Scarlets v Sale. AJ McG with the first 3

Interesting turn of phrase from the commentator there saying Halfpenny suffered a "brain injury" against Scotland in the 6Ns. I like that, call it what it actually is.

I actually never thought of it that way. Makes complete sense. BIA next year?

    Shocking start from Scarlets

Anyone under any illusions of how crap the pro14 is just needs to look at the games this weekend

Sooner the sharks, bulls, stormers and lions join the better. Pro 14 is not competitive bar the Irish teams and even they have fallen behind the french and english teams

Sale are smothering them. A bit more accuracy and this game would be over already.

    Faf running this game

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,366 ✭✭✭yerrahbah

That looked like a try to me...

And yet how many of these Scarlets players won a 6Ns championship last week? 6 maybe?

Scarlets really need to hold out here. Hard to see them coming back from a three score deficit.

Agree with first bit but what evidence is there that English teams are better than the provinces bar Connacht? I'd say all 3 would make play offs in prem

Sale vs La Rochelle will be a fascinating matchup. A miserly defence against a team who can play some dazzling rugby.

Ah, Scarlets, are you trying to throw this game?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,366 ✭✭✭yerrahbah

    That looked high on Faf

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,564 ✭✭✭RugbyLover123

Wow. That is surely a red and completely missed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,366 ✭✭✭yerrahbah

And of course Scarlets get a try from it.

Sale really exposing the space in the Scarlets backfield

5 French teams through to QFs and with 2 all French ties at least 2 French sides guaranteed to be in last four.

Sale lose the only 2 pool games they had and are in the QF

Seems like there is very little talent in Welsh rugby these days. Any player who has broken into the national team in recent years has come from the Premiership (Adams, Sheedy, LRZ).

It's the same sport, same rules, same kind of opponent. What exactly do they need to get used to?

Scarlets have a host of injuries. During the international window they were missing 20-25 players. I doubt they win today but Rob Evans, Samson Lee, James Davies, Hardy and Patchell would strengthen their 23.

    Unavailable because of injury
Rhys Patchell (hamstring), Phil Price (knee), Kieran Hardy (hamstring), Tom Prydie (foot), Josh Macleod (Achilles), Dan Davis (hamstring), Tomi Lewis (knee), Samson Lee (concussion), Rob Evans (concussion), James Davies (concussion), Danny Drake (ankle), Ioan Nicholas (ankle).

Have a feeling La Rochelle vs Sale will be the pick of the lot, but the rest of the games should be tasty

An hour and a half between the games next Saturday is strange. Leaves it very tight. Sure the Bristol Bordeaux game last over 2 hours today.

You're looking at local time probably.

They are 3pm and 5:30pm kickoffs Irish time.

Some very super rugby-esque (or at least the stereotype of) scores in the champions cup and challenge cup. Quite a few sides hit the 40s and 50s in points.

    Pressure. Expectation. Excellence.

You'd have to think it'll be Toulouse, Racing, La Rochelle and either Leinster or Exeter in the semis.
