This is simply some made up stuff.

And he's passed away in any case!

And what has this got to do with the thread subject?
    It's descending into nonsense!

It's not at all nonsense. All of this stuff is dismissed as a conspiracy theory, but it's not. It probably isn't the right thread for it, but it's not a conspiracy theory.

It's not realistic to believe that numerous world leaders decided at the exact same time that the vaccines aren't enough (Johnson said it was the lockdown that caused the fall in numbers, not the vaccine rollout, Trudeau said vaccines alone 'won't keep us safe'.) And we're also supposed to believe they happened to think of the exact same slogan in 'Build Back Better' and say 'new normal'.

The above deserves its own thread, so I'll leave it at that.

I'm only going by what David Rockefeller said: "... the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march toward a world government."

Control of all human activity and in which the people are dependent on the government (universal basic income, vaccine passport (social credit system)) is what I believe the new normal post covid world will look like.

I thought all along that some of the conspiracy stuff would become reality

The other thing is the quarantine

That'll be adapted as governments see fit under the camouflage of covid

I think this message is very true. We really have rolled over and given up so many rights we have seen as normal because of hysteria.

It's beginning to look like masks and SD are here for the long haul

Especially at the rate we're vaccinating people. Honestly at the moment I'm wondering if things will ever go back to normal.

What trudeau and johnson said this week about vaccines not being enough is worrying. In a perfect world that would be enough to end their respective careers but it seems now we're heading for soft tyranny with a smiley face drawn on it.

And for anyone who balks at what I'm saying or send a rolls eyes emoji, when do you see things going back to normal and why do you think so ?

    When:

In around 2-3 months once once we reach >60% of the population vaccinated.

    Why:

Israel January 10000+ cases. Israel today 34 cases.

You are quick to try to discredit anything against lockdown and fast to study any links despite your apparent boredom and disinterest.

I've never seen such a disinterested person so quick off the mark with rebuttals.

There’s probably never been a global “event”, be it a war, pandemic, famine, whatever, where things have returned to exactly what they were before. Vaccines obviously give us a great path out of the current situation, but I do think we need to accept that there will be differences in the future and things won’t be exactly the same.

We can all argue til the cows come home about how this was or should have been handled, and hopefully we’ll get back to as close to what we previously knew as “normal” as possible, but things will be different. Whether these differences are huge or tiny remains the question I think.

There will be global and national systems in place to contain new variants

Will the masks be an on/off kinda thing ?

Who knows, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something like mandatory mask wearing in shops and on public transport from November to April every year.

Went back to the gym for the first time tonight since they reopened here in England. No masks, no social distancing, I still sprayed down my bench and machine after use as it’s just common courtesy but other than the yellow stickers dotted around on the floor, it felt like being back in the good ol days of 2019.

The level of restrictions will depend on where you live I reckon. Some countries will have the molly coddling nature of policies whereas some other countries will just go back to normal. I've a friend who lives in Guernsey, on 22nd march they went back to normal. No masks or social distancing required. Now it has to be noted that its an island of 60k people. But still, if our politicians insist on restrictions etc as the new normal for the long term, I'll be packing my bags.

They won't do that , were part of the EU so we'll be doing what they do mostly

What do you think would have happened, as regards transmission of the virus, if the gyms had been left open?

But won't it depend on how many people are vaccinated in each country?
The UK are a good bit further along than us, so they can afford to open the gyms.
What do you think it would do to the spread of the virus if we opened up before sufficient people were vaccinated?

So you think that a good number of people doing exercises,
and breathing more heavily than normal,
    in an indoor setting,
would not be a good place for the virus to spread?

I saw a study yesterday on BMJ that showed physical inactivity is associated with a higher risk of a severe outcome if you contract covid. Consider me shocked. How ever could we have known such a thing.

Is there any data on gyms

They might not be as high as pubs or some other places, but they are considered a risk area.

Who said I was 'disinterested'? The guys comes across as a complete ivory tower academic tbf

But why referring to me rather than the topic in hand? Tbh that simply comes across as generally ignoring the ball tbh. Might be better tob try and explain why you think I'm wrong in my summation.

But yeah just in case youve got the wrong idea- I'm very interested how this pandemic is being managed etc. And yeah I tend to follow links. You can learn a lot doing that.

But perhaps more importantly he seems to have all the usual conspiracy theories down pat tbh.

You said heavy breathing but that wouldn't apply to all areas at all

I think they would require SD around treadmills for the unvaccinated

Know a lot of people who used to go to the gym, it definitely helped with fitness plus maintaining a healthy body as well as a healthy weight plus being good for mental health.

It beggars believe that they’ve been closed alongside sport, even not being permitted outdoors. Kids as well - nothing for them in the prime of their lives and instead stuck indoors on devices.
