Even my wife does not know how much I earn. Hell, she doesn't even know I own a 2 bed apartment with a sitting tenant that I operate through my own limited company- she doesnt even know about the company either.

That's odd as heck. Your wife doesn't know you are a landlord/own property/have private companies?

    Bizarre.

    People ask that...

I don’t think anybody ever asks that.

    Thought I'd fcking lose it

You ignored 26 duplicate questions though. When did you stop talking to him? After question 7?

Same with guys profiles currently. I do actually swim, got chatting to someone who had it on his profile, became clear he didn't actually swim, had got in once and was too cold lol

Some have. One guy asked how I afforded to pay for college and got very abusive. I blocked him then.
Now that I think about it, quite a few have.

ha, yeah I got in last October and it was f*cking freezing so it's not really for me in this country anyway. Seriously though, pretty much every woman who isn't the type with fake nails and lots of makeup mentions sea swimming in their bio, and when I did swim last year it was mostly women there, seems to be a phenomenon that took hold over lockdown.

Maybe you are right, I don’t do it myself so I don’t know - but I will say I have guy friends who took it up over lockdown so not sure it’s a woman thing per se.

I do like active people so outdoor shots are always good - however it’s pretty easy to tell the difference between the perfectly posed ones and the just out there having fun ones.

Yeah active is good but some go too far and there's only so many Tough Mudder pictures I can look at! Maybe I should get someone to take photos of me jogging or cycling to work...

If someone is asking the same question over and over it is because they have so many "dates" on the go they are struggling to keep track.

I used to do that, messaging multiple people at once. It's too much to handle and it's difficult to make a meaningful connection with someone. I stick to one at a time, once I've got a conversation going.

But it depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for ONS, then you may as well use the machine gun approach.

I once went on several dates with a lady who showed up one afternoon to tell me she was still in love with a married man or a man who was going through a divorce

It was decent of her to show up in person to tell me

I went on a dinner date with this Polish lady circa 2006/2007.

She was effing nuts. The picture on her profile was clearly not her and she insisted on sitting beside me at the table. Who the eff goes on a dinner date and sits beside the date rather than face to face? well this crazy bird did because it was blatantly obvious that her profile pic was some one completely different. She was a bitter disappointment on the looks front compared to the pic.

She spent the whole time telling me about her campaign to make the life of the father of her 5 year old daughter (which she also kept from me) absolute hell. Dragging him in and out of Court every five minutes. I felt sorry for him as she was clearly very vindictive. She didnt even bad mouth him or say he was a bastard but she just enjoyed fcking with him. I was left with the distinct impression she got pregnant on purpose with some poor lad, ditched him, she ran rings around him and then proceeded to screw him for every penny. I just got pissed on two bottles of red wine to myself and left it at that.

Another Polish date was obsessed with learning Irish. She would literally pull out text books in her front room and want to start practising. That was sum total of our two "dates". One day she insisted we go to Easons and I would help her pick out a suitable Irish textbook which we then had to go back to her place to read.

Another Polish girl I actually met the old fashioned way (in a bar) was lying in my bed after a night of unprotcted sex. I walked in and she was making all sorts of yoga poses under the sheets. I asked her what she was doing and I quote "I am making Irish babies"... I ditched her at the airport PDQ back to Poland and blocked her number.

Another Polish girl was just so much hard work I just gave up.

Oh I read it wrong - I thought you were being sarcastic with the it’s nice of her line! Sorry :)
Also I missed the fact that you had several dates, I thought it was the first date where she had told you she was in love with somebody else.

It's not that bad of an idea actually on a 3rd (maybe second if there was a good connection on the 1st) date.

If you find somewhere with a booth. Sitting beside each other it's a lot easier to get closer, to touch them occasionally or to kiss if the moment is right.

Kissing during a meal? Wait until you're somewhere more private.

I'm not talking about atein' the face off someone but if the right moment arises - why not.
Have to be able to read the situation and needs to be the right type of kiss.

Generally on dating apps, a girl who is normally perceived to be a 6/10 gets treated like an 8 while a guy who is normally perceived to be a 6/10 gets treated like a 4. Most average looking guys will receive 1 or 2 likes per day (maybe one of those from 5,000 miles away) while most average looking women match with pretty much everyone.

In fairness, if guys got this celebrity treatment they could probably get lazy about responding too if they lose interest due to someone better coming along.

I do just wonder where these women end up, like attractiveness is usually on par when people settle together and usually have relationships within their own league.

The return of bars and clubs would be good for single guys as the competition is tough on apps these days!

I think it’s a bit weird for a meal. Drinks fair enough esp on 2nd date.

Oh absolutely. Just seems to be that the crazy stand out ones happened to be Polish.

I was left with the distinct impression after those dates that Polish women all wanted something and there was always an angle. It felt more like a business transaction and they would make you jump through a lot of hoops.

Best to stick with your own I thought.

It's the culture we live in unfortunately. It's a choice between drinking at weekends, dating apps or social clubs, two of which are pretty much non existent these days. Hence the rise of dating apps and all the flaws they bring. I'm glad I escaped the dating world when I did but I really do feel for guys who are not above average in looks these days as they are not getting the superstar treatment average looking girls are getting.

You come across a little bitter over "average" girls getting attention on these apps tbh. If it makes you feel any better I, as a man, often ignore messages and have stopped talking to people when I just couldn't be bothered any more.

when i was in Brazil I was constantly getting tinder matches with women that would have been way out of my league here. after a while i started just ignoring messages because i just couldn't be arsed, so i can totally see why women are generally much less attentive to their matches.
lads shouldn't get pissed off about it because if the roles were reversed they would be just as picky

Why were you attractive to Brazilian women?

Would they know much about Ireland?

no idea, maybe the paler complexion? they would message in Portuguese so they thought i was Brazilian, at least initially.

about what you'd expect, some had friends/relations who are here and wanted to visit sometime. some thought that it meant i was British and that they 'loved the UK'

Brazilian women usually only match to improve their English.
