don't trust them to text me for 2nd Pfizer jab.

My wife checked the portal earlier and it had it her appointment in for this Sunday, she started filling in the online questionnaire and it cancelled her appointment.

She then rang the helpline and within 10 minutes she got her appointment text. Unfortunately she got a cancellation text about 30 minutes ago.

    She's annoyed.... Very annoyed....

We left filling in any info on line on our first jab as I had been warned about the possibility of the appointment being cancelled, they ask all the same on the day anyway. Surely they have had enough time now to fix this known bug .

I was surprised to get the text this week to be honest but speaking to family and friends in the area this evening I’m not alone, plenty of 36 to 39 year olds have received texts this week although not all to the local vaccine centre. Hopefully it’s a good sign for Meath after all the delays.

Got my Pfizer vaccine through my GP earlier, absolutely delighted, I had only rang them yesterday to check if they were doing vaccines. Also just checked the portal and it is still the same - "awaiting appointment 1". My advice for anyone waiting a number of weeks would be to try your GP.

Mine updated while doing the 15 min recovery wait in gp surgery. I guess the gp forgot to update it. Showing awaiting appointment 2 for me now even tho gp has given me the date.

Just curious as what could be more important than getting 2nd AZ jab knowing how vulnerable we 60 to 69 age bracket are to Delta variant ?
I tried to get mine last week with my wife but supervisor wouldn't give it as i was only 52 days from Ist jab, getting it this Friday :)

I filled the "i consent" on last Saturday for an appointment on Monday, an on Monday I answered the questions a few hours before heading over.

The registration person looked up my details and said "I see you have already filled out the questions you're good to go" and off I went.

The vaccinator did ask the questions again.

Traffic around the Helix itself is fine, plenty of space in the garage (free of charge)
Assuming you'd be coming from the M50 down the N1 and turn right to the campus, there shouldn't be much traffic.

Now the Helix plaza itself is a bit different, I was there yesterday around that time, and there is a continuous stream of people (guesstimate : around 300 at any time), so you get sorted in rows and have to wait outside (under the marquees) for about 20 min.

I have an appointment for a 2nd shot on Sunday (which would make a 30 day interval) but will be away, so I want to go a day or two early and see if they will do it then instead.

I had my first vaccine (Pfizer) in Citywest this morning.

    40 years old
    Appointment was for 8:25
Arrived just after 8 and decided to go in as there were a good few people around.
Was injected at 8:31, 15 min observation and then out.

    Impressive setup out there.

    1st Dose: 29th June
    Location: Fingal
    Venue: Helix
    Vaccine type: BioNtech-Pfizer

So I had the shot yesterday as scheduled. Fairly busy out there with a constant stream of cars coming in/out.

The initial queuing system can look quite daunting when you first arrive, but you soon realise how it works, and it actually works quite well. I was probably there for about 15-20 minutes before 'my line' started entering the building. Arrived at the check in desk and was there for no more than 60 seconds, then around the corner to another small queue and was in a vaccine booth after about a minute.

Very slick operation, well managed and well run. The stewards outside the building entrance marshalling folk to stay on the squares on the ground to keep everything nice and uniform..

Feel's almost surreal, like something out of a movie!

Slightly sore upper arm is the only side effect so far.

2nd shot will be up at the Showgrounds by the airport/Swords as the Helix will be closing soon.. Handier for me to get to, so happy days.

Shout out to any fellow Boardsies that were there ~15:10 - 15:50
