Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you're on a pc, screen grab it with a snipping tool and it'll reduce it down. Otherwise host it elsewhere and post the link

Little wild brownie caught during Saturdays session on the #3 weight fly rod.

No fish rising to the dry fly (probably due to the cold easterly/lack of hatch), so switched to running nymphs through the faster shallows producing a couple of little beauties.

Nice little rudd that saved the blank for me this evening. Had a 3 hour lure session for perch but didn't even have a tap on the lure. This little fella took a nightglow snack shad on a 2g jig head twitched slowly next to a drain. Was never as happy to see a rudd in my life!!!

Caught on 7ft 3 weight rod on the upstream dry fly

    Lovely little fish.

What line are you using? It looks fierce heavy and very curly!

2lb tippet, flash was on camera so made the line appear much thicker in diameter. Dunno why it looked that curly either....

Skinny enough but a huge tail and a great size considering the stream it came out of.

I got this dirty little shyte last night.
Putting it here in case people don't know of them.
It's a weever fish and they can give a very nasty sting. If anyone is unlucky enough to get stung then it's water as hot as you can handle to kill the sting and squeezing the sting till it bleeds can help wash it out too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,551 ✭✭✭SeaFields

Yeah. A lot of the time it's medical treatment for their sting. Mrs Seafields cousin ended up in A+E last summer after stepping on one. No nice at all.

I haven't looked at the angling thread in a long time. Unfortunately the new site doesn't automatically show new posts (maybe I haven't got the set up right) so I sorta forgot about it.

Anyway, a pic my youngest sent me in July whilst he was out fishing in Scotland. Some of the kayak fishers may have seen it before. The picture was taken by a lobster fisherman who happened to be close by.
